I really enjoy raising Cane chicken fingers and this location is good too…read more This location has its own private parking lot and off the main road easy access in and out. When you go in, there is plenty of room to sit. The place has been cleaned and organized fountain drinks are help yourself, which is nice. They also serve nugget ice that is chewable. The only thing that is behind the counter in terms of drinks is their lemonade, which is good. The menu is straightforward. Either you order their Famous chicken tenders a couple of pieces even order them add onto your existing order, with fries and buttered Texas toast And they offer chicken, tender sandwiches. They have a special sauce, which is nice. It's not spicy as well as your typical ketchup. I love their chicken tenders. It's light and crispy and the chicken tenders is soft and juicy. Definitely been marinated. They have good background music as well and the vibe feels fun and enjoyable to just chill out and hang out with your friends or family young and old. Overall, it's a great experience and also their chicken tenders are one of my favorites not over breaded light crispy, soft and juicy tenders. The Texas toast is light fluffy, and one side is buttery and tasty. The crinkle fries are OK nothing to brag about. Overall, I would definitely come back if I'm in the area !

I have been getting food at the Buona Beef in Darien IL for many years and have zero complaints…read more The restaurant is always nice and clean with friendly, American employees. In my opinion, the customer service is consistently on the same level as Chick-Fil-A which is thought to be great by the vast majority of people. The food is always fresh and properly prepared. No stale cracking buns, limp vegetables, wilted lettuce, mushy and runny tomatoes, dark brown dried out fries, spongy ice cream cones, etc. Most days I think Buona's stuff is better than Portillo's. Buona has a generous customer loyalty program. It doesn't take many orders to start getting discounts and even free menu items. Of all the restaurants I know of in the area, Buona is one of the best in this regard. In almost 20 years I had but ONE order screwup where I ordered cheese fries and they forgot to put the cup of cheese sauce in the bag at the drive-thru. The mistake was quickly corrected via the restaurant giving me a credit for my next order. The Darien Buona gets 5 stars from me for being consistently great over many years.

A Tough Review to Write for a Long-Time Favorite…read more It genuinely pains me to write this review, because this has been one of my favorite quick service restaurants for quite some time. I used to come in at least once a month--sometimes more--and the food has never disappointed. I absolutely love being able to build my own cauliflower rice bowl, and the pickles? Out of this world. Seriously. I could go on and on about the food -- it's fresh, flavorful, and consistently excellent. That said, my recent visit was a letdown in a few ways that I hope are temporary issues, because I really want to keep this place in my regular rotation. There was a new team member behind the counter who built our bowls, and while the food was (as always) delicious, the customer service fell noticeably short of what I've come to expect. We weren't greeted when we came in -- something that normally adds a warm touch to the experience -- and the staff member seemed to go out of her way to say as little as possible. She wasn't rude, but she definitely wasn't friendly either, and that subtle disconnect made the whole experience feel a bit off. Even more concerning was the overall cleanliness of the dining area. The restaurant is in real need of a deep clean -- tables, benches, and chairs clearly hadn't been wiped down in some time, and the beverage station was in rough shape. There was dried syrup stuck to the front of the dispensers, hard water buildup around the counter area, and the fruit juice dispensers weren't circulating. My husband always gets the juice and actually had to go dump his out and switch to soda because the flavor was off. From the amount of sediment at the bottom of the container, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it had started to ferment. Also worth noting: the light fixtures are dusty and in need of a good wipe down -- just another small detail that added to an overall impression of neglect. Another ongoing frustration: please consider getting into the habit of asking if customers would like a receipt. Your rewards program requires one, and it's often a hassle to interrupt a meal and ask for a reprint after the fact. It may seem like a small thing, but for loyal customers trying to earn rewards, it does make a difference. I'm giving three stars today -- and that's solely because the food is still excellent. If I were judging on food alone, this would be a solid five-star review (and that says a lot because I rarely give fives). I truly hope this was just an off day, and I'll definitely be back to check. If the cleanliness and service return to the level I know this place is capable of, I'll happily update this to five stars.

I didn't actually try it until a couple of weeks later when I once again found the lights calling out to me while on my way home from a show. It was a little after midnight when I stopped in. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the staff gave me a friendly welcome and were patient while I looked over their menu. It was hard to choose so I'm glad they had a mixed platter option that would allow me to try both the chicken and lamb at the same time. At only $13.99 I couldn't believe how much they were piling into the to-go container as I watched them assemble the platter. Big scoops of wonderfully seasoned chicken and lamb along with fries, and a bed of one of the tastiest take out rices I've ever had along with some salad for good measure. Now I was a little skeptical when they started totally blanketing the feast with white sauce but seeing other customers happily enjoying their orders gave me confidence that I could trust the process; so much so in fact, that when I noticed them going a little light on the spicy red sauce I went ahead and requested extra. It was a feast indeed. The meats were both so tasty I would have difficult choosing a favorite and am now very interested to try the other menu items. NYC Halal Eats is definitely one of my new favorite places and I look forward to many more street meat cravings being satisfied by them in the future.
