This was one of the most disgusting dining experiences I've ever had. While walking up to the soup station, I noticed a roach crawling directly on the stack of cups people are supposed to use for their soup. That alone tells you everything you need to know about the cleanliness of this place. If there are roaches openly crawling around the utensils, imagine what's happening in the kitchen where customers can't see. It completely killed my appetite and made me question the safety of all the food being served. A buffet should be held to very high sanitation standards, and clearly this place is failing miserably. Seeing insects around food and serving items is unacceptable and frankly a health concern. Until management gets serious about pest control and basic hygiene, I would strongly recommend people avoid eating here. No one should have to worry about roaches when they're trying to eat a meal. read more

It just says China buffet on the outside, and the directions tell you it's a u turn and then it's on the right. But just trust your gut. This place was clean and good and fresh! We stayed an hour around 6:45 on a Thursday. Six tables of people and they kept the food super fresh. People came and went for the 9.99 all day take out dish, and it was a super good deal. I was in Port Allen on business and with a UK work colleague. He had a hankering for Chinese Buffet, and after multiple online and personal inquiries, we picked Super Taste China Buffet for its proximity to the Plant. The price was right, the offerings were plentiful and with wide variety, but the food was just OK. Part of the issue too is one of nutrition. When one is trying to watch calories and healthy choices, these kind of places present a real challenge. read more

The food was ok typical Chinese. Service ok. Foam plates and plastic silverware which is ok and normal now after COVID pandemic. I brought my three sons to eat. The server waited until I was at the buffet to ask my sons their age. A bit offensive but I don't care money isn't a problem with me. Once we were paid we went for the ice cream then saw the sign... $1.50 to walk out with the ice cream lol. But they had given me the check and I paid. This was first time here so we had no idea. The lady after I scoped out the ice cream for my youngest said. You eat here. I took my ten dollar tip back off the table and left six for their ridiculous ice cream charge. I hate places that somehow find a way to insult u as customer. Shame on them for trying to do that to me in front of my children. read more

As far as Chinese buffets go, this one is average to good. They run the buffet longer than the times posted, we appreciated that as we were having a late lunch and difficult time finding a place still open! Service was fast and friendly. The food was pretty good. Great selection, the only thing we waited on but never got was the sushi, however as someone from a coastal town I don't mind passing on sushi once in awhile. As with any buffet things tend to dry out and get hard, chicken kebab was about a half hour away from being jerky, sugar bread was hard on bottom. But the breaded chicken in sauce was tasty (I cant recall the name, similar to general tso, but not what it was called) as was the egg drop soup. In the process of trying to find an open Chinese restaurant around downtown Baton Rouge, I discovered this place in Port Allen. To summarize from the start, it was average at best. The food was ok, although some of it was a bit lacking in flavor. Fair selection, mostly a mix of American Chinese cuisine and general American dishes. If you're looking for standard fare from every other Chinese place in the area, it is definitely here. Found the hot and sour soup to be fairly bland and lacking in flavor. In all fairness, I did arrive fairly late in the day. Other dishes were good, such as the lo mein and the chicken w/ broccoli. Service was very prompt. The waitress was very quick to respond to myself and my date, and was also very attentive and friendly to the both of us. Price is also right. Very inexpensive for a lunch buffet. In terms of the physical space, the building is not very attractive from the outside. It is clearly an older space, but one can see that the staff does their best to keep the inside as clean as possible. But older furniture and a moderately dark interior makes a remodel seem very necessary. Or at least a fresh coat of paint. As stated at the beginning, this is an average Chinese restaurant. Pros were service, price, and availability of food selections. Cons were environment and blandness of certain items. read more
