Today we were in the area and stopped in for the 8 piece family platter! Yummy! It includes 4 pieces of chicken and 4 fish, 8 hush puppies, and two large sides! We picked the coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. The perfect amount of food and it was so fresh and delicious. There were some burnt flakes on our chicken pieces but that did not effect the flavor. We love coming here when we are in the area! Highly recommend! read more

Ordered online at KFC.com for delivery which they use Doordash. Did not get all my items, so I called them and told me I had to call Doordash. Not true as I ordered on their website, not on Doordash. Was very rude when I called. The items I did get, chicken was ok, pretty standard. Biscuits were crunchy. Never had a crunchy biscuit before. The chicken nuggets, if they can even be called that as they looked more like popcorn shrimp size. Plus never got a refund for the 2 missing sandwiches. We will never go there again. I drove a half hour because Yelp says this location takes EBT and I have used my EBT card here before, however the manager on duty would not let me use my card. The manager herself was very rude and you could tell she wasn't happy with me ordering. Have ordered here occasionally for many years. Today is probably the last. the crispy chicken and biscuits were fine, but the Mac and cheese was not great and the cole slaw was bad. They both had a taste that was not normal, we ended up throwing them out. I wish I could place the flavor, but whatever it is, I cant , except it's bad. read more

The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. My order was rung up quickly and the chicken came out fast but my complaint is that the pieces of chicken were extremely small. Obviously this is a corporate problem, since the frozen chicken (size and weight) delivered to the store is a corporation contract decision. They cook what they get. Last year or more whenever I get Original Recipe either the chicken is over cooked or it's dried out from sitting too long. I'm not sure which. Tonight was the last straw. It was so hard and tough. The worst. This is the second time I've gone to KFC and received the incorrect order. Partially my fault for not looking at the order when it was given to me but this time I was the only one in the drive through. I stopped there on my way to work. Once I arrived to work,I had some time before having to report on the treatment floor, so I sat down to eat my lunch/dinner. I order a 2 piece dark with slaw and a drink. We normally love KFC and LJS, but this has to be one of the worst run locations I've ever seen. To start, there was a long line of angry people waiting for or returning their food because of mistakes with their orders. That should have been our first clue to go somewhere else. However we stayed and had a very awkward ordering experience with the young man at the counter. He made statements sound like questions and couldn't quite grasp the concept of their menu. We were told numerous times that they don't serve items that are clearly on the menu. After each instance, we requested he ask someone else and they confirmed that yes, they do serve corn.... After completing our order and repeating it to us, we are then served the wrong items in which we ordered. I show my receipt to the young lady and she said, "So what, do you want to return this food or something?" When i told her that "Yes, I'd like the food that we ordered," she huffed and puffed like it was some big inconvenience for her. Look honey, I'm sure you're pissed that you're not home watching Nashville, but it'll be ok, you can watch it on the dvr after your shift. Usually there's one or two things that happen when you eat out from time to time, but people in the back not prepping food, the length of time it took to get the wrong order, the time it took to correct our order, the attitude by the handlers, the lack of supplies in the dining room (we had to go up to the counter to request, utensils, straws, napkins, ketchup, hot sauce, and honey) because none of these items were available in the dining area of this restaurant made it too much to bear. I know the service industry is tough, and I can look past A LOT of things that happen, if the situation is handled properly. A simple, "i'm sorry for the wait" goes a long way. I'm here right now and waited for 6 minutes for anyone to come up to the front and acknowledged me. I saw about 6 people behind the serving station. People walked by and just seemed to ignore me. Not a great way to start the experience. Though while writing I was told they were going to drop fresh fish and chicken for me and it would take another five minutes. As I'm waiting the cashier was the only one taking orders and boxing people's food. What are the other 5 doing in the back. All the tables were dirty, I'm glad I'm taking this home. Not a very good representation of KFC or Long John Silvers. Too bad this is the only Long Johns around here. I hope my fresh food is good. Oops, I accidentally gave it one star. It should be zero... or negative zero. So here we are 5 years since I last reviewed this kfc/long john silvers in downers grove. It hasn't gotten better. I've come here with people from work and they've gone on about how bad the service is and how their orders were wrong. Today my wife went there and picked up lunch. God bless her. She always likes to give another shot. Such a kind heart. But it was all in vain. She was in the drive thru for over 15 minutes. And finally went in after she got her sodas that were only half full. Upon opening our bags at home, we found were we're missing side orders. We did have extra chicken, which was a plus. And all the sodas were regular coke (flat!). I drink diet as I am diabetic. I called. Was put on "hold" for over 20 minutes. (They actually just put the phone on the counter.) She is now done with them. Her kind heart turned to stone as fast as you can say "where's my cole slaw". Stay away from the kfc/long john silvers on 75th street in downers grove. They'll get you! read more

Yuck with a Capital Y!!! Order long john silvers chicken and fish platter. Chicken was different shades of tan and was not fresh. Fries not fresh. Cole slaw wayyyy too crunchy with no juice. Even the hush puppies weren't all the way done. The LJS in Aurora was much better, but they recently closed. This one is next. No wonder fast food joints like this place are closing by the hundreds in Chicago and beyond. Because we're no longer tolerating crap food. read more

Horrible service for food that is at best okay. My mom and I waited 25 minutes for a pot pie, which they estimated would only take 10-15. We finally walked into the building, we had ordered in the drive through and were waiting in the parking lot, and got our food. However, when we got home we discovered they HADN'T EVEN GIVEN US A POTPIE! We waited all that time for absolutely nothing. Instead of a potpie, they had given us one of their chicken bowls. We called the store and didn't get an answer, so we called corporate. They apologized and told us a 5 dollar gift voucher would be delivered by mail. The staff were pleasant enough, which is why they get a star at all. When fried chicken is your primary dish, you need to be able to make chicken that doesn't taste disgusting. It was clumpy, like it had been breaded incorrectly or made in oil that wasn't set at the right temperature. Do not go here, the food was awful. I ordered 3 pieces of white meat, extra crispy and received 2 normal size pieces that were totally soggy and one piece that I'm not sure what it was. I ordered 12 Long John Silvers chicken planks, they only had 9 pre-cooked and asked if I'd like to wait the additional 5 minutes that was needed to cook them and I said, "Sure!". Got home and only had 11 planks and the 9 they originally had must've been put back into the fryer because they were super greasy, overcooked, and hard to bite into. I did not have the time to drive back and ask for them to remake so in the trash they went. IF I go there again I will make sure to ask them to make all 12 chicken planks fresh. read more
