Do not under any circumstances visit this establishment. Horrible food and rude employees. The chicken tasted old and was burnt to a crisp. Even the bones in the chicken pieces were broken. When you order they ask "if you have a coupon" I assume because they are going to give you what they would otherwise throw away. Everytime I come to this KFC it's always something. The employees are always rude. They are always out of food. They machines don't work. One day they only accept cash the next they only accept card. Right now they are only accepting cash in the drive through. I wanted to exoerience myself why this was the worst rated restaurant in the area. I ordered a three piece chicken with two sides. Went through the drive thru and paid cash. When I asked for my change the cashier stated " we don't have change cause of Covid 19. It was only $.32 but at least have the courtesy to let customers know you are not giving change if paying with cash. It's not about the money due it's about the poor customer service. When I received my order I checked and only had one side order. I informed the cashier and he went and grabbed the missing side order. I asked if he was aware of all the negative Yelp reviews and he responded..."We don't really care about that". I hope the owners review these Yelp reviews and see what type of employees are representing their business. Yesterday was my first time going to this KFC, how I regret my decision to go here. I ordered a BBQ sandwich meal, no pickles, Mac and Cheese & two biscuits. I get to the window, the guy takes my card and hands me my plastic bag and drink. I'm going through the bag, no Mac and cheese. I tell the guy there's no Mac and cheese and he asks a woman who says it's in the paper bad. I didn't get a paper bag so she looks in my car like I'm lying but the cashier should remember that he didn't give me a paper bag but he didn't really speak up. Also, he forgot to give me my card back so I had to ask. Then I check my sandwich and there's pickles so I give it back. I know with fast food you always have to check the bag so I'm glad I did. I get home to eat the food, the BBQ sandwich barely had any BBQ sauce and it was hard and dry. The biscuits were cold and hard, they'd crumble with each bite, the potato wedges were hard. Really wanted to give only 1 Star. Truly. But decided on 2 because, despite their obvious downfalls, the food is consistent with their quality, even if it's not 5 star quality. And besides, the place is clean. Dang clean. So yay for that (though could also be their recent renovation). Here's the good: Food quality is mostly pretty decent. I do a major majority of my cooking at home, maybe going out to eat once or twice a month. I've only been to this location a handful of times since moving to Gilroy 4 years ago. And for the most part I have no complaints. Food tastes good, most of the time, it's served warm. The bad: Recently I've noticed they NEVER seem to get my order right. Never! Once they missed over half the order! Maybe they need to check out the speaker on the drive through because, seriously... how do just forget to input half an order?? Last night it happened again, this time a minor transgression, but there, none the less. They forgot two items. Management- if you're reading this: please check your speaker box. Maybe get one like some of the other restaurants have that show the person their order. Or have your employees read back the orders. Because this kind of junk could be easily remedied. read more

They told us at the window with some attitude after we paid that they did not have enough of the chicken type we ordered so they would give us a chicken strip to make up for it. They did not ask if that was OK, they just stated it and closed the window. A little upset, I let it go because it was not a big deal to me and I was starving. Then we wound up waiting for about 10 minutes for our food and we were joking that they could have just made more chicken bites for us at that point to make up for the missing amount, and mistakenly assumed that by waiting that long that our food was going to be piping hot fresh. When we got home, we found that the sauce were both missing, which was upsetting, but not the end of the world as we have BBQ, different mustard's and ranch at home any way, but then we got our chicken bites and wedges out and everything was barely warm and the chicken bites looked old and when we both tried them, they were super dry proving even more that they were totally old. It was then that we noticed that the extra strip we were supposed to get was also missing... We love KFC, but it will be a long time before we come back here. Since we work in San Jose and commute home to Gilroy we will just go to our old favorite locations up there when we need a KFC fix. read more

The soda machine was not working properly and instead of putting a sign in the drive through they make you get to the point of completing your order before letting you know. They wouldn't even let me upgrade to a bottle soda when I was willing to pay a bit more. Go to the one at the end of Monterey or Morgan Hill. Poor excuse for a KFC!! Twice now I have gone through the drive-thru and twice have had to wait over 20 minutes for chicken. I go into the store to complain and ask for a refund, the manager looks at me with a "what do you want" look and I tell her it has been 25 minutes since I ordered my chicken and she looks at my receipt, goes back to the register and brings me my money, drops it in my hand and walks away.. no apologizes, no nothing! I have no idea how this place stays in business! There is a McDonalds right next to it that is always packed, but with really fast service. I should have learned the first time this happened and with SO SO many options for fast food in the area, KFC will never see another dime from me or my family. Recently we got a bucket there and they didn't have the kind of chicken we wanted. This KFC serves up some good chicken! I really appreciate the drive up window too! The workers are friendly and fast. I ordered the 20 piece hot wings, and they used some full size wings too. Be sure to ask for hot sauce if you want it, 'cause you ain't gettin' any if you don't ask!! Have to say this place has made the bad for the good...I stop going due to being out of chicken more than twice last year in 20017 and when getting nuggets with no meat I said no more. I've decided to go back this year and I always get the go cups with chicken nuggets and have to say it's like night and day now. The nuggets are tender nice size and they fill the cup up not halfway like before. Super bad experience! If I can choose I would like to give it no any star! I ordered the $30 fill up combo and one $10 chicken popcorn! When we got there ! On Saturday Sept. 2, 2017 at about 2:00 pm, we drove through the KFC in Gilroy on Wren and first street. We ordered crispy wings and crispy thighs; they are our favorite pieces. We had actually bought this same type of order at the KFC in King City recently on three separate occasions. It was around $15 (just chicken). They were nice large pieces, juicy and fresh. The staff were happy and professional. I mention this as a contrast to the Gilroy KFC. Today when we went to Gilroy KFC drive thru, we ordered 6 thighs and 7 wings, extra crispy. Assuming the cost to be around $15. No sides, just chicken. First the girl taking our order had a hard time getting it right, both in numbers and in kind. After repeating the order for the 3rd time, we drove to the next window. She sarcastically proceeded to tell us the cost. We aren't sure if she was offended by our order, or if she was just embarrassed that she had a hard time counting and understanding what 6 crispy thighs and 7 crispy wings were. Regardless, it wasn't a necessary way to deal with a customer. ALMOST $30! Logically, looking back we should have just left. But it was over 100 degrees and too hot to cook. When we got home, we were missing one thigh. The size of the pieces were tiny. I mean really tiny. While the meat was dry, I think they had just come out of the fryer because they were really hot. So for 12 pieces of chicken, no breasts (which are the most expensive in their buckets), and no sides, we paid more than it would have cost if we had bought a bucket of chicken with sides. 12 wings were just $10! A 16 piece bucket of chicken only is $24.99. We were charged almost $30 for 12 pieces of chicken. One star for KFC in Gilroy and never ever again. To the girl at the window with the poor attitude, you really need to learn customer service skills (and counting). This place needs some serious management changes. Sorry we won't be back. read more

KFC has always been one of my favorite fast food places! This location, however, is the worst location I have ever been to. It is managed by teenagers who always forget at least two items from my order each time; food is always cold and hard; service is terrible! Last night, I went through the drive-thru and ordered a famous bowl with extra gravy, potato wedges, and a 3 piece combo. I pulled up to the window, and the teenager had told me it would be an extra 5 minutes for the gravy, and to park in the front and he would bring me my food. I asked him to please put some hot sauce in the bag before bringing it out. I waited almost 15 minutes in the front, before my food was brought to me. When I got home, my famous bowl was literally dry - no gravy at all; when I had specifically asked for extra gravy, and even waited 15 minutes for it. The popcorn chicken in the famous bowl was cold and hard, as if it was laying out for hours. No potato wedges, coleslaw, or hot sauce in the bag! Such a disappointment!
