I'm in Mississippi. Saw Lexus listed by Klan. Stopped by lot in Dallas for 30 minutes on way to San Antonio. The rest was handled remotely. Travis potash helped me find 3rd party shop to inspect car and worked with me to fix a couple items the inspection recommended. He and Kian helped me secure financing and also setup delivery to Mississippi which made for delivery in a day. Excellent experience and I highly recommend Kian and Travis.

The ruptured brake line

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had meant to write this review a long time ago, but seeing as I just got an email asking me how a year has been with my truck...what better time than now. I struggle to find words for just how shady, rude, and deceitful my experience with this dealership was. I'll try to summarize all the issues...but it's a long list. I purchased a 1982 Toyota FJ45 truck from them last February. I paid a bit of a premium on it, over third party, because I wanted a well inspected vehicle and on their site it said all vehicles go through a 150 point inspection. They NEVER had this thing on a lift nor did any sort of inspection. If they had, they would have seen how dangerous the vehicle they sent me was. I'll go chronologically. The truck arrived and I immediately noticed that the doors wouldn't lock. The lock cylinders were different and there was no key for them. They claimed "we never tried the locks because we don't get much crime here"...BS. I then noticed that the brake lights didn't work. I called the dealership and they stated the brake lights worked when they shipped it. This was a lie. It isn't possible that the brake lights worked. I traced the wiring and realized the brake lights were on the same fuse as the horn which didn't work. Someone accidentally wired a negative to a positive on the horn circuit, thus blowing a fuse every single time, as soon as the car was started. Even worse is that someone swapped the 15A fuse for a 30A fuse to try and lazily troubleshoot. What this did was cause the wiring near the horn to get too hot and MELT the wire shielding. How do you not notice this with an inspection? So, I fixed this on my own time and parts. I asked them to cover it all. A few days later, I took the car on an hour long drive on a 55mph road. When I got close to the end destination, I noticed a dragging noise and looked in the side mirror to notice a lot of smoke. Seconds later, I lost all braking power. I had my girlfriend and dog in the truck. Thank GOD I was able to coast to a stop with nobody in front of me. I hopped out to find the brake lines ruptured and BOTH rear brake calipers destroyed. The driver, rear caliper had completely fallen from the carrier bracket and jammed in the wheel. The pass, rear was hanging on by 1 bolt. The truck had a clunk sound when starting from a stop since I got it. I thought maybe it was just the old transmission. Now I know it was the calipers rotating on 1 bolt and slamming into the wheel. If Kian had inspected the vehicle, even just a little bit, they would have noticed that the bolts were loose, stripped, and too long for the calipers - having some thick, cast metal spacers put in to accommodate for the length. I was furious about this. This could have KILLED me and my family, had someone been in front of us. I called Kian and the gentleman that sold me the car, not the owner, said he they would cover it. A day later he informed me that the owner decided to only cover the lock cylinders because "it's an old truck". As someone who has owned and worked on old vehicles for 15 years, I've never once had anything fall off while driving. I've never had a hot wire routed into a ground. I've never been lied to during a purchase. I understand things going wrong on an old vehicle...like the water pump going out, or needing a new starter, but never should I expect that the brakes would fall off or the wiring be catching fire, especially on a vehicle that went through a "150 point inspection". This is when it somehow gets WORSE. I called to talk to the owner, several times. I was told he would call me back when he got back from an errand. He never called. Another day goes by and no call. I called back and was put on the phone with somebody who wasn't the owner, but presumably someone hire up than the gent that sold me the car. This guy was incredibly rude and dismissive of everything that happened. He took ZERO responsibility for anything and never admitted fault, even as I explained my reasoning as to how the vehicle could not have been inspected at all and arrived to me this way and how if a car had been in front of me or a turn been coming up, myself and my family could have been killed. He then LIED to me...just flat out lied. He said he was "in the background" when I initially called the sales rep to complain about the brakes failing. He said he overheard me state that I was "taking the vehicle offroad". This is 100% a lie. I never drove the truck off road. I was driving 50mph on a smooth 55mph road in Charleston, SC. So, either he was lying to me as a reactionary defense or the sales rep lied to him. Given his combative, macho man attitude on the phone...my guess is he fabricated the story. After a lot of arguing and him threatening to hang up, he eventually agreed to send me $750. I was tired of arguing, so I appeased and hung up. This review is character limited, so i'll end with...OH AND THE DRIVESHAFT LATER FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING

CONSUMERS BEWARE! PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT:…read more We weren't coerced or bribed with things of value to write a positive business review of Auto Merchants Inc. This is an authentic business review of our interactions with the owner/Sid S. and his employee/Octavio C. over the previous 900 days, as it relates to the owner's grossly past due insufficient funds check. NOT REWARDING DISHONORABLE CONDUCT: It's more important than ever for a consumer to do their due diligence in sufficiently investigating the individual or business they are considering investing their hard earned money with, and only reward individuals and businesses that operate ethically, legally and constitutionally at all times. This objective, to the best of our knowledge and recollection of facts and/or opinion based business review will assist in that mission, as it relates to Auto Merchants, Inc., for the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior! INTRODUCTION: An insufficient funds check is a serious civil and criminal offense that is actionable under Texas Business and Commerce Code 3.302 (holder in due course) and Texas Penal Code - Chapter 31 -Offenses Against Property (THEFT). This legal and constitutional protected business review is designed to kindly compel Auto Merchants, Inc. to comply with Texas law, and the fiduciary responsibility of their company established by the Secretary of State, and immediately resolve the balance of their grossly past due insufficient funds check on file at Lee's Check Cashing without further subterfuge and/or obfuscation and/or delay. 1. Check date: 5-2-23, check # 5980, amount: 3000.00. Receiver of funds: Octavio C. Total balance due NOW: 1500.00 + 900.00 (reoccurring administrative resolution fees) = 2400.00. FACTS OF CASE AND CONDITIONS OF THE LAW: On 5-2-23, Auto Merchants, Inc. issued a check to an employee/Octavio C. for duties/services performed. The employee cashed the check at Lee's Check Cashing, and the check was returned to the check cashing establishment due to insufficient funds, because the check issuer intentionally stopped payment on the check within hours of issuing the check. Subsequently, over the next 150 plus days, the owner of the check cashing establishment contacted Auto Merchants Inc. and/or the receiver of funds in order to compel them to comply with the aforementioned Texas check laws and resolve the grossly past due insufficient funds check. Due to the refusal and/or failure of Auto Merchants, Inc. to comply with Texas check laws, their unpaid check was delegated to the authority of the Loss Prevention Department to facilitate immediate resolution. The owner alleged (without proof) his account was 'hacked," as the justification why he stopped payment on his check. He alleged the employee was given a 3000.00 dollar replacement check and snapped; "you better check our records!" If true, he did so without using basic business common sense, in first verifying the legal holder in due course of his returned check, and if the employee deposited the initial check into his bank account or cashed the check at a check cashing establishment. The employee was interviewed to verify the owner's claim. The employee alleged he was confused and thought the 3000.00 dollars was his, since the check was written in his name. The investigator helped him realize how preposterous his claim was received, so he confessed to intentionally embezzling the 3000.00 dollars in funds that were legally required to resolve the insufficient funds at our check cashing establishment. The owner was informed multiple times in writing and text, if he paid the employee to resolve his insufficient funds check, and he refused and/or failed to resolve the check with the legal holder in due course, his check is legally unpaid, and he is legally required to immediately resolve his check at our check cashing establishment, and he may file embezzlement charges against his employee for the alleged theft of his 3000.00 dollars if he refused and/or failed to return the funds he allegedly stole from him. The owner defiantly and irresponsibly refused and/or failed to comply with Texas check laws, and instead offered to pay 300.00 dollars every two weeks until paid in full, lending to the reasonable speculation the real reason he stopped payment on his check is not because his account was "hacked," but because of poor money management and/or lack of sales revenue due to poor, substandard business practices. At the point the owner's unpaid check was approximately 250 days past due Texas law, he finally made one measly 300.00 dollar payment on 1-24-24, and subsequently four more 300.00 dollar payments on 2-8-24, 3-6-24, 4-3-24, 5-8-24 and abruptly stopped without the consent of the victim, leaving a balance of 1500.00 dollars for over 575 days; in the process ignoring two certified letters, and over 100 text and phone calls to compel him to resolve the balance.

Long story short I found a car at a different dealership that was hard to find, they were a bit stiff and offered me below value what KBB said I could get for my great condition low mileage car with premium package. The dealer where I was getting the car I wanted (I'll just say it - Audi Plano!?#$% Avoid them at all costs if you want a FAIR deal) they offered me a RIDICULOUSLY below average amount - what KBB suggested. I walked out frustrated and tired physically and mentally. Thank God I noticed Carmax nearby and thought Why Not? I walked in, there was very much a dmv feel to it Lots of people, sitting everywhere, lot's of traffic in and out. There was a monitor with peoples names/appointment times at the front desk. I thought, wow how am I going to get an appraisal on a weekend with all these people? When it was my turn the guy was very nice and said no problem, we can do that for you and he re-directed me to the business window which was nearby. I was still skeptical and cranky given what I had been through at another dealership. Business desk had a lot going on too, but they seemed to be in good spirits with each other and the people who approached them! Complete opposite from previous dealer. I was greeted by Micah (sp?) who was seemed relaxed despite the busyness, she told me how appraisals worked in a matter of fact way, when I hesitantly asked how long all this would take, she quickly said it should be no more than 30 mins with a confident smile. I was still skeptical but refused to give away my car for the measly amount the other dealer offered me. Well, I went to the bathroom, people watched and yeah about 30 mins later, she came back with my appraisal quote! way more than MORE than what the stingy dealer down the street was offering me and ABOVE KBB !! If I didn't want the other car so bad at A/P, I would've gladly told them to touch grass! But unfortunately they had what I needed. I would have felt much better to have bought from Carmax, everyone I encountered there was friendly, professional and got things done in a great amount of time! I want to thank Micah again for being so patient with me and explaining things while I was under great personal stress and timelines as well (death in the family, trade in car papers expiring etc). I sold my beloved car to Carmax in Plano, had a GREAT experience from beginning to end and wanted to let them know I appreciate them being a positive part in such a stressful weekend for me. "You don't need an inspection, we do one for you." So I got an independent inspection, and when he showed up said he really couldn't comment on paint, etc because it was very dirty. The guy actually offered to come back at no charge later if they cleaned it. The call I got when he returned was "Good thing I came back, there is a large scratch to the primer on the fender." Glad I spent the money on the inspection, but it should have never come to that. Pressure, misleading photos, misrepresented product, and junk fees. Pass on this place, for sure. I think they're just hoping someone is half asleep or stupid.

Still Waiting on Promised Windshield Replacement Zero Follow-Through…read more My husband and I purchased a 2017 Mercedes-Benz B-Class from Auto Web Expo of Plano back in August. At the time of purchase, we were promised that the cracked windshield would be replaced by the dealership. That promise was a major factor in us agreeing to finalize the sale. Months later, we are still waiting, and the communication from Mo Kavianifar (Internet Sales Consultant) has been extremely unprofessional. My husband has been going back and forth with him for months, and now Mo doesn't respond at all. At one point, Mo told us to call around and get quotes for the windshield even though the dealership themselves promised they would replace it. So we did: I work in collision and got a discounted quote for $2,234.53 (including calibration). To cover all bases, I also contacted Mercedes-Benz directly, and their quote came out to $3,277.91 including calibration and labor. Even after providing BOTH quotes -- one discounted and one from the manufacturer nothing has been done. No appointment, no communication, no follow-through. We feel completely ignored, misled, and taken advantage of. All we want is for Auto Web Expo to honor what was promised at the time of sale. A dealership should stand behind its word and treat customers with respect.

My honest experience with AutoNation Plano:…read more From the beginning to now, it has been a complete roller coaster. I went from feeling like a valued customer to feeling completely dismissed. This is my personal experience, but I believe in accountability. I purchased a 2018 F150 Platinum from this location in June 2025. My initial interaction with Josh was disappointing, but Luis, the general manager, worked hard to make the deal happen and gave me a solid value on my trade-in. At that point, I genuinely felt taken care of. But immediately after taking the truck home, problems surfaced that their inspection clearly missed. Both the oil pan and rear differential were leaking. I returned under the 90-day warranty. The differential was fixed, but the oil pan leak continued and got worse. Every time I tried to bring it back, I was told: "Service is slammed. We have over 100 vehicles ahead of you. Try again next week." This went on for weeks. Then the title and registration issues began. For 3 months, I never received my plates. Every time I asked, I heard: "These things take time. We'll call you back." No one ever called back. Eventually I contacted the DMV myself and discovered the vehicle wasn't even titled or registered in my name -- it had been transferred to the previous owner months after I bought it. Only after the State, my lender, and corporate got involved did AutoNation finally fix the issue. 3,000 miles after purchase, the transmission failed completely. I had the truck towed to AutoNation Plano, confident the Gold Warranty would help. Instead, I've been left completely in the dark. A full week with no updates, no diagnosis, no call back, and no help with a loaner or rental. Every attempt to reach someone has gone nowhere. I've been without a vehicle for days while still obligated on a $32,000+ loan -- and have felt stranded and ignored by the entire service department. In my experience, this dealership is not transparent, does not communicate, and does not stand behind their customers once the sale is complete. We are now looking into our legal options, and I sincerely hope nobody else goes through what we did.
