They quoted us $125 for a visit for possible rat infestation. The visit was fine. Nothing was found. A month and a half later we get a bill for $135 dollars with a $10 PROCESSING fee. Sounds like nonsense to me. I called and they gave a weak excuse and a ridiculous explanation for the extra fee. They took off $10 for the visit. Not happy with this hidden fee. If I could give less than one star I would. I recently had to cancel my service due to poor quality of spray service and complete rude and intimidating treatment by office staff. Service techs never follow protocol from calling in advance to doing what they claim to have done on bill but don't really do what they charge for We were given wrong advice by initial service tech and bi monthly service tech did not provide complete service We were told by office lady when we canceled that if we ever wanted to reinstate service , we would be charged more than normal This is not right and whole experience was horrible read more

I LOVE Killroy!! They have been awesome in taking care of the pests in both homes I've lived in. Just recently we had a huge Carpenter Ant invasion and they came out the next morning to spray and take care of them. The ants disappeared almost immediately. Hurray!! And we talked about our spider problem too. The tech explained about the over-the-counter options vs. a real technician managing with environmentally friendly options. I really appreciated getting an education on the options and how things work. Plus I got more advice on home care in general...from chopping firewood and how to store it to garden issues and other home maintenance tips. I live in the redwood forest...so there's lots to do in this home. My previous home was a townhome in a condo complex. Again, ants were abundant and Killroy came out and sprayed (just outside), plus left me a couple of traps and how to use them, just in case the buggers returned. Well, they never returned, not in the 4 years that I remained in that residence! I love the care that Killroy takes. They explain everything and then some. They're sensitive to my pets and other concerns and have just the right solution to solve my immediate issues. In the redwood forest, spiders, ants, rats, etc. are abundant - Killroy helped me keep them out of my home. We have used Killroy for years at our Danville home (as do our neighbors) and have always been extremely satisfied. I'm writing this review out of appreciation for the free advice and costing me $0 to get rid of the thousands of bees in my parents' backyard. I was on the phone with a technician for half an hour and he was thorough in asking me about my bees infestation, educated me about why bees swarm in masses and ways on how to get rid of them - either he could spray them, or we hire a bee keeper to remove them. He went through each option, pros and cons, and in the end advised me to be patient and wait it out. So the situation was - there were thousands and thousands of bees buzzing around EVERYWHERE in my parents' backyard. They were swarming on a piece of furniture and it looked like they were building a nest to stay. Apparently there's one queen bee that flies around and sometimes she chooses a place to "rest" and she gives off a scent for ALLLLLLLLL the other bees to follow her. So the problem was, either she's just "resting" and she'll leave in a couple hours, which in result the all the other bees will follow her and leave to... OR she is building a nest, eeek! If you hire pest control, all they can do is come out a spray the bees that have are already landed, but won't be able to get the ones still flying around, and it doesn't guarantee the bees to be all completely gone. Second option would be to call a bee keeper so he can collect all the bees, but once again it doesn't guarantee the bees won't flock back to the familiar territory. So the best option he recommended would be to hope that they're just "resting" and will leave in a couple hours. There'll be some bees still lingering around, but eventually will go away after a couple days - which I followed and he was right. It worked. He could have easily just said yes I'll come over and spray them, and charge me a couple hundred bucks, but he didn't. He talked me through my pest problem and saved me some money. Thank you Killroy! This company knows their pests and how to get rid of them. They do rats, insects, etc... I like the fact that they are a local company and you don't have to sign any long term contract. We were long time customers of this company and were extremely happy with the superb service we always received from Doug. Once he retired, things went downhill FAST. Technician would always show up late if at all. No acknowledgement nor apology after we were staying home waiting for them and missing work. When showing up, only wanted to do minimal work as I kept a vigilant eye on the "work" performed. We tried to work things out with management and received very poor service telling us to "go somewhere else". So we did and have been treated like respected customers. BTW, we have prevented several friends from their poor customer service. This company showed that they didn't value the business from loyal long term customers or their friends. read more

After 2 no-shows with Terminix, we booked a termite inspection with Killroy for the house we're trying to buy. The inspector, Michael Flowers, showed up on time (actually arrived before my wife did), was super thorough, explained everything to my wife, and then again over the phone to me, and they even rushed the report for us since our bank was in a hurry. We will definitely use them for our future pest control needs. Also, they don't do damage repair because they feel it is a conflict of interest, which I think is admirable. At least that way you know when they tell you something needs to be fixed (like for us) it's not just because they're trying to make a buck. read more

October 2013 Update - Killroy set things right by me. The head of operations contacted me, apologized for the prior logistical challenges, and asked me for a chance to do the job again. The next time around, their technician arrived on-time and did a thorough job of de-webbing the outside of my house and spraying for ants. He called back for a quality check. The first time, we were down to a 90% reduction in ants. He said that this is normal, since with large colonies it can take time to eradicate them. The second time he called to check, they were all gone. He didn't ask me to update my Yelp review, but I'm doing it since it is the right thing to do. I'd give 5 stars if we didn't need to do a retake, I'm happy, and I'd recommend them to others. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Epic Fail! I had scheduled an appointment with Killroy, and made arrangements to be at home today between noon and 3 pm. The main office had told me that the technician was going to call me in advance to confirm, and narrow down the window. I hadn't heard anything from the technician by 2 pm, and I needed to run an errand, so I called the main office. This time, the technician called me, and asked what my address is again. He started asking me for directions to my home, what freeway it was near, etc. I asked him if he had a GPS. He then said, "that is outside of my service area". Next, I called back the main office, a bit agitated at this point, firm but polite, indicating that we are not getting our new business relationship off to a good start. Part way through my sentence, the office lady hung up on me. Apparently I don't have the right to vent after wasting half of my day waiting, receiving no service, and continuing to live with my ants and spiders. Bottom line...poor planning...poor coordination...poor customer service. I'll also be posting this review on Angie's list. read more

We hired Killroy to fumigate our house for termites. Killroy doesn't do this work directly, but subcontracts with a fumigation company. Our dealings and payments were to Killroy, so I'm placing this review here. Before the work, I had concerns about the roof tiles and plants, so about a week before the work was done, a supervisor, John, came out to walk the site with me. He was great--advising me on how to protect the plants and describing the precautions they take when walking on fragile roofs. I was kept well-informed about the appointment to tent the house, and the crew arrived on time--they were both professional and courteous. I didn't stay to watch the entire operation, but it was clear that their performance was in line with the expectations John set. In the end, the plants came through ok and no damage was done to the roof at all. The fumigation was performed and the tent came down on the expected day. That morning, I got a call from John explaining that openings in the tent had been cut in two places. The house had been vented of the Vikane gas the previous day and someone broke into the house overnight. The supervisor on site texted me photos of the cuts, then called to discuss the state of the house. When I arrived later that day, I discovered that most of our possessions had been rifled through and a few items, worth about $1000, were missing. I was told that standard procedure is to lock the doors and windows while the house is under the tent. There was no sign of forced entry, though a screen had been removed from one window. The Gilroy police took a report, but it's unlikely the items will be recovered. The contract with Killroy (or their subcontractor) specifically states that they are not liable for theft. I nevertheless asked if they would compensate us for the loss, but they declined--understandable, but disappointing. read more

I have been using Killroy Pest Control for almost 3 years and have been very satisfied with their way of answering the phones all the way to the person coming out to do the spraying. I have always requested Frank to be the tech. The first time he sprayed for fleas and they were eliminated for about 2 years, 2nd time he came out for general spraying and and today to spray again for fleas because the tenant thought they had seen some. He called 1/2 hour before coming out, showed up on time, very pleasant person, asked the right questions, did some investigating, recommended a solution, answered all of my questions and went to work.
