    Pickled radish- very lovely
    Kat S.

Three cheers for chicken cooked right! I accidentally stumbled upon it while make a stop near by. It is almost hidden at the end of the row of storefronts. One can order just as you step in the door or get a table. I sat myself but maybe you are suppose to wait to be seated when it is busy. The menu goes in a lot directions from soup to appetizers to a whole or half chicken... I was there for crispy wings! There are several flavors and I asked the server for help. She wasn't a spicy fan so she steered me towards the garlic and honey/honey and soy wings. I ordered the small, 6 wings. The pickled radish was my side- you can choose a can of soda or cole slaw . Out came a small dish of the pickled radish followed a little later by 8 wings. The server explained that they typically have jumbo wings but that's not what they had today so they added another one to make up for it. That's a 5 star review right there! The wings were hot out of the dryer, perfectly seasoned with a sticky sauce that wasn't coated and drippy but rather just the right amount for a great meal and not 50 napkins and new shirt. What a gem! They are doing it right!

The food was amazing here. I ordered to go and the food still tasted fresh by time I got home. The environment is very nice. The service was also great and very attentive. I will definitely become a regular here. The honey garlic chicken is very flavorful and the fried rice was perfect.

Good food. Good fried chicken. I would return. Just as good as Kimchi Red. A bit more convenient to my house.

The food is unique, clean, well thought out with flavors that interest both the traditional Korean pallette, and those who are looking to dip their toes into the Korean cuisine. The coffee and baked goods weren't too sweet (which is a compliment to the korean baked goods industry) 2. The environment felt personal, thoughtful, and intentional. From the Art on the walls, to the chair socks on the feet of the chairs, you knew that care was put into everything. 3. It is truly a family run business as every employee seemed to be connected in one way. The owners, Jeanne and Julie stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our meal, and a quick stop turned into a 10 minute conversation about their history and passion of this business. I had the Pork Belly toast (Braised Pork Belly, Soft Scrambled eggs, arugula, and gochujang mayo on a really good Sourdough toast). Not greasy or gamey, and just large enough to have for lunch. To drink it was the Iced Hojicha Latte. I added some sweetener which balanced out the earthiness of Hojicha. My wife had the OG Bibimbap with Beef and Purple Rice (Purple rice FTW). It too was a great balance of traditional and modern Bibimbap. She had a Citron Tea that warmed the "Heart and Seoul" I can't wait to go back to explore the other items on the menu. Updates to come.

We got spy garlic and spicy sauce on the side. The food came out quick - and it was a lot. We ended up having to get a to-go box. Everything was good, but our favorites were the potstickers, the drums and bulgogi fries. The coleslaw was a nice light finish too. The three of us could t finish it and took 2 of the 4 wings home with us. The service was friendly start to finish and we all agreed we'd be back!

Running errands near Avalon took a sharp and unexpected turn the moment I spotted Bonchon. To say I…read morewas excited would be an understatement. This is the kind of place I used to frequent back in the San Francisco Bay Area, the kind of food that does not just satisfy a craving but completely takes over your mood. I am fairly certain my driving became questionable for a moment as I made a very committed turn into the parking lot. Walking in felt like a reunion I did not know I needed. Korean fried chicken, done right, is a very specific kind of joy. It is crispy, it is loud, and it does not apologize for it. Bonchon delivers on all of that. We went big and ordered the 30 piece boneless mix with soy garlic and Korean BBQ, because restraint did not feel appropriate for the occasion. The chicken came out exactly how I remembered it. Perfectly double fried with that signature crunch that somehow stays intact even under a generous coating of sauce. The soy garlic had that sweet savory balance that keeps you reaching for just one more piece, and the Korean BBQ brought a deeper, slightly smoky flavor that made it impossible to pick a favorite. It was less of a meal and more of a full experience. We also added pork potstickers with a soy garlic glaze, which felt like the correct life decision. Crispy edges, tender filling, and just enough glaze to make them disappear faster than intended. At some point I stopped pretending I was sharing. The place itself was spectacularly clean, which immediately stood out. The only hiccup came with the service. The staff were not unfriendly, but they were occupied at the register and did not notice that our order had been sitting behind them for a bit. We eventually walked over to check if it was ours. That extra wait took a little away from the experience, and the chicken was not quite as crisp as it should have been by the time we got it. It is the only reason this lands at four stars instead of five. There is something about finding a place you loved from another chapter of your life in a completely different state. It feels like a small win. My husband may not have been convinced that seventy eight dollar shorts were a good investment, but I would argue this detour more than made up for it. If you are anywhere near Alpharetta and have even a passing appreciation for fried chicken that takes itself seriously, this place still absolutely delivers. My heart, and my appetite, were very content.
