I made an appointment and arranged to fly in to see the vehicle a few days later (the night before the appointment). I was just about to leave the hotel I stayed at for the appointment when I received a text from Paul (note, no call) stating that the vehicle had been sold the day before. When I asked why I had not been informed yesterday, I was told that the transaction had been late in the day. I was more polite than I was feeling and stated that is why people despise used car sale people and the next time someone ghosts him, consider what eCarOne had done to me. A few minutes later, eCarOne spammed me with other vehicles that they were trying to sell. That put me over the edge and I replied to it telling them what they could do with those cars, unsubscribed and left similar feedback on those comments. The "sales manager" called me later that day (went to VM). After some phone tag, we talked. No apology, just the same story. Again, I was more polite than I felt. A week past and I received ANOTHER spam email yesterday. I am done being polite and again, told them what they could do with themselves. Now, this morning, I find myself mysteriously subscribed to a number of used car dealerships with the same phone number (google number) and email (throw away account) that I used with eCarOne. Interesting coincidence? Unlikely. I cannot encourage you enough to not do business with these people. They did everything in their power to uphold everything, everyone despises about used car sales.

CONSUMERS BEWARE! PUBLIC SAFETY AND SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT:…read more We weren't coerced or bribed with things of value to write a positive business review of Auto Merchants Inc. This is an authentic business review of our interactions with the owner/Sid S. and his employee/Octavio C. over the previous 900 days, as it relates to the owner's grossly past due insufficient funds check. NOT REWARDING DISHONORABLE CONDUCT: It's more important than ever for a consumer to do their due diligence in sufficiently investigating the individual or business they are considering investing their hard earned money with, and only reward individuals and businesses that operate ethically, legally and constitutionally at all times. This objective, to the best of our knowledge and recollection of facts and/or opinion based business review will assist in that mission, as it relates to Auto Merchants, Inc., for the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior! INTRODUCTION: An insufficient funds check is a serious civil and criminal offense that is actionable under Texas Business and Commerce Code 3.302 (holder in due course) and Texas Penal Code - Chapter 31 -Offenses Against Property (THEFT). This legal and constitutional protected business review is designed to kindly compel Auto Merchants, Inc. to comply with Texas law, and the fiduciary responsibility of their company established by the Secretary of State, and immediately resolve the balance of their grossly past due insufficient funds check on file at Lee's Check Cashing without further subterfuge and/or obfuscation and/or delay. 1. Check date: 5-2-23, check # 5980, amount: 3000.00. Receiver of funds: Octavio C. Total balance due NOW: 1500.00 + 900.00 (reoccurring administrative resolution fees) = 2400.00. FACTS OF CASE AND CONDITIONS OF THE LAW: On 5-2-23, Auto Merchants, Inc. issued a check to an employee/Octavio C. for duties/services performed. The employee cashed the check at Lee's Check Cashing, and the check was returned to the check cashing establishment due to insufficient funds, because the check issuer intentionally stopped payment on the check within hours of issuing the check. Subsequently, over the next 150 plus days, the owner of the check cashing establishment contacted Auto Merchants Inc. and/or the receiver of funds in order to compel them to comply with the aforementioned Texas check laws and resolve the grossly past due insufficient funds check. Due to the refusal and/or failure of Auto Merchants, Inc. to comply with Texas check laws, their unpaid check was delegated to the authority of the Loss Prevention Department to facilitate immediate resolution. The owner alleged (without proof) his account was 'hacked," as the justification why he stopped payment on his check. He alleged the employee was given a 3000.00 dollar replacement check and snapped; "you better check our records!" If true, he did so without using basic business common sense, in first verifying the legal holder in due course of his returned check, and if the employee deposited the initial check into his bank account or cashed the check at a check cashing establishment. The employee was interviewed to verify the owner's claim. The employee alleged he was confused and thought the 3000.00 dollars was his, since the check was written in his name. The investigator helped him realize how preposterous his claim was received, so he confessed to intentionally embezzling the 3000.00 dollars in funds that were legally required to resolve the insufficient funds at our check cashing establishment. The owner was informed multiple times in writing and text, if he paid the employee to resolve his insufficient funds check, and he refused and/or failed to resolve the check with the legal holder in due course, his check is legally unpaid, and he is legally required to immediately resolve his check at our check cashing establishment, and he may file embezzlement charges against his employee for the alleged theft of his 3000.00 dollars if he refused and/or failed to return the funds he allegedly stole from him. The owner defiantly and irresponsibly refused and/or failed to comply with Texas check laws, and instead offered to pay 300.00 dollars every two weeks until paid in full, lending to the reasonable speculation the real reason he stopped payment on his check is not because his account was "hacked," but because of poor money management and/or lack of sales revenue due to poor, substandard business practices. At the point the owner's unpaid check was approximately 250 days past due Texas law, he finally made one measly 300.00 dollar payment on 1-24-24, and subsequently four more 300.00 dollar payments on 2-8-24, 3-6-24, 4-3-24, 5-8-24 and abruptly stopped without the consent of the victim, leaving a balance of 1500.00 dollars for over 575 days; in the process ignoring two certified letters, and over 100 text and phone calls to compel him to resolve the balance.

Please take this for what it's worth, since every experience is different…read more 1/21 about 9am I call to confirm car is still available, Andre confirms that it is, so my wife and I make our way to the dealership about an hour away. We enter the building and I find Andre in the back office and wave at him. He makes his way towards us and we walk out to the garage to look at the BMW M235i. He starts the car and back up as my wife and I are looking at the car. Very first thing I noticed is that it is missing the tow hook cover, so I asked "will they be replacing that?" He assured me they had the piece or else they would order it. Now onto the 2nd thing, I see it has 1/4 tank of fuel, so I ask "will you fill it up if we buy the car?" Andres response was "oh yea definitely that's what we do" [remember this]. 3rd thing noticed there is no floor mats in this car, didn't get a chance to ask about it because he was texting on his phone and he sent us on our way for a test drive, but even before leaving for the test drive I see that it has mixed sets of tires, I wanted to check because it was raining and wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. We go on the test drive and the car drives well. We come back to the dealership and enter Andre's office to discuss the car. Ask him to send me carfax in the car which he obliged and it all checked out. I asked him a couple questions about the car to where he had no clue about details or the information I was looking for, but almost sounded like he was yupping me not quite paying attention because his face was on his phone texting the whole time. So he brings in a buyers sheet. My wife and I are looking over the buyer sheet and we see that the OTD price is $25000ish dollars. I start questioning why it's so much and instead of being able to explain anything Andre goes and gets his finance manager to come talk to us (at this point Andre looks a bit annoyed), so finance manger comes in and we start talking about cost and monthly payments. I explain that I need my monthly payments to be under $400/mo, not $490, not $401 not $407. But under $400 specifically because my son would be the one paying the monthly note on this car. He says he can't do anything to help with that, but then I point out why is there a fee for $1450. They called it a reconditioning fee, so I ask "what is all included in a reconditioning fee?", he gave the speal of we do a 120pt inspection, wash the car, and shine up the engine bay. I responded with "I'm not paying that", he gave me the face of utter disgust and responded with "every dealership has a reconditioning fee" to which I replied "absolutely not because I was also working with another dealership in Fort Worth where my price OTD was $21,000". I also explain to them that if they were truly reconditioning the car, that it would have matching tires, tow hook cover, matching brakes, and etc. So he goes back and removes the reconditioned fee, so we continuing discussing the price, they keep wanting more money to put down but I explained that I don't have more to put down and that I feel the gap insurance was too expensive, to which I was correct. So we ended up Walking away from the deal, not because we couldn't come to terms but my wife and I simply just did not like the smug attitude from both Andre and his finance manager. So we were back to square one again, but my son really wanted the car that Andre had and so I called to make a deposit on it, so that we could go the next day to purchase the car. Andre went ahead and took my deposit but did not inform me it was non refundable until it was emailed to me (poor communication). Come back next day and complete the deal, but to my surprise Andre refused to fill up the tank as promised and said his finance manager said NO!!! Because we refused to pay the reconditioning fee, to which Andre lied and said he told me about it when I first walked in to look at the car, said he could bring up the cameras (but never did when I asked him too). Finance manager never came back to congratulate or shake hands which I found odd. Throughout the whole process Andre did not offer any refreshments to my wife, while we watched his coworker offer it to the other customers there. He was too busy texting and taking phone calls to care about his customers.

Long story short I found a car at a different dealership that was hard to find, they were a bit stiff and offered me below value what KBB said I could get for my great condition low mileage car with premium package. The dealer where I was getting the car I wanted (I'll just say it - Audi Plano!?#$% Avoid them at all costs if you want a FAIR deal) they offered me a RIDICULOUSLY below average amount - what KBB suggested. I walked out frustrated and tired physically and mentally. Thank God I noticed Carmax nearby and thought Why Not? I walked in, there was very much a dmv feel to it Lots of people, sitting everywhere, lot's of traffic in and out. There was a monitor with peoples names/appointment times at the front desk. I thought, wow how am I going to get an appraisal on a weekend with all these people? When it was my turn the guy was very nice and said no problem, we can do that for you and he re-directed me to the business window which was nearby. I was still skeptical and cranky given what I had been through at another dealership. Business desk had a lot going on too, but they seemed to be in good spirits with each other and the people who approached them! Complete opposite from previous dealer. I was greeted by Micah (sp?) who was seemed relaxed despite the busyness, she told me how appraisals worked in a matter of fact way, when I hesitantly asked how long all this would take, she quickly said it should be no more than 30 mins with a confident smile. I was still skeptical but refused to give away my car for the measly amount the other dealer offered me. Well, I went to the bathroom, people watched and yeah about 30 mins later, she came back with my appraisal quote! way more than MORE than what the stingy dealer down the street was offering me and ABOVE KBB !! If I didn't want the other car so bad at A/P, I would've gladly told them to touch grass! But unfortunately they had what I needed. I would have felt much better to have bought from Carmax, everyone I encountered there was friendly, professional and got things done in a great amount of time! I want to thank Micah again for being so patient with me and explaining things while I was under great personal stress and timelines as well (death in the family, trade in car papers expiring etc). I sold my beloved car to Carmax in Plano, had a GREAT experience from beginning to end and wanted to let them know I appreciate them being a positive part in such a stressful weekend for me. Now they claim it's leaking from the "other side" and want to charge me $1,300 to repair it, plus the wheel issue. These problems appeared within the first 3 months of ownership. On top of that, they sold me an expensive extended warranty at the time of purchase, but now refuse to take responsibility and simply tell me to deal with the warranty company.
