The portion for chicken is HUGE- I think it said serves 2 but maybe serves 2 IF you don't order anything else (which is truly difficult to do bc so many things look divine on the menu). The rose tteokbokki was so chewy and fresh, far outranking its competitors I've had in Atl by a long shot. What made our experience so remarkable besides the huge portions of food was the service by everyone we encountered. I am very happy to update this review - after my last review, the owner reached out to me directly and warmly invited me back in for a complimentary chicken meal, to try to make up for my first experience. I decided to go in last night and I am so glad that I did! The customer service was unmatched; they were pretty busy for a Wednesday evening, but Madison (name on the receipt) was professional and extremely friendly despite handling the phone orders, calling people to pick up their ready orders, and managing a long line of physical customers. I ordered the Jeonju spicy chicken wings to go and at the recommendation of Madison, I got the sauce on the side. As soon as I received my order, I couldn't resist trying one of the wings while driving, they looked and smelled amazing... OMG, they were so crispy and so flavorful on their own! Now I fully understand why their chicken was ranked #1 in the US, it is well deserved! Once I got home, I put them in the air fryer for a few minutes to warm them up - they did maintain their crispy exterior on the 22 minute drive, but I wanted the chicken to be hot. My only qualm is that the Jeonju spicy wasn't spicy at all to me... tasted more like a sweet sauce than anything else, but it was still good. Best Korean fried chicken i've ever had! I just wanted to start off by saying i'm not even a fan of wings, but this totally changed my perspective. It was juicy and extremely crispy with flavors that hit perfectly. I would definitely come again just for the chicken. The kimchi fried rice was amazing as well. We had to go three different versions of chicken (Spicy Jeonju (Hot), Soy Garlic Pepper (medium), Chef Secret (Hot)) and the mega fries. I was advised to not cover the top of the to-go with the bag to keep the chicken crispy because a closed bag would capture moisture and diminish the crispiness. Nice crunch of the chicken outer layer, nice size pieces and juicy tender chicken. The sauces come on the side so you can dip the chicken. Great unique tastes and the hot was not too hot. Just right. Drove 35 minutes and arrived at 345pm on a Saturday afternoon to be told their kitchen would be closed until 4:30pm. This would've been a nice update for them to post on their IG page. Oh, well. ***EDIT/UPDATE AFTER RECEIVING FOOD*** The food was OK, but not too different from a lot of other Korean fried chicken options in my area. Good? Sure. Worth the hype? Definitely not. I ordered the Spicy Jeonju ($29.99 half spicy jeonju and half crispy "original"), kimchi fried rice + spicy pork ($13.99 + $2.99), Kalbi plate ($36.99 "premium"), and Mandu ($11.99). Total after tax: $103.99 Chicken: had a nice crunch/crispiness to it, but the meat was a little on the dry side and didn't have much flavor/seasoning to it. This was surprising, considering the hype. Kyuramen (Suwanee) has better tasting chicken on their appetizer menu - the pieces just aren't as large or crispy. Kimchi fried rice: this was good, but definitely had some kick to it. (Yes, I know it's KIMCHI. I'm half Korean and I grew up eating kimchi so I enjoyed it, but if you're not used to it, it's on the spicy side.) There are a lot of restaurants that offer kimchi fried rice that isn't quite as spicy, but this was good to me. The pork was decent. Nothing special, to be honest. If I ever tried it again, I would order with bulgogi (even though I didn't try their bulgogi, it's very hard to mess this up.) Kalbi plate: the kalbi was tender and the japchae (Korean style noodles) was good for a restaurant, but the flavor/taste of the kalbi was just OK. I much rather prefer the kalbi taste at places like So Gong Dong (Suwanee) and Jang Su Jang (Duluth). Mandu: 1 mandu came with the kalbi plate (not sure if it just comes with the "premium" plate) and I also added a separate order of mandu only. Compared to mandu you can find elsewhere, this was probably the best I've had from a restaurant. The filling was slightly above average as far as taste, but the crunch was really, really good. Really good size and perfectly fried/crispy. Also, I received a typical response from the business manager after posting my original review above... Apologizing for the inconvenience and offering to take care of me if I'm ever in the area... Blah, blah, blah. This was funny to me, because during the 45 minutes I waited in their restaurant for the kitchen to reopen, nobody asked if I needed anything. And, it was just me and one other party (of 3) that were waiting patiently for the kitchen to reopen for most of that 45 minute window. So... was their nice (yet vague) offer because they're sincerely apologetic for the inconvenience or because I posted a review on Yelp? Bottom line: if you're in the area, give it a shot. Everyone's taste is different and I've had korean fried chicken from a lot of different places and I grew up on kalbi, kimchi, japchae, etc., but you may end up loving it. Be prepared to wait, however. Especially if you order any fried chicken - that will take a minimum of 20 minutes from the time you order. Also, once they reopened their kitchen at 4:30, the place filled up FAST. The wait is epic. You'll have to judge for yourself if it's worth the time and cost. To me, it's not worth a drive more than 15-20 minutes. It's just not all that. Only way I'd visit again is if I'm driving past it. read more

We're visiting from out of town, and we heard that this place offers halal Korean fried chicken (not sure about the beef status) so obviously we came to check it out. The place is pretty small, so there's a long wait time. We got the kimchi fried rice, Yang yum chicken, spicy jeonju, and the red buldak. The order did take a while to come, but understandable because it's a popular place. The kimchi fried rice and Yang yum chicken were the best. The Yang yum had a slightly sweet taste and was prefect when paired with the kimchi fried rice. I had kimchi fried rice before, and thought I didn't like it, but I just realized I never had a good one. Yang yum chicken was also perfectly crunchy. Pro tip: try it with the dry chili they give you. The spicy jeonju was good, but it had a type of sweet heat flavor that I don't really like. Buldak was unexpected, because we thought it would be a mostly noodles dish, but it's mostly fried chicken with some noodles on top. The noodles were also too spicy for me. Two things I always order from here, garlic honey butter chicken and Kimchi fried rice. For the garlic honey butter I always get the sauce on side because to me the chicken is more crispy and I don't get overwhelmed with the sauce. The chicken is always moist and the sauce with it is delicious. Only downside is the price, which is $29.99, which is higher than any other K-chicken establishments. I recommend this item. Kimchi fried rice, has the perfect amount of heat and the portion is filling. The food items I tried so far are authentic and would recommend this place. Personally tried probably most of the flavors but my favorite is the plain fried chicken with no sauce mainly you can taste there crunch. I've warn you, you wont be able to stop. I always call ahead to order because they made the chicken when you order and it takes a bit of time. I also highly recommend their beef plate and jap chae. Pretty good that caters well to the locals. Jeonju KFC - Almost perfect, Americanized version of a Korean-Chinese staple dish, "ggan poong gi" or dry-braised chicken. Even resembles a version of a "dak gang jung", sweet, dry-fried KFC nuggets. Mala KFC - Quite impressive handling of the mala spices with legit Sichuan corn pepper pieces, but they may want to reconsider using too much corn starch to thicken the sauce; a lighter mala sauce glazed can bloom the maximum mala-ness with complexity the KFC can offer. Dry pepper should not be that bitter, but I know it's hard to source the right kinds here. Good job! read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday, was not too busy when I came in. There were multiple empty tables to sit at. My friend and I sat down at a four top while waiting for one more person to join, not long after we sat down a lady walked over to us and said if your friend isn't here yet and someone with a full party gets here we will have to ask you to move. There was a table next to us who came later than us also still waiting on their party but she never said anything to them. Honestly I was quite baffled at that statement as we explained to her that we have already ordered our food and was just waiting on our friend. We had decided to just go ahead and order because we read other reviews stating that the food can take a bit of time. We later said if someone else comes before our friend she could help us find somewhere else to sit LOL. We got the chef special kimchi fried chicken and the mega k fries. Honestly, the chicken was good but nothing too crazy. We also ordered it hot but it was not hot at all. The chicken was crispy but for almost $40 nothing special. The kimchi and sauce was okay, not too flavorful. The fries were pretty good, came with lots of sauce, pork and cheese. Halfway through eating our fries, the same lady came over and told the three of us to squeeze into a small two top table cause she said someone else needed the table. She gave it to a larger party but it was three kids and two adults, and the kids could've squeezed on the booth instead. I honestly thought she was quite rude and not sure why we didn't get good service like the other reviews I've read. Overall, this is a very busy place but make sure you come with a full party before they try to kick you out lol. The food was okay, but service could be better. I'm still willing to come back to try the other flavors because everyone raves about this place and I love to go to family owned establishments. Indeed, in the immortal words of Ace of Base, "I saw the sign and it opened up my mind" and I had to stop. I would describe Kimchi Red as fast casual meets K-Pop with a dash of southern mixed in. I do not understand the hype about this place. I was expecting something much better, and we really wasted almost $100 eating here. I knew it would be busy, but I wasn't expecting to wait an hour for our food. It seems like the kitchen isn't capable of handling all the orders in a timely manner. We ordered the Kimchi chicken, Red Buldak, and fries. While they do give you a lot of chicken, the other parts were borderline inedible. The fries were soggy and gloopy with all the toppings. The noodles and egg with the buldak just tasted like heavy, spicy cheese. The kimchi was ok, but too soggy and greasy. Maybe I just don't get the concept, but it wasn't appetizing, putting these cheesy ramen noodles on top of the chicken. The chicken by itself had a good flavor and crunch, but that was the only good part. The dining area was too crowded, and unable to handle all the customers. It seems like they've gotten a lot of publicity from Instagram, but they're not equipped or staffed to handle it. If the cashier told us we'd have to wait an hour for our food, I doubt we would have ordered. Eventually we asked for a refund if they wouldn't be able to accommodate us or give us our food. The cashier kind of stalled, then gave us our food after another 15 minutes. Do not waste your time or money. Go to HMart, or any of the other Korean places in Duluth or Doraville. Best Korean fried chicken I've ever had! The place was really busy, but we were able to snag a table. Self serve gloves, utensils, paper tray, and water. Takes a minute for the food to come out but when it does, it tastes insanely fresh. Between the 2 of us, we only finished half of the chicken and 1/3 of the fries (which really helps cut the heat of the chicken between bites). We tried the honey garlic chicken and rose chon. My boyfriend didn't like the rose chon and they switched it out easily since the sauces are already on it. This is bone-in chicken, not boneless. The ramen on top is fun and tasty - it is creamy and just a little spicy. The fries were perfect, not too fat or thin, and not too salty like a lot of places. The kimchi fried rice was good but I would have personally liked more of the aioli-like sauce they had on the plate. The portions are large, me and my husband ate about half of these three dishes. Saw this place on Instagram so we decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint! The food portions were surprisingly huge and filled us up quickly. We tried the Kimchi fried rice and the "snow cheese" fried chicken. The fried rice was quitee spicy (but I also have a low spice tolerance...) but extremely delicious and I loved the flavoring on the snow cheese chicken (not spicy at all). I can tell that the food is cooked per order because I have to wait. First I tried the salad bowl. It was sooo good.
