Sorry y'all I don't get the hype. Social media has been blasting off about how great this place is so I went with some friends. We basically ordered almost everything on that menu from the fries to multiple options for the wings. The one thing we noticed is that everything is absolutely just drenched in sauce. So fries come out soggy. Wings are soggy. Everything is just overly sauced and soggy. Also not very hot which is odd since we dined in so not sure why our food would be cool by the time it came to us. Service is fine and friendly. This is definitely a casual joint. And it got very packed in the late afternoon around dinner time. Maybe it's because there's no other Korean fried chicken restaurants in the area? And then the tingly spicy sauce was delicious! We also got the rose tteokbokki was SO good. Rich deep flavors, with Asian zing. I don't like tomato-based things, but this was still amazing. The Galbi plate was also delicious, but not the show stopper. Even the japchae noodle side was fresh and tasty!! Service: The lady was so nice at the counter! Explained so much to use. Definitely my new favorite Korean fried chicken place around Atlanta. To start off, the inside is so cute and well decorated. The staff helping us was incredibly helpful and guided us through the entire menu and gave us some great suggestions. My partner and I ordered the spicy Jeonju chicken, which was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet and savory. We got the mild because we don't like anything too spicy, so this was great for us. It's my fault for not looking at the prices before I made the drive here but I was actually shocked at the price of the fried chicken. I understand that it's meant to serve two but I wish they had the option to get less because $36 for fried chicken is STEEP. I got the Mal-la (medium) flavor which wasn't really what I was expecting. It was spicy and almost smoky. It reminded me of curry but it was not my favorite. The chicken is fried with a thin, crispy shell which is good. I hope it reheats okay because I'll be eating it for the next 2 days. I really wish they had the option to get 1-3 flavors since they keep the sauce on the side (for to-go orders anyway). The mega fries were really good! Loved all the toppings, they worked really well together and the fries were fried perfectly. The restaurant is small but set up well with lots of tables, though there is no clear spot to wait if you're doing a to-go order, so you end up taking up a table. Thankfully it wasn't too busy when I was there. The wait after ordering was 20-25 minutes as they're cooking to order but it was a bit longer than I expected to wait. Overall I would say the price will be a huge deterrent from coming back. Kimchi fries are everything! I think I found my new favorite food! We went in on Saturday night and the place was hoping, but we quickly placed our order to go. It took a while, so next time I will order ahead, but it was worth every second of the wait. The staff were very kind, packaged our food carefully and it was so piping hot the chicken was still steaming when we got home. I also really appreciate that they packaged the sauce separately for the chicken so it wouldn't get soggy. Pro move! But the star was the Mega fries that I will dream about for the rest of my life! We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday night and had a 40 min wait. Very busy on a Friday night. Wait time was about 45 mins. We ordered the famous red buldak chicken X spicy and the mega fries. People were constantly coming in and the servers looked overwhelmed. It got pretty crowded and unfortunately there's nowhere to wait inside. We were able to get seating on the barstools and our food came out in about 20 mins. Everything is self serve. Napkins, water, utensils are all at the back behind the cash register. The batter on the crispy chicken was flavorful but the noodles were too cheesy and creamy and not spicy at all which was a bit disappointing. Not for the faint of heart! Both because of the wait and the volume of food. Portions are large and most are meant to be shared. A friend and I came on Saturday afternoon around 3 and split an order of buldak chicken and the signature fries. Both were delicious but heavily doused in their respective sauces and toppings. For me, I think it was a little overwhelming since the fries started getting soggy and the chicken really didn't have too much going for it if you didn't add the topping. As far as the quantity, we barely finished and that served as both of our lunch and dinners. Despite the time of day the restaurant was full and remained full the entire time we were there. The wait to be seated wasn't bad but once we ordered, it took at least half an hour. I can't imagine what it would be like during dinner rush. Overall it was a solid experience. Finally got in to a new-ish spot by the house. Review is based on ordered in restaurant and carried out. Vibe-New, bright and clean. Didn't smell like a dingy fried chicken joint, even thought that's the bulk of what they cook. Menu is streamlined, but definitely ask questions about what you should order and how it can come. From order to walk out the door it was 45 minutes. They weren't terribly busy, but steady enough. Pricing was a little high, but it's Johns Creek and I'm sure rent is super high and their food costs have to reflect that. Food and tip $110.00. Food: Mala Chicken-It packs a punch and it builds heat like a summer day in the South...watch out! With that said it was delicious and makes you suck air in to try and cool your mouth down. Super tasty either way! Kalbi Plate(#1)-The meat was perfectly cooked and the marinade was fully present. Was not in the least bit chewy which that cut of meat can be. Japchae was peppery and fresh-wasn't expecting it to be a good as it was, because Japchae never ages well...but it was gooood. Cabbage salad, pickled radish and Kimchi-Standard...can't really offer more than that. Once you've had them, they are familiar and taste like they should. Only negative I've got was with the steamed rice. It was dry and overly sticky, which I'm sure was due to the age of it. I will say fresh it would be fragrant and of good quality...but it was just tired and ready to quit for the day by the time it was given to us. I tried this place for the first time recently. Actually it was the first time I tried Korean fried chicken. It was really good. The place was packed. But the line moved quickly. Most of the dishes are geared towards family servings as you can see in the picture. This is the normal serving size on the plate. I didn't take a picture of my single serving plate. I had 3 pcs of chicken , noodles with vegetables and rice. I really enjoyed the chicken. It was spicy without being too hot. It's a place to definitely come back to. I really hate to say this, but the kimchi jjigae is better than my mom's. :( It's so awesome to have legit Korean food in Alpharetta. I really only got to try a sample of the menu, but everything we had was great -- kimchi fried rice, kimchi fries, kimchi jjigae, Korean fried chicken. We got enough to share for 5 people and walked away about $65 lighter -- reasonable prices! Korean fried chicken here is so, so good -- better than Choong Man, better than Joy Pizza & Chicken! I tried the Gangnam version, but honestly, I like the original best since you can really taste the seasoning and spice. My favorite thing, though, is the kimchi jjigae. It's layers of flavor and depth, served with lightly seasoned rice, a fried egg, fried spam, and japchae. It's like ... everything I want to eat together when my mom would make food. I heard a ton of great things about Kimchi Red and saw it featured on some Alpharetta page. They close quite early on the weekdays so it's been difficult to visit but we finally made it on a Saturday night. Of course, extremely busy. It's a small restaurant in the same plaza as Dunkin Donuts. Parking lot was full and we had to park in the back just from the amount of people waiting to be seated, to go orders, and people visiting other establishments in the plaza. We didn't wait terribly long to be seated for 6. For chicken, we ordered the mala, spicy jeonju, and kimchi. We wanted yang yum but I think they sold out or didn't have it that day. Chicken plates are $30-$35 plus $2 for boneless. We ordered boneless for the kimchi one. We also ordered kimchi fried rice and japchae tteokbokki. Mala wasn't very mala, but not bad. Jeonju was too tangy/vinegary for my liking, but the other half of us enjoyed the over tang. Kimchi flavor was a favorite - tasted like kimchi lol. Kimchi fried rice - it would be better if it was slightly drier for my taste but comes with a nice egg on top, but $13.99 is steep. Japchae bokki was the least worth it dish at $14.99. The rice cakes were extremely overcooked and too soft, not a ton of sauce, doesn't come with a boiled egg, and it didn't mix well with the taste of japchae. It was our least liked and most not worth dish. Serving size was also small. Those taking orders and bringing out dishes were nice and able to bring us things they ran out of. However portions seemed off as our jeonju plate was much smaller than the other two chicken plates. Not sure how it is weighed/measured. As another review mentioned, we also noticed that we didn't have drumsticks in our mala plate but maybe we missed it. read more

I couldn't wait to write this review! I first heard about this gem on Instagram. After seeing this beautiful power of noodles and chicken, I had to have it! It's busy, it's a pretty popular spot and waiting in line is so worth it I promise you. Despite the rush, everything came out so fresh and delicious. We waited about 20 minutes to order and then another food but until the food came out. The environment is lively, of course, because of the crowd. It is very clean and you can tell the staff is organized. Let me start with the Kimchi fries! OHHH MY GOODNESS! I'd eat this a thousand times a day every day. Recently heard this place made a list of best fried chicken spots in the USA, so I decided to check it out. This place was packed when we got there with a 25 min wait on food. We got: Fried chicken (spicy jeonju) 29.99 The flavor was really good. In fact by looks alone we could see other flavors of chicken looked delicious. It's important to note that Korean style fried chicken is cut differently than American style. This is always the case at a Korean chicken place. The Korean chicken cut is definitely superior as it minimizes bones and makes pieces like the breast meat more ike a thigh. Hig hly recomended! Tteokbokki 13.99 This is a favorite Korean street food dish. I didn't love the texture or flavor, but it was much improved by adding some gochujang paste. We probably wouldn't get this again here. Beef mandu 14.99 These look like giant (i mean giant) pot stickers, and they're fried. They come with a small side of tteokboki and lightly seasoned white rice.
