Quality of service was great, I give the friendliness of the server and everyone else that works here a 5 star review. I ordered the philly rolls as an appetizer, I have to say I was surprised on how good they were. Outside was perfectly crunchy and the middle was warm enough that I could eat them straight away without burning my mouth at all. (Usually I have an issue with temperature of food when going to bar/grill places around this area). My entree was the rack and a half of the ribs. I replaced the fries with a Caesar salad and kept the baked beans as a side. The ribs were cooked perfectly, wasn't a big fan of the sauce but thats just a personal preference. The baked beens seemed to have ground beef in them, which I wasn't expecting. (Will probably switch that next time for the baked potato) The caeser salad was probably my least favorite thing, the dressing to salad ratio was pretty poor. (Next time will ask dressing on side) Overall I would eat here again, next time I will probably order a Burger instead though. read more

Food was pretty yummy, can't beat $3.50 pints of beer on Wednesdays and the amount of TVs is awesome! However, my bf and I were handed our check by our server without her ever asking if we were done, wanted anything else, etc. Not the end of the world but this will make sense...My bf did want another beer and so I asked to add it to the existing check and then paid. Closed out with her, tipped her 20% and that was that. We sat there enjoying the beer and then my bf went to the bathroom and came back with another one. He got another $3.50 beer from the bar. He enjoyed it at the high top we were at and our server was busy with other tables. As my bf has about 1/4 of his beer left and we are getting ready to leave...the shift MANAGER comes over to tell us that we need to sit at the bar if we are going to order from the bar OR order from our server.....mind you the ONLY thing additionally we ordered outside of our initial server was a $3.50 beer. SO if your server is complaining about that...her tip would have been $1. SO she lost out on $1 and you embarrassed yourself by coming to tell us we needed to move when my bfs beer was practically gone and we were on our way out. What an awkward situation for you and your server. I would understand if we ordered ROUNDS of drinks b/c that is taking away from the servers pocket but come ON.......a $3.50 beer is what you were wanting to come to us about. Embarrassing. read more

We came here to grab lunch and it's pretty big.. I want to say it's like a cross between an Applebees and TGIF? I ordered something Golden Mango Cart (wheat ale) which was pretty delicious..and for my entree I ordered the firehouse hamburger and my husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a side salad... my husband liked the his sandwich and got mine it was good but thought it could be spicer lol... I'm knocking down a couple stars only bc I ordered the salad and first it went to the wrong table (the waitress didn't mean it but I saw her take it to another table and when i brought up the salad she walked where she dropped it off and came back to give it to me..) then I asked for no cheese, ham or bacon bc my daughter can't have those bc of her special diet and we all clearly saw her write it down No Cheese, No ham and No bacon.. and what does the salad come with???? And salad finally comes but no dressing she had to ask what dressing I ordered again.. and then she bought the two different kind of balsamic vinaigrette out bc she forgot which one I wanted! HA! My wife and I love to ride the bike up to have a dinner and a couple drinks. We really enjoy the fish and chips, they mat match some of the best we have had on the east coast. My husband and I went to Kickback Jack's new location in Alcoa TN. Found the food to be above average. Prices were reasonable. Service by our server Jaime was wonderful. She was helpful in a couple of reconmendations and was very pleasant and attentive without hovering! Hope that the experience continues after it is open for awhile. As a person who gives everyone the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. This establishment is very racist. It does not make sense why people are treated the way that they are. I was let go for putting my two weeks in. No problem.. so I came to have a drink with my friend and was told I had to go because I have been banned for 90 days. The police were called and four of them showed up for me because I refused to leave when I hadn't done anything wrong. Now I'm told that I can't return to this establishment for no reason when I didn't cause an issue when I was dining in the restaurant. Police show up and now I am banned forever for what? Food was fine. Nothing spectacular but good. My main issue was that I ordered a light beer and it came out looking thick and milky, like a blue moon or something. I told the waitress I'm highly allergic to organges and needed a replacement because it didn't look right. She came back and said it was right and that I was the second person to ask about the way it looked. Well I was scared to test my luck so I asked my husband to try it. He said it was definitely a blue moon and set it at the end of the booth. When the waitress finally came back I requested a wine instead. Allergies are just not something to play with and if I wasn't the only one with an issue why not investigate further? If you saw the kitchen and how dirty it was you wouldn't ever want to eat here. Fries are left out by the back door, where the trash is piled up, for hours on racks. Hand washing is damn near non existant in the building by any staff. Main manager is rude and very self entitled! read more

I've now been here several times on business and never left a review hoping this issue would eventually get fixed, but no. This could be the BEST sports bar in Pinehurst area....EXCEPT. It smells like an ash tray . I understand they allow smoking on their semi-outdoor bar/patio area, but every time a server or patron opens the doors in between .....a wave of smoke enters the main dining room so the entire inside smells like an 90's rock club. There are ways to not allow the outside air to enter the indoor area. Do those of us a favor who don't smoke and please consider installing a fan system to prevent this. read more

My husband and I decided to come here on a Friday afternoon to celebrate another successful semester down. We were greeted by super friendly staff and zero wait. Neither of us had been here before but it has a very similar setup and atmosphere as BWWs, Chili's, Applebee's, or Bad Daddy's. Our server was really nice, and the drink menu and specials were reasonably priced. Highly recommend the ultimate margarita and the rum bucket. I loved the drinks but I feel like the food was lacking, and it wasn't really all that special. The menu could definitely use a pick me up, to give it some personality. The bathrooms were in need of attention, and it was only 4pm so I'm not sure how often they are checked. read more

Okay so my wife and I went to kickback Jack's last night looking to have a good time. We ordered our appetizers they were okay, then ordered food to go. I ordered the 10 oz steak. We got home I realized my steak was very small and it just so happens that I have a scale, so I weighed it and was less than 7 oz. I called the restaurant and told them that my steak weighed 6.5 Oz and that I thought they had gave me the seven ounce steak instead of the 10. Do not assume he is the one paying for dinner because I was paying that night, so if you wanted a nice tip maybe you should haven't been eye fucking my boyfriend the moment we sat down. I'm unsure how to assign a rating but let me try. We've always enjoyed Kick Back Jacks. We always sit outside at the picnic table. Our bar hostess automatically brings our favorite beers to the table prior to getting our order. She remembers us. We love the outdoor friendly atmosphere and the food is good!! We recently got a puppy so not seeing either a pet friendly or no pets, sorry policy- I called the restaurant. The very pleasant young lady answering the phone said she wasn't sure of their current policy as it had changed frequently but she would ask the manager if I would please hold. She returned saying they would be happy for the puppy to come but only at the picnic tables. We we're delighted and went into Kick Back Jacks that very afternoon a little more than an hour after the phone call. Upon arriving we were asked to leave immediately. When we told the bar tender ( not our usual one) that we had cleared the puppy just an hour ago and we were told it was with management. She checked with the team leader who said she had check with management and only service dogs were allowed. Needless to say we challenged the decision but because I didn't doubt the veracity of the young lady answering the phone and didn't take her name apparently the restaurant had no accountability. So it became my fault. My point is wait staff are stressed I get that but customer service isn't dead. Diffusing situations with "I'm so sorry we mislead you", "I know we can't serve you but what can I do to make this better " or I will make a sincere effort to improve staff training on this topic!!! . Where to begin. As those who know me know, I'm a bit food particular. Which is a nicer way of saying food snob. It's not that I'm all nasty about food..it's just two basic rules.... If I can make it at home, why am I paying to eat it at a restaurant and second, and most important, I have around five thousands days left to eat while in this world, life is too short to eat lousy food. The good news is Kickback Jacks is not lousy food. Is it great, no. It has some pluses though. The atmosphere is loud, sports bar and if you like that it's all good. I'm not either way on this one. Could have taken a quiet evening, but they had bowling on, so they won me. The service was excellent. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and accommodated our requests. On to the food. This is mostly, okay not mostly, all bar type food. a lot like many chain restaurants. The fire cracker shrimp were fresh and cooked nicely, they were spiced well but I could have done with less goopy sauce. It was good though. The fried calamari was over breaded, really, like Kentucky fried chicken on steroids over breaded. The pieces were small, probably frozen and way too over cooked. This will not be served at my funeral after my five thousand days. We all had the baby back ribs next. This is where they shined. The ribs were tender, sticky, Kansas City sticky, with absolutely no gristle, fat bits or cartilage bits. Good stuff Maynard. As well the have enough beers on tap to make a grown man cry. Oh, the sides we had were just whatever. Beans were boring but fine and the coleslaw was kind out out of the plastic tub from the store. So go for the ribs and a cold beer, refuse the sides and get a salad and you will leave happy. Oh I forgot...if you don't like cigarette smoke, the outside eating are is not going to work for you. On a recent golf trip to Pinehurst we ate here twice as it was convenient to the hotel. I have to say we enjoyed it. I am going to round up and give it 4 stars. They have a ton of food options and can accommodate big groups. One night I had a philly cheese steak and another night I had a burger. They were both good and reasonably priced. They have a ton of televisions, so there is no issue watching the game you are interested in. The second night we sat at the bar and were impressed with how the three bartenders worked as a team. While the food could have come out sooner it was understandable as they were packed. We will come back on our next trip to the area. read more

The fish and chips is my go-to, and their pizza is good as well. My hubby likes the burgers. They have daily drink specials which we usually take advantage of. Went to this restaurant with the family twice in one week while we we're visiting Southern Pines. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was awesome. Lots of TV's to watch sports once they come back on! The food was excellent and the prices were fantastic. I had the philly steak sandwich one night and the buffalo chicken wrap the other. Great place for kids as well. The kids meal was only $4.49 and included their drink. 5 stars! read more

Had no idea I was walking into a sports bar. Heard the nachos were grand and felt like having a fruity cocktail, so we headed here. 56 screens (including some in the bathrooms), to get your sports on. Since it was a Tuesday afternoon, it was pretty mellow, and I can only imagine what it would be like on a Sunday. My first time at a Kickback Jacks and it was better than I expected. It's a huge place with tons of TVs. Service was pretty fast and everyone was very nice. I got the fiesta salad and it was good. It was a bit drenched in dressing and they gave you extra dressing on the side! I got my son the kid's mac n cheese and he loved it. My waitress informed me that kids eat for 99 cents on Thursdays! There was a lot of options on the menu that looked delicious and fatty, but I was looking for a lighter option and it was hard to find. We tried kick back Jacks Friday Oct. 2nd for lunch. I had the grilled wings and my wife and son ate sandwiches. The wings were great, but the bread on both my wife and sons sandwich had a peculiar taste. We narrowed the culprit down to rancid oil in the butter flavoring used to grill the bread. We notified our waitress and ordered something else off the menu, meanwhile the server called over the manager Chris and we explained the situation. Once we received the bill I was shocked that the manager didn't comp the rancid sandwiches that were uneaten, but instead gave us our appetizer free. This was no oversight on the servers end, as we heard her ask him to override the bill. I can understand a new business trying to work out the kinks, and would not hold that against them. A manager trying to establish a new reputation should have gone out of his way to make things right, Chris instead chose to ignore the situation. I won't be returning to Kick Back Jacks and will be sure to let everyone I know of my experience there. read more

Other than size (it's considerably bigger) not unlike our other chain sports bars for ambience: barn-like and noisy. BUT, several notches above where it counts most - food and service. The hamburger was ordered medium rare and that's how it was served. Others in our group had an appetizer variety plate and a turkey BLT; both sampled and both very good. Servers seem to double up when needed - very smoothly done. All were pleasant, helpful. There when needed but not intrusive. Tripp's was one of our favorite casual dinner places and this isn't Tripp's, but it'll do for lunch in the sports bar rotation. read more
