Upon entering, there was a strong unpleasant odor--similar to body odor--that lingered throughout the restaurant. It made the experience uncomfortable, whether it was due to poor ventilation or something else. That said, the food itself was actually very good. I ordered a double butter burger and a kids' butter burger, and both tasted great. The restaurant also appeared clean overall. I get salad here. They prepare it carefully to avoid cross contamination-- I have celiac disease. The salads are large and often contain components that make me feel as if I am treating myself with love. The service is always friendly-- that's saying a bunch because my husband goes in to supervise my order and they so far have not taken that out on me. Really nice people. Patient and considerate. There was just a panic over *something* David came out to inform me "they had a crisis but they looked it up and it's safe!" I think he's getting surprise ice cream. I married the right guy. The girl that was scooping the custard tonight screwed up so bad and literally told the other staff her job was too hard. Food - doesn't deserve a star at all!!!!!! We ordered from DoorDash and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich was covered in bugs. yes BUGS. The lettuce was totally covered so some employee knew there were bugs on the lettuce and didn't care that they were putting bug infected lettuce on a sandwich for someone to eat. The order came in a large brown bag with handles. It was completely sealed shut with Culver's stickers. Inside was a drink carrier with our two beverages and two brown bags folded over with a Culver's sticker sealing them shut. I opened one bag which had two items that happened to be mine. No bugs no issues. I handled the other bag to my husband and left for my meeting. My husband proceeded to open his bag the fries were on top of the sandwich box. Nothing was wrong with the fries. He opened the box with the Spicy chicken sandwich to see something blackish/brownish. than lifted the bun to see that the lettuce had lots of little black/brownish bugs that were crawling on the inside of the sandwich. The crinkle cut fries were cooked just right and had the perfect amount of salt. There are so many tasty options on their menu and don't forget their custard for dessert! I love Culver's Grilled Chicken Sandwich but it has gone up to $8.19 at the location by my home. I have been to other ones and some of them are different prices even within the same area. I went to Culver's around 5 pm after work and it was perfect timing. I had ordered two double burgers, fries, and a a frozen chocolate custard. The burgers were delicious. It actually taste healthier than a Big Mac in my opinion. My son loves their chocolate custard so no complaints there! After I got my food, I saw a long line at the drive thru. Eeek! I know its just fast food but I tended to prefer culver's over any other fast food chain. My son and I lived this place but after today our opinion has changed. This is the worst experience we've had at a culver's. The ordering process was as normal but there was a way longer than usual wait for the food, the food was not even warm when it got to the table. For some reason, one of my burger buns looked as if it was missing a piece from the top, and the milkshake we ordered was not like a regular culvers shake. It was like just having a cup full of milk. To top it off the cup the shake was in was very dirty on the outside of it. I had to give it a good wipe down before even touching it. Even all the concrete mixers that were ordered were like soup. I have been to Culver's a few times at different locations and they have really good food and service. I was here with a bunch of family. I ordered the Butter Mushroom Swiss Burger and a vanilla shake. The Burgers are excellent. The meat is cooked just right and the mushrooms and cheese were great--hard to imagine a better burger. Everyone seemed to enjoy their burgers much. They are also known for their shakes which are very good, but almost too thick. They are more for dessert than as a drink with food. I shared some fries and onion rings also. The fries are the crinkly kind and taste good, but nothing exceptional. The onion rings are different with a smooth crust, but I enjoyed those a little bit more. read more

They raise their prices now multiple times since Cove it and for a burger with no cheese and small fry is now 9.11$ without a drink this is highway robbery and it's not like the money is going to cover employee food ( only managers get free food on shift ) or hiring an appropriate amount of staff so I don't have to wait in a huge line every time I come .... It was my first time ordering at Culver's tonight. It was about 8:15 pm . It was my first time there in Lombard. They were really busy. Their customer service was great and well mannered. They provided curd side pickup and takeout as well as the drive through. All the staff wore masks and gloves. The drive thru service was well organized, and everyone was polite. We had a lady help us as well as a gentleman in the drive thru. The food was prepared perfectly and tasted fantastic. Your runner Christian was very polite and well mannered. We watched as he rapidly greeted each customer with a smile and made sure they were satisfied. He even took a rude customers lashing out in stride. I have great respect for everyone doing their best work during the strictest and scariest of times. Thank you everyone. for all your hard work and dedication to all customers. Want to get fat?? Come to Culver's! Well, you can get fat at basically any fast food place, but it's easier to do so at Culver's because of their delicious butter burgers and frozen custard. I was driving down the street, looking for a place to get dinner, and I saw the Culver's sign w/ "butter burgers" on it. What in the world are butter burgers? I had to find out. The cashier was nice enough to explain to that a butter burger is basically a regular hamburger, except the bun has been buttered on both halves and toasted. The more I looked at their menu, the more items I wanted to eat. I ended up ordering a walleye sandwich with a side of fried cheese curds. The walleye was nicely fried and the bun was also buttered and toasted. The cheese curds were sooooooo good. Thank goodness I don't eat them on a regular basis or else I'd be 50 lbs heavier. After finishing my sandwich and curds, I had to go back and get the famous butter burger and frozen custard. The butter burger was standard, but it really was all about the bun. The frozen custard was a chocolate caramel twist, which was quite tasty. It had the creaminess of ice cream but almost as light as a yogurt. I've been here several times - primarily via the drive thru, but also inside. Employees are always friendly and jump right in to explain options and ingredients. Such was the case this past Friday when I couldn't locate a menu item (Cod sandwich) I saw advertized. When I asked, I was brightly informed of the toppings on the sandwich. The friendly and helpful drive thru cashier turned out to be a former student of mine. Pleasant surprise! Several of my former students have/do work here, actually. They seem to receive good training. Everyone I've ever encountered is competent and friendly. :) They also support local school/community fundraising efforts. We been to this Culver's a few times. Majority of the time the food is fresh, taste great, and custard refreshing. The boy is not very adventurous when it comes to good. Burger, fries, and Dr. Pepper, but this occasion I convinced him to try the cheese curds. We've never had fried cheese curds before and I thought it was like cheddar sticks, but a little burnt from the outside so we didn't finish it. Next time we're there the cashier asked if we wanted cheese curds and we told him no, the last time we had it it wasn't that great. He asked us why and we told that we thought it was fried too long. He apologized and offered to make us a few sample pieces because he really wanted us to like them as much as he did. We said okay. Was not expecting this type of service for such a young associate. We get our food, custard, and samples of curds and instructed us to let us know if we wanted to order some. We tried it and it tasted much better than the last time. When he checked up on us we told him next time for sure. He informed us he already made us a batch and please enjoy. This is a kid who was probably 16-17 years old. He really took the initiative to address the issue and made our experience even better. This type of service I would expect from management level. I've been wanting to try Culver's custard for a couple of years now, but my travels don't take me into the hinterlands too often. So I jumped at the chance last night in a day trip to Lombard. Well, it was decent. It's no Scooter's (what is, really?) and it tastes kind of slick. I can only imagine the chemical content of this stuff, between the mass production and the preservation needs for long-distance shipping. Anyway, it was good. I got a small with mint and M&Ms. You get a generous portion for $3.18. It was too much, really. This is why America is the fattest country on earth. Because a "small" is sixteen ounces. Culvers is quickly becoming my favorite burger chain because they're always extremely nice and they send out awesome email coupons. This location is no different and had really friendly workers. As we were walking in, a few of the employees were coming back in from dropping off drive-thru orders and they made friendly conversation with us. We came at the peek of their lunch rush -- 12:30 on a Friday. Since my work is very particular about punching in and out on time, I was close to walking out after seeing the line. It was no worry for them though and I was able to order, scarf down my food, and deal with the Roosevelt Road traffic in exactly an hour. I went with the Pepper Pub burger basket combo with fries and a root beer. We had a buy one, get one free basket coupon, so my husband got pretty much the exact same thing except with cheese curds ($1.00 to upgrade.) Our total for two baskets with an upgrade was $10. Not too shabby. Last time I got the Pepper pub burger, it was waaaay too peppery--this coming from a person that would bathe in black pepper if I could. I asked for the sauce on the side so it didn't ruin it and this was much better. They forgot our sauce though, so we had to go back up and ask when they informed us that they'd poured it in cups but forgot to throw it on the tray. The guy that waited on us was really nice, although he was new because we had to repeat ourselves a few times. The manager was really quick to jump in and help without being rude or talking down to him. My food was fab as always. I'm really digging this new burger and I'm sad it's only limited edition. Their fries are some of my favorite and I'm really not a fry person.
