The atmosphere is great, and the room temperature is usually around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Lee's also has pictures, banners, and statues of Chinese culture around the restaurant. On the other hand, Lee's has pictures of historical land marks in Donaldsonville and an event schedule of all the sporting activities Donaldsonville High School will be participating in. Furthermore, the mood is very relaxing. The seats are very comfortable. The tables are big enough so everyone can have space to eat. The staff is very friendly. They talk to you in a pleasant manner using their inside voice. The customers are nice people. Sometimes they can get loud but the loud customers usually come together as a family after church. Lee's also plays some background music. Its generally soft rock, or they're playing Elvis Presley. The food at Lee's is awesome! I ordered the shrimp fried rice which came with fried shrimp and fried fish. This dish was $7.99. The drink I ordered was the sweet iced tea with lemon. Lee's iced tea is the best iced tea I had ever had, and it comes in a very large cup, and it's only $1.09. The wait on the food was fast. It took only 10-15 minutes. That's a lot faster than other restaurants in Donaldsonville. When I got the food, the presentation was plain. It was a normal white plate. The smell of the fish and the shrimp was making my eyes water, and the smell over powered my nose. The shrimp fried rice was delicious. The rice is very greasy, yet tasteful. The fish melts in your mouth. Also, there are no bones in the fish. The shrimps were juicy and full of flavor, but you only get 3 big shrimps. The iced tea is the best choice you can order. You can choose water, lemonade, or sweet tea. The sweet iced tea was amazing! It was sweet, cold and very refreshing. I could feel the tea running through my body. You have to try the tea for yourself. It's a two thumbs up. Last, the reason Lee's Chinese Inn is so laid back is because its been around since 1984. It's located on highway 1 south, which is located next to the main shopping area in Donaldsonville. Donaldsonville is a small city and everyone knows each other. Everyone goes to Lee's, so when you go to Lee's to eat, you see people you already know. Going to Lee's is like visiting a friend.
