The food as I remember so so good if you want that southern style food that'll stick to your bones/waist lol and put you to sleep afterwards lol. Simple set up in the dining room area. They got the menu displayed on the tv it tends to transitions too quickly so I took a photo to study and know what to order when we got to the counter. Love this place will definitely come back but it'll be far in between cause it's so darn good I can't be eating this every day hahaha. Thanks to all who work and make this place what it is today.

I say if you come on Sundays you need to arrive there early because I could tell they would probably sell out of their main specials. Majority of everyone ahead of me ordered shrimp and grits. I decided to get the shrimp and grits which included 1 fried fish, 1 side. It was about $22. It was back by popular demand. Honestly, not my favorite choice on the menu. They do give you a good amount of food. My hush puppies were overcooked and hard. I got a side order of corn which was really flavorful. The fried fish was okay. The grits could have been more soft. The employees are always nice, just this time around I wasn't feeling this particular item.

It's a good idea that is limited by the number of restaurants that showcase their food & the possible Texas heat. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food) Atmosphere - Taste of Dallas takes place at Fair Park in Dallas. Now, there are positives & negatives to Fair Park. First, it's a HUGE space and parking is FAR away from the vendors. Taste of Dallas does take advantage of some of Fair Park's large buildings, so you'll get a mix of indoor & outdoor space. If the weather's good it's a great venue, if it's hot, it's a tough place to be at. There is not enough seating either, and Taste of Dallas would benefit with more indoor seating. 1/2 Star. Service - While service varies between each vendor, I'll highlight the indoor area for children. There's a large are filled with bounce houses, pony rides, and even some sporting playgrounds. I bring this up because while it's called Taste of Dallas, it's more than just food. This area is a good family friendly & fun area that lets you take a break from the heat. 1 Star. Food - Taste of Dallas is only as good as its food vendors, and while Dallas has many amazing restaurants & chefs, don't expect to see any of them here. You won't find any offerings from Dean Fearing, Stephen Pyle, Kent Rathburn, etc. You'll get some decent restaurants but you'll never feel like you're getting a true "Taste of Dallas". The one redeeming quality is this year's event showcased a large number food trucks. I love food trucks, so having so many in one place gives you a chance to visit many of them. You'll also find a large number of vendors who give out free stuff, so if you're into getting freebees it may be worth it. But at $8 a person & $12 parking there's little value. If there were no food trucks I wouldn't come back. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Only if the vendors improve. I realize the city of Dallas wants to utilize Fair Park, but I think the city could have a more successful event if they scaled it down, lured more high-end chefs/restaurants & moved to a newer site like Klyde Warren Park. Since I know that won't happen, I don't think I'll be back. No Stars. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Everyone was super respectful about personal space, In the audio was fantastic. There was a much table outside of the room as well as a small one right when you enter the room. This stage was rather small, but it also allowed the audience to see the performers pretty close up. David was super super talented. The two dancers that he had on stage also was a great addition to his vocals. Band was also really good. It was also pretty easy to get an Uber when the concert finished. We definitely recommend seeing one of your favorite artist here, especially since it's such an intimate venue compared to big stadiums in arenas

HOB is always very chilly inside and this was no exception. The decor is very nice and since it's small you always have a good view. Only 2 things I did not like. 15 dollars for a canned beer is outrageous. Shots of good alcohol were cheaper at 12.99. The bartender was less than pleasent and very crusty. Then with the show still going on she was closing down the bar. It was before 11pm and people were still wanting drinks. I would live to go here again though just for the room and the sound

Although they offered seating down low, it was constantly rotating on availability depending on the performers. If I wanted to find a seat, I could have. I mostly stood near the bar which wasn't too crowded since it was an all ages event. After standing there for about 2 hours, they did ask us to move to the end of the bar for potential customers .. there never really were more than 3 people ordering at a time, but we still moved. We got tall boy White Claws and it was the perfect sipper drink. The lighting and sound was good for the experience here and they had plenty of vantage points (including a VIP upper floor). Security wasn't bad, I didn't bring a bag, so I breezed through. There's a large parking structure right behind the TBF, so walking over was very easy too. We did initially have handicap people in our group who opted not to attend after we shared that the surrounding sidewalks were not very level and that the amount of people might be a little tricky for navigating with a walker. All in all though, I had a great time here!
