2 Gyros and Greek fries was $43. That's so expensive. Flavor wise it's decent, but the meat is coarse and kinda... like gritty. We asked for feta cheese on both and they charged for American and Feta, but neither had extra cheese on it. My half and half gyro did have half chicken/half gyro, but no feta. The portion of fries was also very tiny for $7. For the 30 minute drive to get there for us... It's not worth it anymore. read more

Terrible place. Broken toilet and the staff doesn't understand basic instruction. This place was an angel which has fallen from grace .

I happened to be in the area and saw the sign for Skippy's Gyros. I went through the drive thru. It was 1:10pm on a Monday - still within lunch hours. There was no one in front of me and no one drove up behind me. From the time I placed my order and the time I received it it took 11 and one half minutes! =actual time. No one ever came to the blocked view window to give me an explanation why my order was taking so long. This is their specialty! When the worker handed me my sandwich, she did say, "sorry took so long". The one positive is that the sandwich had a generous amount of meat. Gyros can be a little dry so it needs a generous amount of "sauce". Skippy's puts a little cold "sauce", chopped tomatoes and sliced onions on top of the meat. Perhaps if I'd known I would have asked for extra "sauce". [sorry, the name of the traditional "sauce" momentarily escapes me.]. The price for just the sandwich was $12.++ Luckily, I have an excellent Gyros restaurant near my home (Eagle Restaurant in Downers Grove) so maybe I'm spoiled. Only reason for 2 stars is their dogs are decent. However never going back until they look at their prices. 2 dogs, small fry, medium drink was $19. That's insane. Very disappointed with our experience. We ordered gyros with fries, and everything was horrible. The gyro meat was cold and extremely salty, and the pita bread was also cold. The fries didn't look fresh or appetizing at all. My husband asked for mayo, and what they gave us looked more like oil in a small container rather than actual mayo. It was very strange and unappetizing. On top of the food being bad, the customer service was just as disappointing. The staff was rude and not courteous at all -- and keep in mind, we were the only customers there. As we were leaving, my husband even said "thank you," and the staff member didn't acknowledge him at all. It was a complete waste of our time and money. Been coming here for years and never had problems. Parmesan chicken sandwich tasted bad on first bite and saw that the breading was lifting off of the chicken on its own. The chicken is old and overcooked. It was so bad it may have been cooked in a microwave (see picture) On top of that, the Iced Tea had slimy brown chunks floating around. Head to a genuine Greek restaurant if you want to experience a real gyro. Paying $20 for a gyro, fries, and a drink is outrageous, especially when adding feta--something that should come standard at any decent Greek place--costs an extra $2.59. The gyro meat was chewy, and the pico-style diced tomatoes were a far cry from the sliced tomatoes you'd expect. The whole dish was bland and underseasoned. This is probably a 2.5 star place. Pretty average. The good: I got the "king size" chicken gyros and found it was truly a behemoth. The bad, the chicken is pretty bland and not that exciting. Was there today. The female working at the register was rude. The food was horrible. I ordered a simple mini beef with cheese sauce on it. The bread was as dry as can be and there was basically no meat on it I took a couple bites, then it went in the garbage.
