The 8 piece family meal with three sides and biscuits was the right amount of food for us. We ate and ordered on site. There was a little bit of wait but it seemed as if the chicken was being freshly fried as it was steeping hot! We also added a drink(it was a dollar off if part of the family meal). We got original chicken(so it wouldn't be too spicy), mashed potatoes covered in beef gravy(very flavorful!), curly fries, and charred corn. I think next time I'll grab a cole slaw as the food starts to get a little heavy(I guess though, I walked in expecting it to be!) The drink menu was a little overwhelming and kind of hard to figure out which drinks had no caffeine for the kids. I think for the next time I'll look ahead to the menu to get a better idea. Fyi, outside says Kung Fu Tea with a sign on the window saying it serves TKK fried chicken.

The first time I ever tried a Raising Cane's was back when we were still living in the "915"…read more(IYKYK). At that time, I hadn't yet tried the famous Cane's sauce; mainly because my wife somehow convinced me it wasn't worth my time. She said she didn't care for it. I fail to see why. Because after trying some for the first time today, I can tell you their sauce could give Chick-Fil-A sauce a run for its money! It may look like thousand island dressing, but it tastes like a party in my mouth. Only wish I'd ordered more. Pro tip: if you're getting more than 3 strips of chicken, get extra sauce! Trust me on this one. Your palate will thank you later. Not only are the chicken strips big and meaty, their fries are even more sensational. Now, it's been a few years since I last got to enjoy one of my favorite fast food fries (whoa-try saying THAT fast 3 times) of all time. But these crinkled little fellas are better than I remember. Crisp on the outside and seasoned to the nines, this meal as a whole gets a 10. This location has a particular drive thru setup I've never seen at any of the other Cane's I've visited. In order to understand the configuration of their drive thru, I'll have to explain how their parking lot is orientated. There are actually two entrance/exit points leading into the parking lot; one before and one after you pass the Cane's building. Regardless of which entrance you use, each one does a giant U-turn leading back to a dual-lane drive thru. If you're doing curbside pickup (as I did), you simply drive past the drive thru entrance, pull up to the left side of the building if you're facing the street, and there you'll see the curbside pickup signs. This design is so clever, I'm shocked more restaurants haven't implemented this. It's made so that, even if you accidentally pass the RC sign, there's still an opportunity to use the second entrance. As you can imagine, we were so stoked when we first heard they were building one of these in Manchester. And now it's finally a reality! Sufficed to say, we will certainly be visiting this place in the future. Raising Cane's in Manchester gets 5 chicken strips dipped in party mouth sauce out of 5.

Maaz's Chicken had their grand opening this weekend, which is located in the former It's The…read morePizzaman/Nannou Nannou Pizza building at the US 3/NH 11 and NH 127 intersection in Franklin. Maaz's Chicken serves up fried chicken, sandwiches, gyros, burgers, rice platters, fried seafood, appetizers, salads, desserts, and cooler drinks (Pepsi products/Gatorade). The prices here seem reasonable. I stopped by Maaz's Chicken for lunch and dinner on Grand Opening Day when they were giving out free lunch (selected items) and 50 percent off the menu all day. The place was very busy with a line out the door. The owner had a DJ playing music near the entrance and chatting with customers. The owner is from Rhode Island and actually works across the border in Mass. The owner was looking for a place to open a chicken restaurant and chose Franklin, NH since it's a good area, bypassing Franklin, MA (for now) much closer to Bellingham, MA and Rhode Island. The lunch line was very busy and I eventually got up to the counter and ordered the Chicken Sandwich and 2 pc Fried Chicken with Fries and can of Diet Pepsi and strawberry Hood Ice Cream for dessert, all complementary for lunch. The chicken sandwich was big with a thick breaded buffalo tender with lettuce & mayo, pretty good. The shoestring fries were decent and the fried chicken had a nice crispy salty coating on the outside. I decided I would return later for dinner takeout. I returned for dinner takeout several hours later and the place was getting slammed with the line almost to the door. I ordered a bunch of food including a Beef Gyro ($8.99 plus tax), 6 Mozzarella Sticks ($6.25 plus tax), Chicken Over Rice Platter ($10.99 plus tax) and a 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries & Slaw ($11.99 plus tax). With the Grand Opening Discount, my total with tax was $20.83. After ordering, there was another line of customers waiting to pick up their food after paying. I waited about 16 minutes for my big order to be all set. They did run out of cole slaw and let me substitute Banana Pudding which is normally the same price as cole slaw ($2.99 plus tax). I checked my order before leaving and everything was there. I enjoyed my big dinner back at the office and the portions of food were generous. The Chicken Over Rice Platter was excellent, which had firm seasoned rice topped with marinated hot chicken pieces, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, white sauce. The Beef Gyro was overflowing with beef gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and a house dressing in a soft warm thick wrap. The Mozzarella Sticks were standard and came with marinara dipping sauce. The 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries was comprised of 2 good size fried tilapia filets with a seasoned breading and a pile of shoestring fries, tartar sauce was provided too. The Banana Pudding was sweet and topped with Nilla Wafer cookies. Overall, I was able to try a variety of foods here at Maaz's Chicken including the grand opening lunch and discounted dinner food. The fried chicken though crispy outside was very salty and dry, probably due to the volume of customers ordering the same thing. The fries at lunch time were not very hot (staff trying to serve the masses at lunch) and the fries I got with my tilapia dinner were hot and firm. The Chicken Over Rice Platter and Beef Gyro were excellent and my favorites of the day. This rating is based on the dinner takeout (4.5/5.0) and not on the grand opening lunch.
