So glad my mechanic recommended this place! Our first couple of visits only consisted of beef & chicken shawarma wraps. But this last visit, we also had Falafel, Shawarma Rice & Cheese Pie. You can order take out at the counter, or just sit down to dine in. Food does not take long to arrive, after ordering. You will not be disappointed!

This is your quintessential hole in the wall in the best way. The food portions are huge and easily shareable. Almost everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the mixed platter that had a variety of dips. The warm pita bread with those dips was absolutely delicious. The sharwarma combo was good and the amount of meat we got was a lot. We shared it between two of us and still had leftovers. As someone who loves pickles, I loved their assorted pickles with so many different veggies. Service was friendly and quick. There's a grocery store attached to it as well if you have the need for it.

Bilad Restaurant is my beloved middle eastern place to fulfill my dream about the sliced shawarma & middle eastern side dishes for more than 30 years, just didn't have the whatever reason to write about it. But not today when my craving come, just stop by there to get 2 lbs of beef shawarma, a small pack of Hummus, a small pack of Baba Ghanoush, a small pack of Tabbouleh, a small pack of mixed pickled veggies, a large garlic source & two pack of pita breads, these will less me & my wife the whole day to consume with enjoyment until the next craving! just remember the restaurant will be closed on Thursday!

9/6/22: Great family restaurant and bakery. Their beef and chicken are sliced thin to order and they taste really good. The salad selection looks fresh. Prices are very reasonable and they serve nice sized portions. The restaurant is cozy and clean. Very nice atmosphere, and they stay pretty busy. Parking is adequate, although it can be a bit congested at times. There's a small grocery store next store which is a part of the restaurant.

Shawarma salad was great, its definitely something I would reorder. The kebbe sandwich however wasn't great. The ambience and service could be improved as well.

Best Schwarma in NE Dallas county brought us in the first time 10 years ago, and all TV did other outstanding Mediterranean foods plus all the fresh baked breads and sweets keep us coming back again and again. We love Bilad - and we have never had a bad meal here. When we eat in, the service is fast, gracious and attentive. When we carry out, our food is packed carefully so it doesn't spill or get messy. We love their beef or chicken schwarmas, which are roasted in front of your eyes and can be made spicy if you wish. Other faves are their smooth creamy hummus, generous olive plate, bright fresh tabbouleh, and mixed spicy pickles. Lentil soup is great on a cold day - today it's 100 degrees so we are respectfully skipping the soup! We highly recommend the Iraqi bread, but you can't go wrong with any of their breads baked in-house daily. They have Iranian bread as well as basic pitas and Afghan bread. Get one of each and have a bread tasting!! 5 authentic hand-crafted made with love stars!

We drove est one hour to get these delicious Middle Eastern food from our place and it's totally worth it to try. I also like their tamarind drink.

Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. Food comes out quickly and remains hot on the way home.

This was a fabulous adventure! We took a few hours to visit Sarahs Market and ate lunch at their S Grill. The market is very small, but every inch of its space is very special. First, we found our way to the back corner and sat at a tiny countertop with only 4 chairs. The counter faces an open top grill, and you're able to talk/ watch the chefs make the food. The menu is limited and pricey! We ordered one steak kabob ($26.00). The steak was served medium rare, very juicy, on top of a long rice (similar to rice pasta), and it was coated in a delicious seasoning completely unfamiliar to us. It came with roasted tomatoes & purple onion. You can select from several sides, we picked the hummus. It was a huge portion, enough for 2 people. The chef was so pleased to have us and was very impressed that we were there to learn. He gave us many "generous" sized samples of the sides and sauces they offered. Everything was made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients from their grocery store. It was a wonderful experience! The bakery aspect of this location is a small glass display case full of sweets, like macaroons, cheesecake baklava, and more. Most of them were new to us. The pastry chef gave us a few samples that had us buying a bunch to take home, lol. We strolled through the grocery store part of the market before leaving and bought a few items we already enjoyed. The difference was buying things that are made in-house, like pita bread. You can definitely see, smell, and taste the difference. A FIVE STAR review for their authenticity, hospitality, and delicious fresh food. If you're in the area you've got to try the Grilled Kabobs.
