Being from Hawaii we know good Korean food... but let me tell you, this place blew our minds!!! The food was so authentic and everything was on point with flavor! We drove 5 hours round trip from LA to try this after seeing amazing reviews! My whole family couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was the whole car ride back to LA! Once we got back home, they were "fighting" over the leftovers LOL. The service was amazing! All the staff from the cook to the most attentive server we had, to the gentleman that filled our waters... it was such a welcoming and awesome experience! I've become a little bit of an obsessed regular of Kimchee Korean, but when the food is this delicious, how could I not be?? I've had my eye on their whole fried chicken since seeing a picture of it on Yelp and a video of the audible crunch. The chicken was heavenly. Light yet full of flavor. Finally gave this place a try. First off, this place is located in a plaza with plenty of parking and are next or close to other amazing spots like Trader Joe's. The place itself is pretty clean, spacious and organized. The servers were super friendly and accommodating. Got their army stew and boneless korean fried chicken. The army stew was a little too hot for me but it was good. The broth, noodles, sausage, rice cakes, and kimchi complemented well with each other. Their boneless chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the outside. The sauce that it came with looked like a condensed milk but it was really good. Recently opened spot by a Korean family. The mom cooks everything fresh daily and came out to say hi to us. Food was definitely made with love including the bonchan. We enjoy all of it and it wasn't too expensive. Kalbi was very tender Soft tofu stew mild with seafood was tasty Ramen beef was slightly salty with more chewy beef but my daughter loved the ramen noodles Bulgogi bibimbap really good. The place has a nice atmosphere. I thought the menu was a little short, not a lot of options. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen with added tofu and garlic.. It wasn't too spicy. The broth was alright. I had to add some soy sauce and kimchi to give it an extra boost. The kimchi is VERY good. I'm picky with my kimchi. I hate when you can tell the kimchi hasn't been fermenting long and the flavor isn't fully saturated into the cabbage. This place... chef kiss to kimchi! I got the yangnyeum mand u (spicy pork dumplings). I wasn't expecting it to be sweet. I was hoping for more salty and spicy. But they were still good. Heard good things about this place and finally got to try it out. Friendly staff and cute little place with comfy leather chairs and plenty of tables. We ordered the dumplings and the army stew and they were delicious. The dumplings were flavorful and soft, pretty much melts in your mouth. The army stew is made in house and is probably one of the best I've ever had. It comes with cheese, noodles, spam, sausage, rice cake, and rice on the side. Unfortunately they were all sold out of gimbap already by 2pm so we weren't able to try those. The beef was so tender (you have to try it to understand) and the broth was delicious. Had a nice balance of veggies with a perfectly cooked egg. Chicken cutlet: Super light and airy. Crisp all around, not oily at all. Came with a refreshing side of cabbage salad. I will definitely order this again. Army stew: The army stew was a nice mix of spam, cheese, sausage, ttebokki, and ramen. Broth was a bit different than the tofu soup (in a good way). A very hearty meal for one! My wife and I just went here for the first time and we were blown away both by the hospitality and the food. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and you can tell it's made with care. Kimchee Korean is Bakersfield's newest Korean spot located next to Bagels and Blenders. They serve Korean comfort food (my favorite!) and while some of the includes bbq'd items, this is not a grill your own bbq spot. I can tell whether a Korean place is good or not based on their soondubu (spicy tofu soup) and I'm glad to report that there's is killer! Super tasty and flavorful. They have options for seafood, beef or veggie and it comes with purple rice and banchan. The banchans were fresh and flavorful! I can't wait to come back and try the seafood pancake. My husband and son each ordered the chicken stew, even though one dish was sufficient for two. But they each made sizeable dents in their own dishes before packing the leftovers. My friend and I have been here every week now for 3 weeks. We order the same thing every time. It is so good. The owner is so nice and i love the environment and how comfortable and cozy it is. Today's find in Bakersfield brought me to this spot. It's a nice little sit down place. I was given water and asked if I wanted something else to drink. I ordered a diet Dr. Pepper but was brought a regular one, no problem as I drink both. I wanted Chicken Ramen but the waitress informed me they had no chicken, so I ordered the mild spicy beef ramen. Let me tell you I'm from LA and OC where korean food is top tier, but this place is up there in my opinion. Just to start each and every banchan (side dish) is perfectly made. Me and my 3 friends had a long day and we needed some soup to heal us. 2 of my friends ordered sam gae tang, 1 ordered soon tofu and I was so happy to find single serve army stew (budae jjigae). Not a lot of places sell single serve army stew so that was great. All my friends were so happy with their choices and slurped up everything. We also ordered kalbi and their seafood pancake all exceptional. Boss lady auntie (eemo) and her daughter are some of the sweetest people I've ever met. I can tell the freshest of ingredients are used and I was so happy to see how clean it was, the restaurant, the restroom, all the utensils and dishware are water spot free! I had to drive back to LA so couldn't, but I saw they sell soju flights!? We ordered three dishes: the tteokbokki, kalbi, and army stew, and overall had a great experience. The banchan really hit and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The dishes were all spot on with flavor. I especially enjoyed the Hawaiian-style potato salad, which was a nice but i think it was missing corn. The purple rice is a lovely touch! The flavors across all the dishes were extremely authentic. The tteokbokki was a favorite for me, the sauce was incredible, and I absolutely loved it. The kalbi was tasty, and while I wish there had been a bit more meat, the portion size overall felt fair. the army stew had a stronger kimchee flavor than anticipated but still it was great and very enjoyable. We were able to share the one person wih two people. The service was fast and welcoming. This is a family-run business, and you can really feel the care they put into everything. There's one main server, who is the owner's daughter, and she does a killer job being attentive, efficient, and such a sweetheart. The mother is behind the scenes cooking and does an amazing job. You can tell they are an incredibly hardworking family. The ambiance is cute and cozy, with small Korean-themed decorations throughout. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and paired with the quick service, it makes for a great dining experience. My friends and I decided to try a new Korean place on Stockdale and I am so glad we did. This place was very busy when we stopped by for a late lunch. The inside has many tables in a smaller place but they make it work and they have it decorated with cute Korean memorabilia. We were able to get seated right away and even though the waitress was completely slammed with work she got us our drinks and food right away with a friendly smile. We only got water and the barley tea for drinks but it's perfect with the wonderful food. We ordered the Spicy soft tofu soup, shrimp fried rice, yangnyeum mandu, veggie Korean pancake. The food came with Banchan and the soup came with this beautiful purple brown rice. All of the dishes were mouth watering and delicious. It's a very small space with only ten tables and a few counter seats, and the time of our visit they were very understaffed, but that's forgivable for a brand-new restaurant . The food more than made up for the lack of staff, and the friendliness of those working was very warm. We tried the boneless Korean fried chicken as a starter. It is probably the best chicken I've had in recent memory. Great flavor and texture, even without the dipping sauce, which was also good. For entrees we had Spicy pork and Korean pancake with bulgogi. Both were very, very good. The pork was served with purple rice and the pancake came with a yummy sauce with scallions. This place is a gem! I have been here 4 times since their grand opening. It is a cozy, ma and pa shop with amazing authentic Korean food. The best evidence? This place is crawling with Asian customers. Last time I was here the owner of a high profile Thai restaurant was sitting next to me and loving the food. The chef is a wonderful grandma who comes and talk to the customers whenever she has a moment. The waitress is the daughter who is super friendly and bubbly. And the food is incredible. Today I'm having the kalbi plate, it is aggressively seasoned, on a bed of white onion which soaks up the delicious sauce. All the small side dishes were delicious, tastes like home made.
