    Bacon burger

We're regulars here, & every time, it's 5! Friendly & efficient staff, clean facilities, & above all, GREAT FOOD!!! This evening (a Saturday in July) we had: a bleu cheese bacon burger, a regular bacon burger, garlic fries, & onion rings. All were delicious. The rings were perfection! Crispy & sweet, & the onions didn't slide out of the breading (yay). The burgers had that wonderful grilled flavor, just scrumptious! We were going to get soft serve cones, but were too full. (Next time!) - I admit we were also a little cold from the A/C; I was glad I had a sweater! They currently have a blackberry shake which I think I'm gonna have to go back for SOON! Parking is a little tight: 3 regular & 1 handicapped space on one side, & I think just 3 spaces on the other side. But there is some street parking too. - It's worth it! Btw, they have some really tasty fish & chips, & it's the cheapest in town!! Plus they play great music from the 50s thru the 90s, which we REALLY ENJOY!! Highly recommended!!!

Not a bad place to get a quick burger, obviously going to be a little better than big fast food chains in the city. I ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger which was pretty standard to most burgers I've had, so it was good. The Side Sampler I ordered came with onion rings and these little fried balls. Those were just okay, kind of dry when I tried them. Service is usually friendly, the lady that works front register is attentive and charismatic when I have came here a few times.

What do I love about Kidd Valley? [aside from everything?]. You know what you're going to get and you're going to get it in quality and quantity. There's nothing super fancy about Kidd Valley, but if you're in the mood for a great burger or fish or chicken sandwich with tasty O-Rings or mushrooms, Kidd Valley is the place to get it. Maybe get a shake too while you're there. On the drive back from a recent road trip we were in the mood for some KV. [Apparently they're owned by the same people who own Ivars? Who knew?!]. Anyway, we had the Firehouse Club and the Fish sandwich. They were big and tasty. I was particularly impressed with the size of the Fish Sandwich. The firehouse club even had a good 'cheese pull'! We also had the side sampler which was half onion rings and half mushrooms. Food came out hot and fresh, workers were kind and efficient, dining area was clean. ALL GOOD!

Food was fresh and I highly recommend the Walla Walla onion rings. Deep fried mushrooms also the excellent! Food is prepared as ordered and well worth the wait. Tartar sauce is made in house and is great with the mushrooms or onion rings Thanks Dawn for your assistance!

Happy to see the neighborhood burgers and seafood joint still going!strong Fresh fish and ingredients hand pressed fries. Cashier was attentive and friendly and old school music added to the historical ambience for me.

4.5 stars. We ordered online for pick up. Got a cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, fries and a banana milkshake. All were delicious! Every burger comes with lettuce, tomato and KD sauce. Adding onions (grilled or raw) was not any extra charge. The lettuce was shredded, which was nice and different than a leaf you'd get at other burger places. KD sauce is also more like a thousand island - note there is relish in it. The bacon burger was NOT jipped on the bacon - at least 4-5 half strips - so that was awesome!! Milkshake was made fresh as I collected the order. Banana pudding like flavoring and very tasty. Only wished the fries were cooked more...they weren't that crispy or cooked through. Kinda like sorta cooked floppy potato sticks. Everyone who gave negative reviews must be super picky or must be trippin' cause I would definitely return and look forward to do so!

Stopped in on a recommendation and had a pretty good meal! The restaurant was clean and the staff was very courteous and helpful. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, substituted my fries with the side sampler (onion rings and fried mushrooms) and a medium chocolate shake. Altogether my meal broke down to about $13 and it's a good value for the amount of food that I got. The burger came with a good beef patty, several strips of bacon, crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes. The sampler was fun because I got to try the onion rings and also the fried mushrooms (which are actually really good with the tartar sauce). The chocolate shake was super thick and tasted fresh but also tasted like it was made with Hersheys chocolate syrup if that's your thing. In addition I also ordered a peanut butter milkshake which actually I really liked more than a chocolate because it tasted like Reeses peanut butter. Overall I'd give this place two thumbs up and recommend trying it if you're looking for just some good diner style hamburgers with fries and a milkshake.

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

He said, "No, you got the sandwich." I said, "Okay... so did you make the sandwich I ordered or not?" He said yes. I open it up and it's literally two chicken fingers, fries, and honey mustard. No Philly cheesesteak. So I asked, "If you didn't have Philly cheesesteak, why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it?" He said, "I don't know, I can put it on the side if you'd like." I said, "I thought you didn't have any Philly cheesesteak?" He walked away, came back with a side of Philly cheesesteak, and told me to put it on the sandwich myself. For $19, I shouldn't have to assemble my own sandwich -- especially after being told you didn't even have the main ingredient. Just be upfront with customers.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. Huge layout with wooden picnic style tables. Outdoor tables if you're lucky to get one. Large tanks to brew beer surrounding the room and a merch table.

I didn't expect much out of these, but they were surprisingly good. The rice is cooked perfectly, sticky and tender, yet each grain is distinctive and almost bouncy, giving great mouthfeel. The musubi seems to be dipped in a small amount of soy sauce, although not enough to cover the entire rice surface. The additional sodium isn't really needed in the first place due to the salty and meaty kick the spam on top gives the handheld snack. It's a classic combination for a good reason! (4/5) For the Food Walk special, they only give a small scoop of mac salad. I'm sure the normal side portion for $5.94 is much larger. The salad is unspectacular but solid. It's a little sweet, a bit peppery, and certainly very creamy. There's a bit of julienned carrot included that isn't particularly crunchy, being soaked in the mayo sauce. The macaroni itself isn't mushy or overcooked, so it still has some texture. (4/5) I don't usually expect much out of food court restaurants, but Aloha Plates definitely surprised me with their quality. It seems like a solid option for Hawaiian.

Perhaps the Lao Burger served there wasn't as juicy and succulent, with perfectly crisp smashed patties as I recalled? Or perhaps Taurus Ox just serves a completely inferior version. I revisited for a Friday late dinner to reach the bottom of things. This was at around 8PM and the place was surprisingly busy, with a fully running kitchen and almost all seats taken. It's a pretty small restaurant to begin with, but since the food comes fast, people don't typically stay too long. By the time our food arrived, a table had cleared up for us. Lao Burger ($18) - This Lao Burger is just as good as my first visit. Absolutely perfectly fried smash patties, completely with lacy, crispy edges that provide texture and an intense caramelized meaty flavor. I've already described the burger in detail in my previous review - what I can say on this visit is that the burger is basically identical, indicating that Ox Burger is consistent with cook and construction. The burger as a whole has the perfect moisture level with plenty of unique funky, umami-full flavors that make each bite a delight. As with my previous review, two things come to mind that detract just a tiny bit from my full enjoyment. Firstly, the burger as a whole is a bit salty for my tastes, necessitating several trips to refill my cup of water Secondly, the piece of sliced pork belly included is kind of vestigial. It seems to be only there to add additional salt, because neither the flavor nor texture are very apparent while eating. (5/5) Deluxe ($15) - This burger is somehow way messier than the Lao to eat. Upon lifting it up, a mess of watery mustard/mayo mix drips onto the plate. I think it might be from the extra moisture in the tomatoes and lettuce. And yet, somehow the bun isn't soggy at all. This burger is otherwise excellent, combing the same picture perfect smash patties as in the Lao, with the classic fixings - American cheese, bacon, pickles, and plenty of veggie mix. (5/5) I'm glad I gave the Lao Burger another chance. It's now one of my favorite burgers in the city. I'll definitely be coming back to Ox Burger for more. The progenitor, Taurus Ox, remains on my not recommended list though! Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

It is pretty small inside, but they've got a great little wooden patio with picnic tables and shade. We opted to sit out here, despite being pestered by wasps. The food was great for all adults involved. Portions of fries are generous and delicious, and come with fancy sauces (none of which appealed to me, but were appreciated by my family). The burgers are really inventive, so we all wanted to try the Lao. It's delicious. I did balk at $18 for just the burger, which is a smash patty (less beef) and I took the cheese, Mayo, and cilantro off. Eighteen dollars! No side, no drink. I might just be living in the past I guess It's really hard to order for kids here, imo. Even my non-picky kid was not about it and the toddler wouldn't try it. Thank goodness for fries, eh?
