The best hummus ever
Cat N.

the hummus is the best here. It was creamy, flavorful, and it has a kick from grounded pepper. Between two people, we shared beef sudjia and chicken creamy. The creamy chicken baked inside a clay pot and pita on top tasted like chicken alfredo. It was good but i'll pass on that next time because flavor was too similar to italian chicken alfredo. The beef sudjia was my other favorite. I would describe it as Jordinian beef fajita but with different spices. It was so good. I took a bite out of the pepper on top and it was actually spicy. We sat outside and it was beautiful. For those not familiar with the culture, there's a box of tissue at every table for hygiene purposes bc food is meant to be shared. Just in case you were wondering. Service was not that great, he took our order and didnt come back to check on us. He also wrote down the wrong table and we had to flag down people everytime they bring out the food but I overlooked that bc the food was so good. The area is busy for dinner

Really wanted to try Khashoka during Ramandan, but they were fully reserved every time I called. Which only made my expectations go up, but was slightly disappointed when I finally got to try it. To be clear, food was NOT bad, it was good - it just wasn't incredible. To be clear it was not fine dining, so the portions were rather small for the price. Service was great and ambiance was incredible. Will i go back? Hmmmm, maybe, if someone else wants to go. We tried: Beef shajia Chicken Shawrma Chicken liver Shanklesh Hummus Fresh Mango juice

We came in for a special anniversary lunch and this place did not disappoint! First our wait staff was so nice, gave wonderful recommendations and shows us pictures. We for sure needed to get the beet root salad, then the chicken tajin, wild zaatar and cheese pie... The bread that comes to table is warm and so delicious, poofed up and soft! Next time we so need to get the hummus and pickle dish! I have already decided! Very cozy spot, bright and I love the decor. Great for a casual lunch or even a lunch date!

The raving reviews are totally justified and Khashoka is the real deal. Khashoka means 'spoon' and is associated with leaving the spoon, using your fingers and enjoy family styled dining. The decor of the restaurant is authentic and gives a wonderful window into Jordan. Spacious and well maintained. The restaurant was bustling on Saturday afternoon but there was no wait time for a table. We were a large group and service was really good. Now for the food. Our table ordered a variety of dishes and we got to taste a lot of their signature creations. My favorites were the chicken liver, beef bajia, hummus with beef, fried cheese and the rice. The hummus is creamy and the green chilli sauce adds a wonderful flavor. For dessert we tried the kunafa and Mohallabiah. I enjoyed the Mohallabiah, was not too sweet and had the perfect balance of flavors. Plenty of parking is available but can get busy. Pricing : Not an inexpensive restaurant but there is total value for the price you pay. The portions are generous and can be shared.

We stumbled across this place while I was looking for a nearby Middle Eastern restaurant, and wow! The interior design and atmosphere are fantastic. I can't say for sure how authentic the food is, but it's definitely tasty. I wish I had tried something other than the white pan chicken sauce though. It's exactly what it sounds like: good, but not anything special. On the other hand, their hummus and beef were amazing! I'll definitely be back to try other options from the menu. They really lean into authenticity... in that there's no tap water, and the only option for still water is their $3 bottled water. We ended up getting $9 smoothies, which were rich and concentrated, so no regrets there, but I still wish there was a tap water option.

This was one of those times where I really appreciated living in DFW. Sometimes I forget that we have pockets of awesomeness all over the city. Sure, I know the layout of my neighborhood and the fabulous places around, but I had no idea there was a ton of really cool Middle Eastern restaurants in this area of town. I met up with some familiar and new faces for lunch on a weekend and was extremely impressed with everything. We ended up ordering a ton of random things and like how a group of serious food lovers should, we all shared family-style. So many things to mention, but my tops were the hummus (yes, I know, how good can hummus be? Really good it turns out!), the fried cheese, and the eggplant and beef fatteh. Seriously thinking about coming back soon just to try the other half of the menu!

The hummus Kashaka was creamy and delicious, the bread it comes with was straight from the oven, puffy and warm. I had the Lamb leg which was also great. The chicken souvlaki was also delicious And the tea? I always rate the hot tea, best cup I've had in a while. Cute little tea pot, strong flavour and a mint leaf. This place is as good as everyone says it is and the servers are friendly, happy and add to the atmosphere. Thank you Lawand!

Chicken shawarma

So cheesy and absolutely delicious - loved the texture the vegetables added to it and how fluffy their pita is. Also tried their grilled white cheese which paired perfectly with the honey on top, as well as their chicken shawarma. Highly recommend this spot if you're into Middle Eastern cuisine! The olive trees outside added to the ambiance. I will say it takes a while (20+ minutes) for them to take your order once seated, however.

Came to try this place out with a friend and the food was amazing! The restaurant gets quite busy so I recommend coming early. We came around 11:30am and there was already a 15 min wait. By the time we left the place was packed with a line of people waiting outside. We ordered the hummus (fresh and very tasty) with complimentary bread. Chicken with white sauce was delicious, creamy, and reminded me of a creamy chicken pot pie. Lastly we ordered the beef sajia which was so flavorful and was like a stir fry with beef and veggies with some spices. Dessert we ended with the khashoka sweets which was their signature bread dough wrapped around a filling of Nutella with pistachios on top. Delicious! I will definitely be back to try more dishes!

So incase you are wondering, which you are probably not, I found my new favorite local restaurant in DFW. 100% my new favorite. Service- outstanding. Although, I struggled with what to order, the waitress was SUPER helpful and kind when helping us understand each food item. Food- FRESH. Everything we had just had this wonderful flavor and tasted like they just made it. Especially, the bread and hummus. I want to try everything on the menu. Everything we got was superb. Our order: Hummus with beef Fattoush Beef sajia Chicken with white sauce Khashoka sweets Large tea pot Fresh orange juice Environment- loved the entire vibe of the place. It was like being thrown into Jordan. How lucky are we that this is the first location in the US?! KHASHOKA IS SOOO GOOD, & worth the line and wait!!

First time visit and my experience was awesome. The waiter was great. The food was delicious. Everything was made fresh to order. Water and soda is expensive however. All of our entrees were so flavorful and delicious. I would order them all again.

The vibe here is amazing! We went for dinner on a Saturday and it was packed. We ordered the beef sajia, and it was incredibly delicious -- you can really taste the quality of the meat. We also tried the Jordanian mansaf. The meat was great, though the rice was slightly overcooked. Finally, the chicken shawarma was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a great experience. The prices are higher than most places, but the quality of the food definitely makes it worth it.

What an incredible find.!!! With so few reviews, even though they were all raves, I was skeptical. I definitely did not expect a wait at about 2 pm on a Saturday, so I would suggest trying a weekday if you can. We only did wait about 15 mins, but that is rare in the DFW. I ordered on the safe side, but after seeing what other tables were getting, I wish I had been a bit more adventurous. We ordered the falafel, the hummus with beef which was a standout, the halloumi with honey, and an eggplant dip with walnuts. The hummus was especially memorable since they import the chickpeas and olive oil from Istanbul. Everything came with four fresh out of the oven pita breads that had a lovely flavor, possibly fenugreek seeds?? We devoured every morsel Service was fast and friendly, and our server Raheem was outstanding. There was something other tables were ordering that looked like a savory chicken pie with dough baked on top, and we are absolutely getting that next time. And there WILL BE many next times here!!. They really make a big deal out of birthdays here with drum banging and singing, which was fun to see. Also, I have never seen this before, but the bathrooms are almost like bidets with a hose for washing up. They were spotless too. This place is a bit off the beaten path for us in Richardson, but it looks like this area has quite a few Middle Eastern spots worth exploring. Count me in. This part of DFW is shaping up to be a fantastic place to discover great food.

This place is trash. They're paying for reviews bc this food at best is mediocre. Don't waste your money and go eat some real Arab food.

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been visiting this Mediterranean institution on…read morePolk Street. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

The sauces are amazing - tzatziki, hummus, baba ghanoush, and more. I personally love the chicken cooked in a yogurt sauce, roasted cauliflower, and chickpea moussaka as my top standouts, but truly there are too many delicious things to name. I love how many chicken options there are as someone who isn't crazy about beef or pork. There is also falafel and plenty of beans for your vegan/ vegetarian friends. There were markers for allergies / preferences on the labels, but I didn't attend too closely as I don't have dietary restrictions. They have tasty rice pudding topped with pistachios and fresh fruit as something sweet to pair with your meal. I enjoy the lentil soup for dipping pita bread in. All you can eat buffets are always the best for getting to try everything and making everyone in your party happy. This was a fabulous adventure! We took a few hours to visit Sarahs Market and ate lunch at their S Grill. The market is very small, but every inch of its space is very special. First, we found our way to the back corner and sat at a tiny countertop with only 4 chairs. The counter faces an open top grill, and you're able to talk/ watch the chefs make the food. The menu is limited and pricey! We ordered one steak kabob ($26.00). The steak was served medium rare, very juicy, on top of a long rice (similar to rice pasta), and it was coated in a delicious seasoning completely unfamiliar to us. It came with roasted tomatoes & purple onion. You can select from several sides, we picked the hummus. It was a huge portion, enough for 2 people. The chef was so pleased to have us and was very impressed that we were there to learn. He gave us many "generous" sized samples of the sides and sauces they offered. Everything was made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients from their grocery store. It was a wonderful experience! The bakery aspect of this location is a small glass display case full of sweets, like macaroons, cheesecake baklava, and more. Most of them were new to us. The pastry chef gave us a few samples that had us buying a bunch to take home, lol. We strolled through the grocery store part of the market before leaving and bought a few items we already enjoyed. The difference was buying things that are made in-house, like pita bread. You can definitely see, smell, and taste the difference. A FIVE STAR review for their authenticity, hospitality, and delicious fresh food. If you're in the area you've got to try the Grilled Kabobs.
