Definitely one of the best if not the best fast food Chinese restaurants in the area. Been here a few times now and they are consistent.
    Sam I.

Having visited a few times, I have to say this is the best fast food Chinese restaurant in the area. Flavor is what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant, Unfortunately, several other of their competitors are just terrible. From my few visits here, the lady at the cash register is very nice and I've never had them mess up my order. Unlike other places I've been to. Recommendation: Well, not sure I could say this is really a recommendation, but in the small handful of times i've been here, a couple times I was there eating, they'd have some strange character coming in. People were either on drugs or felt like they were looking for a fight. One got extremely mad because they couldn't just walk in and use the bathroom. Unfortunately, you can't change the area where you conduct business. Honestly wish they moved closer to where I live, the two places near me are terrible. I guess, I wish they could make better fried rice, although it is the typical, fast food, fried rice.

I impulsively stopped bc I wanted an egg roll what a mistake. This place is old, run down, and dirty. The girl who was handling payment turned around and grabbed eggs rolls that were unwrapped out of the fridge and tossed them in the fryer. She neither washed her hands before or after. It's a small dark dining room. Idk why anyone would chose to eat inside that establishment after 10 min my egg rolls were ready. As I suspected they were awful. The crust was hard and dry and separating from the dried out second layer of cabbage? Party dough? Cardboard? Idk what that was. After gnashing my through what should have been a light and flakey crust I got to a dried, flavorless, wad of what appeared to be cabbage and bacon bits. I have never had such bad egg rolls ever. This was the worst egg roll experience ever and the staff is not happy to be there. Prob bc it's so small, dark, and dirty. Also some lady in flannel wreaked of pipe tobacco stood way too close to me. I almost stopped breathing. During which time she almost hit me in the face with a purse that was shredding apart. Never seen anything like it. I know they can't control their customer odor but I think You can learn about the food based on its patrons. And if you smoke anything enuff to spoil the air everywhere you go, your taste buds have left your mouth. This place needs to clean the place from top to bottom, paint the walls and furniture, get rid of the tape holding things together and take some hygiene education with a customer service course and get rid of the gross kids toy bins that are holding soy sauce fish sauce and mustard. What this lady did to my food makes me mad. It was inedible. You're not trying.

Little hole in the wall...just wanted to get some nibbles for the LSU game....outstanding egg rolls...the crab Rangoon and fried wanton were delicious!! Will definitely be back to try some entrees. Only drawback like with most of these little places is they do not have hot mustard except in the little packets.

Nice surroundings, very comfortable for their customers.

The menu here is very vague with not very many options for sides or combinations. As for the food itself, it is not very appetizing, especially for the outrageous prices. Not to mention that I received the wrong meal altogether after relaying specific instructions on what I wanted. To make matters worse, delivery takes forever and although it has nothing to do with the establishment itself, I unfortunately had the pleasure of having a Door-dasher who is a heavy smoker, leaving all of my food to smell like cigarette smoke.

Decided on shrimp fried rice after reading another review here & highly agree it is one of the better I've had. The shrimp were larger than expected, plentiful, flavorful & sweet. Shrimp were Perfectly cooked! The fried rice was perfectly balanced imo. Eggroll was tasty & average. I only tasted the boneless pork ribs & did not like the meat texture and the sauce was not at all to my liking. I prefer the ribs & sauce to be more browned & sauce caramelized, but the sauce just wasn't anything like I've had before. Don't think cooking it more would help it. Blah. Still overall, I will come back even just for the shrimp fried rice when I don't feel like cooking. It's out of my way but I've tried the closer places since I moved from LP, & been sorely disappointed. The fried rice here was as good as Viet Garden way down Florida Blvd, which I used to live closer to. Viet Garden obviously isn't Chinese but it's a nice sit down restaurant with very good food, when out that way.

We went to Salt & Light for Sushi immediately after landing in Gonzales because we were starving,…read moreand it turned into one of the best date nights we've had in a long time. We met the owner, Shelly, who is originally from China, and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. What really surprised us was that they served us fresh wasabi instead of the usual paste -- I've never had that before, and it was amazing. Once you try it fresh, you can never go back. Our server, Dashay, was fantastic -- kind, attentive, and just such a lovely young woman. We started with hot sake and Kirin draft beer, then ordered a spicy tuna roll and a hamachi (yellowtail and scallion) roll, both of which were excellent. We also had tempura -- the batter was a little thick for my personal taste, but the sauces were so good that it still hit the spot. My favorite dish was the ama ebi (sweet shrimp), especially because they bring out the fried shrimp head, which was crispy and delicious. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully balanced. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, we had such a wonderful evening. I can absolutely see why this is Parker's favorite sushi spot in Gonzales. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

We ordered the vegetable spring rolls they had very little filling, had an odd flavor from the oil, but were very crispy. I ordered the hibachi lunch. My daughter ordered General Taos chicken. The portions were large. The fried rice had hard dried out pieces of rice, I guess it had sat open somewhere and dried out. the menu said my chicken would have a teriyaki sauce, not teriyaki, some not good sauce which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The raw chicken had not been covered I am guessing, because it had a 'skin' on it? I could not eat it. My lunch came with a choice of salad or clear soup. I chose the salad, was very crispy but it had almost an 1/2 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My daughter said her clear soup was excellent. Her General Taos chicken had an old freezer taste she said . We were totally unable to eat the entrees. So sad. We had hoped that this would be our go to place for Chinese food.
