McDonald's - It's late at night, not busy, and this pic pretty much sums up the uncleanliness of the whole place :-(

Stopped here to grab the kiddos a happy meal on our long drive from Washington to Edmonton, AB…read more The kids were over the moon when they saw that this location had a play space (which is the only reason for 2 stars). The play space itself is large with two levels of slides and lots of climbing. Unfortunately, this is where the good ended. They didn't have the advertised Minion toys and only had an orange dinosaur frisbie which we had picked up 3 weeks earlier on our month long road trip. The food was okay - but there was a decent wait time and confusion by the cashier when it came to placing our order. The restaurant was FILTHY and I mean filthy. The normal washrooms were "out of service" so we were instructed to use the washrooms inside the play space - no problem. BUT the single washroom in the play space had no paper towels, garbage everywhere (can overflowing) and a single roll of toilet paper laying on the ground. The play space was quite dirty inside and didn't look like it had been wiped down for quite some time. The garbage cans in the eating area were also overflowing. There as an abundance of staff (like more than 10 ppl that I saw between and line and front counter/customer service staff) and yet no one was cleaning up. Kinda makes you worry about the state of the kitchen in back. So we let the kids have their Happy Meal and then we went down the street to the Subway which was much nicer and cleaner! The only way I'd stop here again is under the duress of my car trapped road-trippin' children.

I recently visited this Dairy Queen location and had a mixed experience overall…read more The furniture and décor of the restaurant are definitely dated and could use some updating to make the space feel more inviting. One thing that stood out was that the freezers have locks on them, so an employee has to open them for you -- you can't even grab your own ice cream cake, which felt a bit inconvenient. It also appeared that there was only one employee working at the time. Because of this, if someone is ahead of you in line, you have to wait until their entire order is completed before you're even able to place yours, which made the wait longer than expected. We ordered two SKOR Caramel Brownie Cupfections. They tasted good and were enjoyable, but I paid an extra $1.28 each for additional fudge sauce, which felt a bit pricey for what was added. Overall, the desserts were tasty, but improvements to staffing, pricing transparency, and updating the restaurant's interior would really improve the customer experience.

We started by ordering two Pepsis, which arrived very obviously watered down. After mentioning it to our server, she responded that it was just how the machine makes them, delivered with a somewhat condescending tone, but offered canned drinks instead, which we accepted. We ordered two sets of Thai Bites with extra sauce; unfortunately, both arrived cold, and one plate barely had enough sauce to cover the chicken, let alone extra. We also ordered French fries and yam fries, which came out hot and were good. The manager (a man in a blue shirt) later came by to apologize for the drinks and confirmed the dispenser had been fixed. After we spoke with him about the cold food, he apologized and removed the Thai Bites from our bill. Both the server and manager checked on us often afterward, and the manager was especially friendly and helpful. We finished with the Chocolate Brownie Addiction, which was warm, sweet, and very good -- easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, the experience had a rough start, but the manager's excellent customer service and willingness to fix the issues helped end the visit on a positive note.

We were in Jasper just strolling the streets when the urge came for some lunch. It had to be pizza. I remembered seeing this shop on a video I watched about Jasper just prior to coming here. It was easy to find and we grabbed a table outside. A beautiful day and view. We went inside and ordered a couple of pies. Based on the amount of tickets that were on the line and there was just one pizza maker, we thought this might take a while. They had a lot of people both eating in and taking out. This is one busy place. There was one chef and one person delivering and wrapping orders. Together they made a good-efficient pair. It's easy... pick the size pizza you want, select the toppings and you wait. After a short wait the pizzas were delivered and we had a chance to eat. Pie were very good. Nice crispy crust, tasty sauce and plenty of rich tasty cheese. Our friends had the plain and we had mushrooms and sausage. Everything was tasty-good and fresh. It takes a lot to pizza-satisfy a New Yorker and this place did a good job! KUDOs to the team at North Face Pizza.

After a long hike in the rain we were ready for a tasty meal with drinks!…read more Since this place had great reviews we took a chance and wern't disappointed. I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.
