From Compton to LA, all for Jessica Every design I show her she does it, and it's always just what I wanted. They always offer drinks and everyone is super friendly. This nail shop is under new management. Tony has been doing my nails for over 20 years. I have and will follow him wherever he goes. I just sit in his chair now and let him work his magic. The lady named Cindy messed up my eyebrows on purpose just because she got annoyed at the fact that I asked her if the wait would take a while since it was busy when I got there. I even told her I did not want them thin. Not only did she leave them thin but super uneven. read more

If I could give this place negative 100 stars, I would. I've given this place two tries, and both times i was absolutely disappointed ! The both times i went, I got the older man who works there and both times he's failed at doing my nails. The first time i went, I asked him to do coffin nails for me and the shape was nice, but he didn't do the acrylic power right. On the bottom half of my nail, it was this huge clump of acrylic powder and the other half barely had any, it was uneven and a complete eyesore. Not to mention, he made me bleed several times on different fingers, and he saw the blood but did nothing about it! On my second and last visit, which was only two days ago, i asked for coffin nails again because i liked the way he shaped them, he was way too rough with my nails and would constantly hit my nail and pull it up, which you'd know is like one of the worst pains in the world. Along with that, my right middle-finger is curved because of an accident when i was younger so it's more sensitive then others, and he knew that from the last time he did my nails, but as he was filing that nail he literally made it bleed so bad that a small drop of blood actually rolled down my finger and a lot of my skin around that nail was lifted up, and of course he made my other fingers bleed, again. But he had no reaction towards that, and he just kept going while my hand and arm were literally shaking from pain. Though i never said anything to him about it because he should obviously see that he was hurting me and stop to ask me if i was alright, but he never did and just told me to go wash my hands and that was that. After I told my mom what happened she was furious and wanted to curse him out and leave without paying, but i was just thinking about how embarrassed i would feel and just asked her to pay him and we could leave, i didn't even get my nails painted yet but he was charging so much for the nail polish that i wanted we ended up just going to a much better nail salon. Now, let me tell you about the other issues with this place. The wait time to get anything done there is extremely long, they only have two people doing acrylics and two people doing pedicures (who also do regular manicures). I waited for over two hours to get my nails done, only to get hurt in the process. Along with that, they charge you $15 for gel polish when other places charge only $10, and their 'chrome' nail polish is $25, when gel cat-eye nail polish (which is like chrome) is only $15-$17. They also don't put on your nails right, i noticed the man had put a dab of nail glue on my nail before putting it on, and i thought that it would hold them but it's only been like two days since i got my nails done and two have already come off ! read more

I've been visiting the salon for over ten years! Heck, Cindy recognizes me when I call in for appointments. I've tried other salons, and always returned to Kim Nail...until now. After so many failed attempts to obtain good service, I've finally given up. Yesterday, I endured a 2 hour pedicure along with gel color on my fingernails (no manicure, just nail color). It wasn't that long because the staff member was being very detailed. The employee was simply that slow. The gel is opaque and it looks as if my nails were done weeks ago, and the edges don't have any polish. I noticed it at the salon, but, after being there two hours, I just wanted to get out of there, and chose not to tell Cindy anything. I didn't even wait for my toe nails to dry before I walked over to Cindy, paid for the services, and walked right out. It is not in my nature not to tip, but there is always a first for everything. Eyebrows...let me discuss eyebrows. I got them done with Cindy years back. Yesterday, I was reminded of why I do not get them done with her. Someone needs to inform her that she is not supposed to use the same stick for the wax on different clients- it is NOT sanitary. Those sticks are pennies, and will not affect her profit margin!!! Yesterday, an eyebrow client asked her to use a new stick. Cindy grabbed the used stick, threw it away, went to finish a nail set, and THEN returned to do the eyebrows. It was her childish reaction to an eyebrow customer simply wanting her to meet her health concerns! But this is how the staff is...very passive aggressive. I get it, some customers have made Cindy and her staff that way, but a client should never have to remind you to use a new wax stick! The location merited two stars because they are capable of better work. Cindy used to do full sets for me when I used to get fake nails, she's done silk wrap, gel nails, and she even does designs- she's great at those services. I feel that she needs to stop hiring unlicensed workers, and go back to the work ethic that all of the staff used to have. Beyond Cindy, her husband, and Kathy, the rest of the staff is subpar...and who knows where Kathy will be in a few months. Cindy and her husband are always telling me and other clients that this employee went back to her country or this other employee is out sick for months. When you like an employee, don't get your hopes up too much that they will be there for a very long time. Tips: 1) Expect to pay $1 for using your credit/debit card. 2) If you want Cindy to help you, make an appointment. 3) Beware of parking in the plaza parking spaces. The lot spaces are small, and there is no room for two way traffic. read more
