Portions are generous enough that both times we left with leftovers, giving us an extra couple of days of sweet happiness. No complaints there. The space itself is expansive and airy. This time around, it was prime dinner/post-dinner time, there were only two people working, and the coffee was incredibly watered down. I tried their honey cake, and the taste was delicious, but the actual sponge was very CLEARLY stale, and that was bothersome, because price wise, this place is absolutely not cheap. Let me tell you about this sweet paradise I found this past weekend. Cocomelt showed up on my IG feed a few weeks ago and I knew I had to go see the hype for myself! The inside is so cute, with tons of beautiful seating, and wall pieces. They have the viral Dubai chocolate but it was sadly out of stock when we went, but I will definitely be going back to try it out!! The service was great, we were in and out so quickly! They have tons of dessert options ranging from cake slices, croissants, crepes, waffles, and chocolate bars to coffees, teas, and milkshakes! Alright so we tried the lotus biscoff crepe - it was UNREAL YOU GUYS! There was biscoff crumbs, chocolate drizzle, it was just the perfect balance of flavors. I cannot wait to go back for more I'm still dreaming of it to this day!!! This place is obviously very Instagram ready! If I had dressed up in one of my usual full length dresses, I would have definitely taken some insta approved pictures. We sampled the coconut, espresso and sea salt caramel flavor and decided to go with the two latter. The gelato is so good, I really enjoyed it. They had told us when we came in that they didn't have anything pistachio left, but they did have a few pieces of the viral knafeh chocolate. We got a bar for $10 and although it was good, I guess it was hyper up so much that I wasn't impressed. It's a crunchy chocolate. Because they were out of pistachio, we didn't get a crepe or waffle, which I wanted to try. And because they don't carry decaf, I couldn't get a latte which I was also hoping on trying. Done constructive criticism; Please get decaf options for those of us sensitive to caffeine! But the location is great, with plenty of parking, and absolutely gorgous inside. I got the pistachio latte and the good and bad part was it had chunks of real pistachio in it, but it was undrinkable bc there was so many chunks that I was almost choking on the amount. I drank only half because I got tired of filtering the liquid from the chunks with my teeth through the straw. The latte was $9. I ordered a cappuccino, my go-to beverage, and my wife ordered a Kashmiri chai. On a whim I decided to order a slice of tres leches cake, as well. The cappuccino had a very air, light milk foam on it, not rich and dense like some other coffee shops (such as Sparrow). That was disappointing. My wife enjoyed the Kashmiri chai. Both drinks were served in nice mugs. As for the cake, it didn't come out with our drinks. I went back to the register and reminded them about it. By the time it eventually came out, I was already done with my coffee, so we just took a few bites and got a to-go box to bring it home. The cake was pretty good, but not the best tres leches I've had. The inside of Cocomelt is large and looks very fancy. Definitely good for the Instagram and TikTok folks. I visited this coffee and crepe spot recently and while the crepes were genuinely good--fresh, well-made, and flavorful--the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the poor customer service. From the moment we sat down, our table had dirty dishes left over from the previous guests. Despite multiple polite requests to different staff members, no one came to clear the table. We ended up sitting through our entire visit surrounded by someone else's mess, which really dampened the overall atmosphere. It's a shame, because the food has real potential. Things that can be improved: organization, ask for names for orders instead of calling out individual drinks My friend and I went to Cocomelt and he ordered a vanilla shake while I ordered a banana muffin and a cookies-and-cream shake; however, when we ordered neither of us were asked for our names or for what table we were sitting at, but the worker still marked my receipt as sitting at table 2. Shortly after ordering, I received a blueberry muffin which I informed them of and they switched it out for a banana one. My friend then proceeded to wait 20 minutes for his vanilla shake, and after another 10 minutes I approached a worker and asked about my cookies-and-cream shake which I had been waiting on for 30 minutes. He informed me that he had delivered it to table 2 despite me never having sat at table 2, and at this point they started to remake my shake which I received in a few minutes. Rather than calling out names, they would only call out the drink type. Both of our shakes were poorly mixed and tasted just like melted ice cream rather than an actual shake. While their service was bad, the most concerning thing was the hygiene of their workers. We never viewed a single worker changing their gloves after handling money, using the kiosk, or touching their hair. We viewed one worker receive her uniform while wearing gloves, she then walked into the bathroom and returned in her new shirt wearing the same pair of gloves, after which she moved her hair to the front of her shoulder and then proceeded to start making drinks again with the same pair of gloves on. This is a health concern and shows the lack of training amongst the workers. The overall look of the place is "instagram worthy" but it's not worth it for the experience read more
