Fried Dumplings
Elenora B.

Chinese Kitchen has always been a great spot for cheap Chinese take out! I recently tried their sweet and sour chicken and it was so good. I'm not the biggest fan of their fried rice so I subbed it for lo mein which is always my go-to there. They give a pretty good portion size for their cheap prices. If you go, I recommend the fried dumplings appetizers. They are so delicious and they give you a bunch! They're always quick and I never hesitate to come here when I'm in the mood for Chinese food.

If I could give it zero stars i would honestly. There was hair, not like just one strand, but HAIR in my food. And it's like wrapped in the rice, which is absolutely disgusting. Goes to show that it's filthy and who knows what else goes on in the kitchen. My stomach is literally so upset rn.

The food is good and delivery is fast! It's always fresh and delicious. I ordered way more before they added a $4 delivery fee.

Great taste/quality. I got the "amazing chicken" with Lomein noodles and egg rolls. Egg rolls were so good. Overall great experience.

Best Chinese in Baton Rouge, large chunks of meat, large portions of food and great combos. Singapore chicken is the dank.

Favorite place to get Chinese food in BR! Reasonable prices with quality food. The spicy beef and shrimp dishes are my favorite.

Best Wings in Baton Rouge. Top of the class…read more Great Service. Nice ambiance. Just the Best wings in Baton Rouge, NO question.

On our mini BR trip my friend and I were searching for a place to eat and Valley Wings was a place…read moreclose by that popped up on Yelp. They did not disappoint at all. The service was great (S/o to Macy and the man at the front counter who I'm assuming is the owner). When I asked for more information on certain flavors and how good they were, the server was extremely honest especially when it came to the valley bread. The owner also gave us free samples of the valley bread (first picture below) which is a fresh garlic and Parmesan bread. The vibes were definitely there. Back to the Future and Jurassic Park were playing on the tv, and the writing on the walls gave a unique touch. It kept us entertained by reading different names and sayings. NOW TO THE FOOD!! The pink lemonade was good. It wasn't overly sweet which I love. The kool-aid (not pictured),on the other hand, could have used more sugar personally. There was also blue raspberry lemonade which we didn't try. I appreciated that these drinks were additional options besides the traditional coke products that they do have. The death valley meal was a 12 wing combo w/ fries and a drink. My friend decided on garlic parmesan and the valley sauce as her two flavors. The valley sauce was a light, sticky bbq sauce. It was amazing compared to traditional bbq sauced wings. The sauce wasn't over powering like traditional bbq sauce making the eating experience way better. Now that garlic parmesan?!!! Nothing like wingstop for sure. It's hard to explain but it taste exactly like garlic and parmesan. It doesn't taste fake like other garlic parmesan flavors. One thing I really appreciate about this business is their use of fresh garlic because it's not hard to miss. It adds an extra spark to their dishes. My 10 piece combo with half lemon pepper and honey hot was equally amazing. That flavor was unexplainable!! Usually when I get honey hot (or hot honey) it's always too sweet with no kick. Valley Wings honey hot was a perfect mix of both. The "kick" really got my friend, but for a regular spice consumer this would be great for you. The lemon pepper in my option lacked. I don't know if they didn't put enough season on it or my taste buds were off from the other previous flavors, but I barely tasted any lemon pepper. It was still good chicken but the flavor wasn't present. The regular and Cajun fries had a nice crunch to them but nothing special. They do offer a lot of loaded fry options that looked and sound amazing like chicken Alfredo, Cajun shrimp Alfredo, etc. Definitely another BR go-to restaurants on my list. Pink lemonade: 8/10 Garlic Parmesan: 9.5/10 Valley sauce: 8.5/10 Lemon pepper: 5/10 Honey hot: 9/10 Cajun fries: 5/10

Very interested to see how this place works when it's busy. But more on that later…read more Like half of the folks who have reviewed I had sweet heat and lemon pepper wings and fries. Fries were salted with some Cajun spice mix. They could have gone lighter but the fries weren't greasy so no points off from me. The wings were good. Just the right size so you don't have to worry how pumped up on steroids the chickens were before they gave their life for our consumption. Skin was crispy. The spices/sauces were delicious especially the sweet heat, such a nice sneaky little heat. So back to my initial thought it did take some time for the food to come although there were on three other tables. Not a full down of the game but some time. Also they could have been slammed with mobile orders. Who knows? Food was fresh and hot so I am willing to go again but I feel like if I walked in and it was busy and I was hungry I would walk out.

My Uber…read moredriver recommended a new place that opened up on Lee that had just what I was looking for, after telling him that after moving to Seattle it was the one thing I missed: Good. Fried. Food. I knew the moment I walked in that it was going to be good. It was a no non-sense, simple setup with a cashier, an extensive menu on the wall (very good prices by the way), and a heated bar setup that drew my attention immediately. Nothing more, nothing less. In today's world where for many new establishments, it feels like all the budget goes to marketing with paid influencers on socials to draw in customers, most times I feel the food falls short and underwhelming. I can taste the effort put into the food here at Lee's. The hot bar had all of your classic staples, freshly fried. As I walked in, they replenished the trays more as they were running low from the customers in front of me. I could hear the fryers hard at work the entire time I was there. I found out that some things are also actually cooked to order. The staff were very friendly. I made sure to try a bit of everything I've been craving since I moved away - Fried chicken, pork cracklings, chicken cracklings, and even the egg roll since it had just came right out from the kitchen fresh and I had to get some. Everything was seasoned well and had that crunchy, crispy bite I was looking for. My cracklin crave was satisfied. Definitely going to make sure I stop by anytime I'm in town. I'm so glad the area has been seeing a lot of development with lots of new food options and I hope it continues. In the vast sea of fried chicken businesses in Baton Rouge, Lee's really stood out to me. Really wished they had opened up while I was still here! Highly recommend.

The rest of the story: My first experience with the Blue Store was at the location closest to Southern University and the wings were nothing short of amazing! This location has the same succulent, crispy wings that I fell in love with. They have thighs and breasts too, listed on the menu as "other parts". The fries and potato logs are decent and serve as menu filler, in my estimation. The star is the chicken. This is not the place you come with a larger group to sit down and have a meal. There's no space for all that. Step up to the counter. Ogle the delicious chicken posing in the window of the heat tray, tell the cashier how many wings or "other parts" you want, add some sides if you need some filler and then wait a very short minute while they hand your order to you, tantalizingly hot and tasty. If you're like me, with eyes bigger than your stomach, never fear! Pop these wings in the oven for a few mins the next day and they crisp right up and that flavor is still on-point! This one goes straight to the top of the list of favorites!

The crawfish pie was amazing and filled with crawfish and the holy Trinity. I could taste crawfish with every bite. The crawfish boudin was also good, and seasoned well, but I didn't really notice crawfish when I bit into it. The potato was alright, but too potato-y in the end for me. I think I would just stick with the wings, crawfish pie, and crawfish boudin next time. The food is delicious and prices are cheap. Fast service.
