Kristine is magical and i'm so grateful to have her as part of our team. We were recommended to Kristine after binocular vision testing at UC Berkeley eye clinic. My 8 year old daughter started with Kristine about six months ago and in that short period of time we've seen huge improvements in her core strength, balance, and fine motor skills. Kristine is the most patient therapist we've worked with. She adapts her sessions to fit the interests of my daughter but at the same time keeps her focused to meet her goals. She is very thorough when preparing goals and a great resource when needing help with school work. The setup at her house is unbelievable - there is a zip-line, trampoline, tree house and a loving sweet dog, Lilly. Inside is just as awesome - ball pit, various swings, scooter board and many interesting games to help improve fine motor. Kristine's love of her job and her students is evident in their success. My daughter LOVES going to therapy each week, which makes going much easier. We are thankful to have Kristine and consider her a part of our extended family. I would recommend her services to anyone!

My daughter excited to introduce our 10 week old puppy to her friend Ms. Kristine.

He was recommended to me by our wonderful (and now retired) pediatrician in the city when we moved to the burbs. Takao is a warm, thorough and experienced pediatrician with a good sense of humor and a welcoming support staff. My kids actually like going to the Dr.'s office. He's shown us flexibility when we've needed it, and has always been incredibly responsive. For example, when my kid took a header into the couch armrest on the Fourth of July, I texted him and he called me right back from a party he was attending. He squeezed us in the next day just to make sure my child was ok, and also followed up with a phone call. This is his standard of care. I'd heard his practice was closed to new patients, but I just spoke with him and it's now reopened.

This is not the interpretation of a weary parent, this is also the assessment of a teen patient who was too respectful, polite and hopeful to call out the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the care offered when the patient knew something fresh was needed. Referral of services for other care was extremely ineffective and unhelpful, waste of time and our adult (parent) family primary care physician even told us the doctors, locations and services that were suggested by this office were the scariest and not good places or doctors. We learned the hard way that the referrals were stale, We spent a lot of time trusting the referrals and trying to find our solution. This was precious time lost while being bullied at school that the child could have used to make progress rather than struggle. Current era bullying is a topic not well understood by this office and this office is not equipped with finding the right fit for care. The Rx were only a benefit to Pharma and have scary side effects that were counseled to the parent as 'most kids' are on these meds these days, that's not a good basis to counsel a parent. You'd think a professional with decades of experience would have a better assessment of efficacy. An office like this with the cost of visits, which were also a billing focus and priority for the office, should have an excellent top tier network and fresh ideas, with cutting edge care referrals. At the prices charged (especially for a HDHP deductible situation), there's a lot more out there in the services field; a simple good therapist approach is best. My kid also did not have confidence and trust in the doctor or staff. Experienced professionals should recognize this and immediately tell parents and help them find another primary care provider where the kid is comfortable; instead of shielding their findings from the parent, regardless of patient age and confidentiality. We got a simple "I'd like to see the patient again in 2-4 weeks, can't quite figure out what the problem is ..". Chaching$$$$$ more visits. Suggest: Prioritize care and reduce poor referrals. Prioritize care over billing codes. For bullying that causes anxiety, develop better resources, help parents expose the problem, not hide it in confidentiality presumptions. Stop dragging out the recovery and stop the prescription of depression drugs that don't work, and only benefit big Pharma and are impacting a teen brain that is still developing way into an individual's early 20's. Also the documentation in the medical records was inconsistent and troubling enough that it was a last straw. Under the guise of confidentiality, things were blocked so only the office could see notes and appointments and the documentation and records were inconsistent. We were told patient and parents could not see the visit notes, appointment times, etc under the guise of confidentiality. This is not correct, we are allowed have access, at a minimum the teen should have access. We now know this because our visits with other providers in the last 8 months have the same legal standards and in the same network of children's Benioff/ Alta Bates/ and John Muir networks these recent office visits and documentation share much more than this office did, and we were told by this office that neither the kid nor parents could view it based on the software and rules of confidentiality. Obviously, by equal comparison with other providers, this issue is mismanaged by this office and their statements are not accurate Our expectations for our kid as the patient and as parents for records review were VALIDATED by these newer providers as reasonable and normal, legal. It makes me think this office didn't know how to use the online system or they were over-interpreting and over-applying some rule they misunderstood. The patient has a right to see the entire file and notes and it is important for their health record. Their peer providers prove this office's record management and teen confidentiality protocols as flawed. Professionals are supposed to lead, not create more problems. Regarding time, network resources, cost and ability to problem solve, and ensure better outcomes....... There's a lot of other options out there, God bless and good luck.

First off, the location of this office is very far and inconvenient, which I didn't mind since it was for my child. The medical assistant was very rude and not friendly at all. She seemed very annoyed that my child was even being seen at this office, but that is not the worst part. Once Robin Meezan entered the room, I told her that I was there to get a school physical for TK, and to establish new care. She said that she was not "the best person for this" and basically flat out refused to be my son's Dr. Why do you ask? It's because I had other appts with other pediatricians (which were canceled) due to scheduling conflicts, distance, convenience, whatever!! My point is, it shouldn't even matter! If you are a Dr, I don't think it's ever appropriate to deny to any patient, PERIOD! Once she rudely said this to me, I was so upset and got up to walk away. She stopped me and said, I will still give you what you need today (in a condescending tone), probably due to insurance purposes. After an uncomfortable ass appt that took about 10 mins in total, the rude medical assistant proceeds to come in to give my son his vaccines. I asked if we could give him the shot in his leg, but she says "at this age, it's in the arm" and pokes him really hard, not caring if he was scared or not ready. Unless you are White, filthy rich and drive an expensive luxury vehicle; please think twice about coming here. You better believe that I will be filing a complaint with John Muir and my insurance. Summit Pediatrics is far and away better than Walnut Creek Pediatrics based on how they're run and how easy it is to get a hold of someone, get calls back, and be seen immediately. After a brief call with an employee named Paolo, who spoke positively about the clinic, I shared the information with my relative. In hindsight, I realize that in my desperation, I may have overlooked warning signs. At the time, I did not realize Paolo is not a medical professional, even though he was the first person discussing treatment options. The clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Nilda Agnes Abellera, who is board-certified in PEDIATRICS but whose clinic advertises integrative medicine. My relative traveled from out of state to begin what was described as an "intensive" 20-day cancer program. According to her account, the first three days did not feel intensive. She reported that infusion rates appeared slowed, staff could not explain the scientific basis for some treatments, and the doctor missed a planned medication review. She also observed what she believed was dried blood on a chair and described an IV bag fully draining while the needle was in place, which worried her. On October 9, 2025, she said her care was terminated immediately after raising concerns, without timely written notice, referrals, or arrangements to ensure access to medical care until she could establish care elsewhere. Referrals were only provided after I contacted the clinic. This abrupt termination caused a delay of over a month in her treatment and worsened her PTSD symptoms. She also tried to obtain her medical records multiple ways. On October 10, she requested them in person but was denied. She also submitted a written request and used the clinic's online inquiry form. As of this writing--52 days later--she has not received her complete records. When I called the clinic, Paolo was tense and dismissive, and I could not speak directly with Dr. Abellera. Given the situation, I became concerned about whether proper procedures were followed and intended to file a complaint with the Medical Board of California. Additional observations and concerns (personal experience): Family-run structure: The clinic is owned by Dr. Abellera. Paolo appears to manage many aspects, and another family member may also work there. This raised questions about oversight and role clarity. Online reviews: Of 32 Google reviews, 5 were five-star without details. Only one mentioned "cancer," making it hard to evaluate patient experiences compared with other clinics with hundreds of detailed reviews. Difficulty communicating with the physician: My relative and I tried to speak directly with Dr. Abellera; she did not speak with me, and my relative felt the doctor was unwilling to address her concerns. This lack of communication was alarming given her serious diagnosis. Cost vs. expectations: The program cost approximately $1,800 per day. Based on my relative's experience, the services did not match the program description. Others may feel differently, but this was our impression. Social media promotion: Paolo participates in Facebook groups promoting the clinic without identifying himself as an employee, which seemed misleading. I have included a screenshot for reference. In more than a decade in healthcare, I have never witnessed a more concerning divergence from a physician's duty to do no harm: terminating care without notice, effectively leaving my relative without immediate, comparable care options while facing life-threatening cancer.

Got in and out without much trouble. They did a basic review of my condition and made sure to talk…read moreabout things I should look out for. The assistant was helpful and made the process easier. It wasn't anything fancy but I felt like it was handled right.
