This is my third visit to Keystone. This is a great ski destination for the family, offers great accommodations, good variety of restaurants and bars and shopping. Most ski resorts are very busy, long lines waiting to get to the top of the mountain to ski...i frequent Keystone because the resort is smaller and appeals to the family. The resort if roughly 50 miles from Denver airport, so this is the ideal place for a quick weekend excursion for a couple of days on the slopes. Only issue is shortage of help, so service within the resort struggles every season. But the place is quit beautiful. read more

Great: Ski school for our kids was a great experience for them. They showed visible improvement and very much enjoyed their day. 10/10 Good: Ski lessons for adults. We had mixed results with our adult lessons. Every person learns different, so I realize a group lesson can be a challenge. Some of the group were having trouble with the instructors teaching, which I also thought was a bit difficult to uptake at times. Okay: The terrain left a bit to be desired. It's early, so unfair to judge too much on this. However, Schoolmarm was CROWDED and dangerous as it contained experts who were going too fast as well as new skiers who were moving erratically as well as intermediate skiers trying to avoid both groups. I saw several collisions and many more near collisions. I suspect these problems work themselves out later in the season as the different skill groups sort themselves out across the mountain on appropriate terrain. Not Good: There was quite a bit of disorganization with the ski lessons for kids and adults and, while they appear timed to allow for adults to take lessons while their kids are doing so, they start in different locations and delays make it very difficult to make it work. I did it, but it required a lot of effort, including actual running in ski boots. Again, I am unsure if this is a permanent problem, or due mostly to temporary arrangements early in the season. Bottom Line: It was okay. The kids got a lot out of their lesson, and any day on the snow is a good day. Keystone has a bit of a Walmart Disney feel to it. I prefer a more laid back and less crowded ski experience at A basin or Loveland, but Keystone is good at what they're good at. Many families have a great time here every year. read more

This is our home mountain, been coming up here for years. Highly recommend it, has the perfect mix of a large resort with a local feel

We have been coming here for extended summer stays for several years, staying in one of the condo rentals on the Resort. It's always an excellent stay, with plenty of special events happening, great weather and scenery, and lots of outdoor activity. This year, we need to call to the attention of #KeystoneResort the desperate need to completely resurface all of the bike/walking trails that are around Lakeside Village along the Snake River (including the 1 mile section that has a sign saying it's been "adopted" by Keystone Resort), and the trails that go past The Seasons condos. These paved trails have been asphalt sealed a number of times, but have a tremendous amount of deep cracks that make cycling on them an unpleasant and jarring experience. Once you ride out of the 5 miles of Keystone Resort's poorly surfaced trails, the rest of the surface all the way to Lake Dillon is smooth. Come on, #keystoneresort, get your cycling/walking trails totally resurfaced so that your guests and visitors can enjoy them! read more

I really want to like keystone and it is a pretty decent sized mountain. The star I docked was for the rental and ski school sales crews. My in-laws had never skiid or boarded before and when they arrived to the ski school to check in they weren't informed that rental was a separate operation. So when they went to meet their instructor they had no gear and he had to help them get fitted and set up which was really nice of him although the rental team seemed stressed by it. They didn't start their lesson until 1030 when they had arrived at 8:15. I really wish this was a more clear process. We were so excited to introduce them to a sport we love but this was an unfortunate experience for them. I know that we will back for sure. We own our own gear so it won't be an issue for us. Pro-tip: rent gear the day before so that you have it for your lessons and are ready to go! :) read more

If COVID safety is important to you don't go here. We called Keystone to ask about the COVID precautions they take. They assured us everyone on the mountain must wear masks at all times and that for the most part patrons were abiding by it. They also told us that staff were enforcing mask wearing. After being in total quarantine , and having other friends and family say their experience in other ski areas in Colorado felt safe , we decided that Keystone would be a safe place to get out and ski. As soon as we arrived in River Run it was PACKED like a highschool hallway. A good 1/4 of everyone was maskless and staff around them were not enforcing masks. I figured since we signed up for night skiing it would die down a lot... When we came back around 5pm for night skiing, the crowd was less but still tons of people walking around totally maskless. Getting on the lift we had to ask a group of maskless people behind us to please back up as they were bumping into myself and my kids (no one was enforcing distancing). They were allowed on the gondola without a mask. When we took the kids to the top to work on the magic carpet we eventually had to leave because 4 adult who were also using the bunny hill were also mask less ... again the staff said nothing. Eventually we just left after 30 minutes since it was not a safe situation for either of my kids and husband. The Gondola ride down we tried to roll down the plastic window but it was stuck... The whole situation was a bummer. $450 for equipment and tickets for 30 minutes of mountain time because Keystone could not / would not uphold its promise of COVID precautions. I will be very very surprised if we test negative for COVID after this experience. read more

I love Keystone Ski Resort but I've never been a fan of their prices. Skiing isn't as cheap as you'd imagine it to be. The lift tickets themselves are more expensive than the actual equipment, bizarre right? I will say, if you plan on skiing more than one day i would suggest buying their 2 or 3 day pass. It comes out cheaper than buying each day individually. And if you can, purchase your lift tickets online as it can be more expensive at ticket window. Good thing is your lift ticket works at Breckenridge too. And one thing Keystone has that no other mountain offers is their night skiing. Everywhere around you is pitch black aside from the mountain that is lit up to help guide your way down. They also do fireworks on the weekends which is pretty cool to see while on the gondola or riding. There's also a free parking lot at River Run which is personally my favorite area of the resort but can fill up quick. If that's the case, they have a shuttle service to and from the resort for free. There are multiple shops at the base of River Run with multiple mediocre and pricey food options; crepes, burgers, beer, pot pie, you name it. But if you're a planner like me, making and packing some sandwiches and snacks ahead of time will help save you some $$ since all dining options are pretty taxed. Especially on the mountain itself. As for storing your belongs, we usually bring a book bag or you can rent a locker by the restrooms for the day. The filtered water fountains are my favorite. And you can expect water stations all throughout the mountain. Stay hydrated and happy riding! read more

Full disclosure, we have been season pass holders within the Vail Resorts chain for about 17 years. Someone has to explain to me how the COVID-19 reservations system is anything but a gigantic money grab. I get emails every week from several Vail resorts, including Keystone about "great snow" and encouraging me to make my reservations early. More on that in a moment. So, we thought with this system Keystone was limiting the number of skiers/riders "for safety". Give me a ^%$# break. In the 17 years since we have been going to Keystone, we have NEVER seen lift lines on a Saturday like those since the "reservations" system was rolled out. For example, we normally catch the first chair, obviously, very little wait except for those looking for first tracks, but usually at Keystone, the major lifts like Peru and the Summit Chair are at most 5-8 minutes wait for most of the morning. The back side is like a private resort all morning. The parking lot we normally use, near the clinic, was completely fully by 9:30 AM. We have never seen this before. But by 9:30 AM, ALL parking was full all the way out to the last row by Keystone Village. NEVER have seen that in 17 years. Limited reservations, eh? By 9:30--an hour after the lifts opened, Peru was a 40 minute wait, Summit chair was a 40 minute wait before 10:30 AM. We decided to "outsmart the system" and ski halfway down the mountain to catch the Montezuma lift so we could get to the backside. 50 minute wait at 10:05 AM! Oh, those "Wait Time" updates on the monitors? What lunatic is entering those? We went to the backside to get away from the front side crowds, and the Wayback Chair" was listed as "Open" (0 minutes wait). Try 25 minutes. Sure, you'll have some staff member bark at you if you lower your mask to get some air, but where is that concern with literally hundreds of people crammed together in these insane lines. Editorial Note: You have people bird dogging people about lowering their masks for a few moments, what about people 20 yards ahead getting on their cell phones to tell their buddies to skate through the Ski Patrol lane and duck the ropes to join them. Think that goes over well? Here's the new rule: Tell your line minders that when they see people jump under the rope, send the entire party to the end of the line. Problem solved. Why is it a money grab? One, if you're a season pass holder and you do not cancel your reservation before midnight the night before, and you don't show, you will sooner or later get banged by not being able to make a reservation until 24 hours before the day you want to go, which will eliminate ALL weekends. We have to purchase a Buddy Pass for our son (note to Keystone Web Designer: can you make it any more difficult to find Buddy Passes on your site? I challenge you to type Buddy Pass into your search bar). Buddy Passes are fully vested midnight before the day you're going, so there' no refund for bad weather, no transfer to another date. Two, why pack the resort so damned full? Food. We called Customer Service as we have always brought our lunch to the Mountain House. The guy said that was still okay, but you might have to eat in 15 minutes. Okay, I get that. But when we got there, lugging our cooler from the parking lot, there are signs NO EATING OR DRINKING OF ANY KIND! Oh, but you can make a reservation to dine inside. So, if you don't have dining reservations, you can't eat indoors, but can go for the $19.95 burger and soda ($22.95 for the burger and beer) if you want to eat it outside. Forcing season ticket holders to come or be restricted if they don't show for a CRAZY FULL resort is going to cause a lot of people not to come, or not get passes if, God forbid, the pandemic still is rolling next winter. If this really isn't about the money--packing the place, selling the burgers, and filling the restaurants with hungry customers now forced to buy super high-priced food, then prove it: a) The resort is FAR LESS safe than it ever has been. Yes, people are wearing masks, but literally hundreds upon hundreds of people in close proximity for nearly an hour in line while inching forward is super unsafe. b) REALLY DO LIMIT THE CROWDS so you don't have people incubating with COVID-positive skiers/riders while moving at a glacial pace c) ALLOW PEOPLE TO BRING THEIR OWN FOOD to the tables so we don't have to drop $100 for 3 people for lunch. Last- BE HONEST, don't try to sell packing the most people into the resort as we've seen in 17 years as some sort of "safety" precaution. We GET IT, you lost a fortune last year, but is this anyway to treat people by ridiculously overcrowding the resort? So, first chair at 8:30 AM. Burned out by the wait times by noon. Total Runs in 3.5 hours: 5 We won't be back this year, or next if the pandemic is still in place and you don't get it together. read more

It's normally pretty crowded on weekends and powder days. I'm a moderately good skier, and normally stay on the greens & blues, and sometimes it's a literal hazard because tourists come who can't ski and create issues. It's better on less crowded days. Keystone will always have a soft spot in my heart. It's my favorite out of the 4 Summit resorts (Arapahoe Basin, Breckinridge & Copper Mountain being the other 3). Over the last 20+ years, I've skied here 5 times (6 if you count night skiing separate). I learned and taught others to ski here, met my wife here and each experience is better than the last. It seems like every time we come, they add another mountain! We have never had bad snow conditions, hey it's Colorado! Groomed greens & blue cruisers are ridiculously fun. Blacks are challenging enough for anybody. Try to go to the back peaks away from everybody, but make sure you have enough time to make it back to the front face in the afternoon. Plus be warned that all the trails back there are mostly blacks with a few blues. If you're not too tired after a whole day, come back after dinner for some night skiing, which is kind of eerie. Now the story with my wife. She's a cousin of a friend that was invited along on a weeklong group trip. I'm usually the most experienced in the group, so I'm usually last down on the trails, picking up anyone that ditches. She wipes out bad on Schoolmarm of all places. Ski Patrol comes with the rescue sled, wraps her up and they take off. They're flying down the mountain, leaving my whole group in the dust (powder?) and I'm the only one that keeps up with the sled all the way down to the First Aid shack. After they wrap her leg, I make sure she's alright and get her back to the condo. Who knew that the Ski Patrol were also matchmakers? When we get back to NY, she takes me out to lunch to show her appreciation for staying with her the whole time because it turns out she tore her ACL. Even after her surgery, she never put on skis again, but I appreciate her more for indulging me when we go on ski trips. read more

These are the days I have wet dreams about. They're also the days that make me hate on Australian mountains for sucking so hard. Hey, Thredbo and Perisher and Blue Cow et al: be more better! Jerks. We only jammed in a couple days mid-March, but there was tons of room on the slopes and a metric ass-ton of fresh pow that held up throughout the (sunny) day without getting slushy or icy. It was like what skiing in Heaven must be like. Imagine the Apostles carving shit up on the good stuff, and that loser Judas spending the day on his ass. Went night skiing for the day from Denver and my group left our boots and some wallets in the lockers. Came back to grab our stuff and the doors were locked. I called guest services and NOBODY had a god damn key to open the place up. We waited out in the cold for 2 hours just for them to give us the run around and tell us there was nothing they could do. We had to drive back with no shoes and some stuff missing. I 100% will never go back to keystone, absolute trash service. Fvck this place read more

I just have to upgrade the review on this resort. I wasn't as tired as my first trip here, so I was able to enjoy the long (blue-intermediate) runs from top to bottom and simply the best ones out there. They have 2 gondolas connecting the 2 peaks which I didn't know before and there are more intermediate runs that I see and not as crowded as Breckenridge. The views are still majestic from every lift you ended up at and they even built an ice castle for kids to go inside and check it out on top of the main gondola. Seriously this resort rocks, I would totally come back here next time and definitely when it's powder, because the runs were super long and with powder, it made it even more fun to glide on snow. read more

RIP OFF ALERT Summer Kids Activities Review - not a review of the skiing or accommodations We were lucky and they had a kids 'day' from 11am-1pm and had free face painting, music, games, etc... this was 10x better than the things you had to pay for. This review is not for this but worth mentioning given the poor showing for the pay activities. The all day pass cost $50/person - kids and adults are the same price. Includes $15 of food at the Pub. Totally NOT worth it. They need many more activities for this to be worth it. You could spend the same $ and take your kid to a real fun park and do MUCH more. This review will detail why... Food at the Pub - 3/5 Flavors and quality was good but the price, as expected, was about double what it was worth. Again, no surprise here but when you get $15 voucher you are really getting $7 in food for the quantity/quality. Overall Customer Service - 5/5 All staff were great. Very friendly and very helpful - this is not always the case in places like this so it is a very nice treat Activities / Variety - 2/5 The best items were the bungee trampoline and bounce houses. This is worth about $15 total for an all day pass. Activity Specifics... Gondola 0/5 Closed Mon-Wed, REALLY!? Panning for Gems - 4/5 my 4 year old loved it, they put in small "gems" (real rocks - slivers mostly) Bounce Houses - 4/5 two houses, one is regular one is pretty cool. Paddle Boating - 1/5 2 miles from the main area!!! on a tiny man-made pond. really lame Mini Putt - 2/5 Large space but the holes were pretty basic and not near the other activities. This review is based on my personal needs. This place sucks for the beginner. You have a choice of a green run that the only thing that separates it from a blue is maybe 10 feet of width. Crazy steep in parts and way way way intimidating. So if your new enough to not take a nice steep hill consistently. . .well what do you do? You have a ski run thats on this side of a bunny hill. Short. Nothing to it. . .and boring. I really had a pretty bad time here. . .because there really isn't anything interesting or fun for beginners. The Schoolmarm is WAY to complicated and steep (in parts) and the non-steep greens are so short you will be bored in an hour. read more

One of my favorite resorts! Not only is it close to Denver but it's so laid back! Definitely get that Denver vibe at a Vail Resort! The village is super cute and has everything you could want. If you don't want anything there, everything else is just a short drive away. So convenient! They literally have everything you could want here! Tubing, ice skating, a snow castle, and of course runs for skiing/snowboarding! The runs are freaking awesome and there's a park! Definitely check the runs before you go down them because sometimes they change. Like Frenchman is usually awesome but then sometimes there's moguls which makes it not awesome for people like me who just like to cruise and not do anything scary! Super family friendly or not, whichever you prefer. They have a daycare there too if you want to do your own things without kids for a bit! Although I haven't been to all the resorts yet, this is by far my favorite one out of the ones we've been to! Check it out! read more

Just after 3 days of riding Breckenridge on mostly blues, I come here to think "Dude, Keystone should be cake" Wrong. Their greens/"school zone"...not the typical flat greens, my Yelp friends. The beginners are in for a real ride. Some of their slopes I would consider them almost blues. Which means...their blues are a little steeper than the norm. Correction, A LOT steeper. Sometimes, I thought I was riding blue/black. Their blacks...for the short black I went on was doable, but if the run was any longer I might be sh*tting in my pants and crying for mercy. I had a lot of fun at Keystone--their runs are long, diverse, wide and they have a lot of lifts and a gondola to take you up. I'd say Keystone endures more of a nature feel than Breck. From the top of the mountain, you can even see Breck. Come to Keystone($93/lift ticket) for the advanced ski/snowboarding runs and night-skiing options. However, if you are planning a stay here, there isn't much of a town in Keystone as there is Breck. read more

Oh Keystone. How I love thee. This place is unbelievable. Yes Vail is bigger, Vail is probably nicer in many ways. but Keystone is just so amazingly gorgeous and breathtaking that I don't think you would want to ever leave. I had the luxury of visiting this resort both in the summer and in the winter time. Although I can't speak much for the snow since last year their coverage was just terrible, the summer was an incredible experience. The mountain is looming, the forest, trees and every bit of nature is exhilarating and there is simply so much to do. All the lodging here is pretty nice to standard and the gondolas take you all the way to the top! You can rent bikes and take hiking tours. You can lounge around in one of their spa properties. I got bit by a spider while I was here. But that's irrelevant. This place rocks. Would come back again! read more

Seeking to get away for a Christmas ski day Carrie J and her husband invited the BF and I to Keystone with them. I was beyond excited, because this is my first year skiing and Keystone marks my third ski trip and fourth day skiing. For our first run we headed up the Montezuma Express and took a right to go down Schoolmarm for a "warm up" run. Being the beginner that I am, I enjoyed our two runs down this (especially when I had boots that fit me properly). Carrie J, her husband, and my BF are all more seasoned skiers, so they were wanting to hit the blues or even the blacks. Thinking it was worth a try I followed them... Probably not my best moment. I fell. A lot. I looked like a snowman. I sat, for what my BF classified as "forever." We attempted to find a couple open greens' to get me down the mountain unscathed (well less scathed), but they were all closed off the couple blue runs we ended up on. Luckily for them and I the gondola has a mid mountain stop. So I waved my white flag and took that down to the bottom. After that we called it a day. So I think I successfully ruined Christmas (just kidding, kinda.) I do hope to go back and spend some time on some of the greens and eventually hit the blues again with more experience under my short skis. We all have these moments learning right? Four stars because my less than fun experience was primarily my fault, but you could've helped a girl out and had some more greens' open. Until we meet again Keystone... read more

This will be my 3rd time staying at keystone. 2st time I stayed at the Keystone Lodge which was a nice place. The next 2 times I stayed at the River Run. This current stay I am at the Red Hawk in room 2245 and it is very comfortable! So comfortable that I have overslept and need to pack as I checkout today. The staff at Keystone resorts are very helpful. All the extras are available in the room. All you need to do is go to the market to to fill the fridge and pantry. I traveled by myself this time and have felt safe in this area. The conference center is also a good place for meetings. The facility is well equipped. I'm looking forward to the following year to return to River Run!! read more

Okay, you're in for a treat. Tip #1: If you're having a Fri-Sun vacation in Summit County, then Keystone is a great place to start, on Friday itself, 'cos it's got night skiing. Tip #2: Go for the free parking. Sure, you walk a bit, but if you're gonna spend the next few hours torturing yourself on the slopes, why not start at the parking lot? That and you'd be a sucker to pay for parking. Tip #3 (this may not be legal, but WTF): As you find your way toward the ticket counter, look out for kids leaving the resort. Don't be surprised if you score a day+night ticket for $5. You'll need sharp teeth, and a new plastic zip tie from the ticket counter. Tip #4: Do not - I repeat - do not, under any circumstances, take the moguls on your first run. You might think that you're good. You might even think that you're gonna show those fellow out-of-towners how it's done... you'd be better off shooting yourself in the, um, groin 'cos that's how much pain you'd be in anyway after that first ambitious run. Tip #5: If you start seeing your own blood pumping through the capillaries in your eyes, time out. Tip #6: If your pulse is 150 a minute, time out. Tip #7: If you can't seem to breathe, time out, you lowlanders. Tip #8: Drink plenty of water. Tip #9: Pick a sick line and enjoy. read more

I believe that I would not be the skier I am today without Keystone. Having grown up skiing on ant hills in the Midwest, after moving to Denver it was certainly intimidating to step up to the plate and start skiing in Colorado....aka the major leagues. As a beginner skiing level I always enjoyed Keystone. It never intimidated be and made me feel welcome with its beautiful groomed green runs. The length of all the runs are impressively long giving you more time getting comfortable and advancing instead of spending your time in lines or on the lifts. Over the next few years I really upped my game and progressed in my skiing confidence and abilities. Through each stage Keystone always had something to offer and I never felt bored. It's impressive terrain gives you everything from groomed runs, tree runs, moguls, and runs that are a perfect blended combination of all of those. The mountain encouraged me to try new things and challenge myself. I learned that I really enjoy tree runs and Keystone has some great ones. I really love the trees between the runs on North peak and The Outback. The night skiing is really nice too. It's a good way to spend a couple hours after work during the week. They do a good job of having the runs prepared nicely for you even after a whole day of people skiing it out. Night skiing limits the runs you can take but thankfully they are long and peaceful runs with a lot less people. It can be quite the experience being out on the mountain at night enjoying life. If you are lucky you can catch the fire works while skiing and that's pretty effin' cool. Keystone tends to stay less crowded than some of the bigger resorts in Colorado so lift lines are rarely long. I also thing they do a good job of offering different retreats and workshops for everyone at a reasonable price. The village at the base is small but has everything you need. The staff is always friendly and I LOVE being greeted by a beautiful, smiling, older lady who typically greets you before the bridge. The food is overpriced as expected being apart of Vail Resorts but feel free to pack a backpack full of food/snacks/drinks/sandwiches to cut costs. They also have some grills set up for you to use. The washroom facilities are always tidy and offer little extras. For women in particular they offer feminine products for free in case you are in need. We have the epic local pass and appreciate all the mountains on our pass but skiing at keystone is always a personal experience that feels like coming home. read more

First time skiing Colorado, and we were able to get Epic 4-day passes to Key & ABasin for a very reasonable cost. This ski resort is very nicely laid out. The slopes are well marked, and there are efficient/fast gondolas and lifts servicing every area. They even have CAT lifts to take more experienced skiers up to the higher altitude double black areas (NOT for me). The thing I found most endearing is the fact that if you ever need assistance, just look for the folks in the red jackets. They are there to help. Most are very kind older ladies and gents, and they are able to suggest where to go, what to do and how to get there. Very patient for us newbies. The slopes were groomed corduroy for the most part, but one day we were there we were able to experience fresh powder. WONDERFUL! easy skiing in that stuff. Only downside is in the afternoon sun, certain runs get a little slick. Opt for the shaded slopes for less slippery conditions. When you get tired of skiing, take the gondola from the top over to the "Outpost" for some fantastic grub and beautiful scenery. Would definitely go back to Keystone again! read more

This is the worst of the Vail Resorts. The mountain terrain and snow are fine. But the people that work there and the clientele are so rude. Most of the boarders and many of the skiers are completely out of control and going way faster than their ability should allow. If you don't mind having boarders run into you or your kids, you should be fine. If you want a nice experience on a mountain, try Breck, Vail or Beaver Creek. read more

"Ok little Jimmy, now you be good on your lesson, I know this is your first time on ski's and you can barely move in your 40 layers, but you are going to do just fine. Mommy will meet you at lunch time and you and I can take up three tables for all of our clothing, family and $45 lunches. Mommy loves you." I actually enjoy Keystone because it is usually where the sun hangs out. If Breck is cloudy, then Keystone is usually sunny.... Just how it is. Keystone is clean and extremely family friendly. The runs are relatively easy in comparison with some of the other runs at nearby Breck, but you don't have nearly the crowd and the more difficult runs are usually pretty clear for speed skiing...Which may I add makes you feel like you own the mountain when you feel like you are going 60mpg, and you swear on it... Yeah right! Come to Keystone with the fam, with the beginner, or when you are looking for a good resort with less crowds. * Star one for having the sun on your side... When it gets cold, it is miserable. A cold day with sun is heaven. ** I live in a lodge star two is for nice lodges with giant fireplaces *** White glove star three is for clean runs, lodges and snow.... Schoolmar is my absolute favorite run. A 4.5 mile green, it takes about 20 minutes to get down the mountain. It's a solid run and super fun. Has a few steep hills but mostly it is easy skiing. Bunny hill is at top of mountain which is super odd and scary for beginners. I don't recommend you learning to ski here- go to Loveland instead! Keystone is very nice but less uppity and stuckup than Breck, Vail, and Aspen. Will be back! read more

Keystone, I adore you. The parking sucks (on weekends). The drive (weekend traffic on two-lane road) also sucks. But you... you, I love. Standing at the top wondering which run to go down, I did a few 360's and came to the conclusion that I was in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. That view! Ah :) I have been going through Mammoth-withdrawals, after racking up some 100+ days there in the last couple years, but Keystone is my new Mammoth; they remind me very much of one-another. How can you beat the combination of: *Fresh, clean air *Wildlife everywhere, including deer on the runs *Perfect weather (escape the heat, go to 11K feet) *Almost empty (no lines, you could take your time on the runs) Best of all was the thrill of flying out of the tress, across a patch of snow and through huge mud puddles; absolutely awesome! It seems that several of the runs were closed, but this might be due to the fact that they just opened. They also offer rentals for all the equipment you need, and they are surprisingly affordable. Huge. Slopes. What have I gotten myself into? So put yourself into my shoes for a second. Just 2 days before I skied at Loveland. That was my first time skiing. This is going to be my second time skiing ever. Oh, and on top of that I didn't have lessons. My learning consisted of "winging" it. This place I have to say if you're a skier or snowboarder is the place to go. The place is very well managed and very organized. Prices are steep, but what do you expect? This is an expensive ass sport. If you're a newbie like me, take some classes, or if you want to wing it like me I would suggest a smaller place. Who knows, maybe you're a boss and would be able to conquer these slopes as a newbie. All I'm saying is that I hold no responsibility of you trying to prove yourself. I fell. A good amount. I think that was my primary stopping mechanism. (I wasn't that bad, but just sayin.) Now, say you're hungry. No worries! There's a restaurant up top that serves the most over-priced shit ever! Now, you do have the option of bringing your own food if you want, but who wants to carry all that stuff? The restaurant serves mostly the same things you would find at any other American restaurant: Pizza, Burgers, some salads, some deli items, etc. I only came here for the slopes, but I would definitely recommend to come here if you're an experienced skier or snowboarder. For me, it's in the imaginary book of "shit I've done in my life" and that chapter is closed. Who knows, maybe I'll get a spark of inspiration and want to go out and hit the slopes again. read more

Took my kids to Denver just for this experience! Keystone has so much to offer! Ice skating rink on a frozen lake surrounding a little village, tubing for you non skiers or snowboarders and the view of the Rockies! I will deff be back! Most places will have a small bunny slope for beginners but this place has a 3.5 miles just for families and beginners! Did I mention I saw sleeping elks near by? Deff take on the nature this place has to offer! read more

This was a good location for our vacation We got here after really dangerous conditions on the road,but to our surprise this place was just off the road the 6-freewway. I did not ski or do any snowboarding,but just being in that environment was really refreshing. Would definitely go back again read more

I have been a Epic pass skier with Vail Associates for years. Always complemented them on their benefits to skiers and visitors to their resorts. But I have to point out a real greedy and poor policy at Keystone. I skied Keystone with my Epic Pass and enjoyed it immensely. My wife was with me, but she is disabled and does not ski. I suggested she ride the Gondola up and meet me for lunch. (not an issue at Breck). Keystone said she would have to pay either $36.00 for the Gondola or $56.00 for the ride and lunch. I was flabbergasted at the sheer greed. Most of the cars were empty, and we would have spent a significant amount on lunch at the top. Not to mention, she would have had the opportunity to rave about the views on social media. (instead of this review). "Vail Associates....!!! you make plenty of money" Don't rip-off the handicapped. Fix this. BTW, the skiing was fantastic and the runs were beautifully groomed and conditions just perfect. I will always return to Keystone to ski. read more

This resort is just ok. The mountain is huge and beautiful, but I can only give 3 stars because the facility is very run down. Looks like they have tried to do some updates but overall this place is in petty bad shape. Also staff are all pretty spaced out. Everyone we came into contact with that worked here weren't friendly or helpful. Its a little cheaper to ski or board here but I dont feel the saving are worth it. Id rather pay a little more and go to a nice place with modern facilities and a friendly staff. read more

I have been coming to keystone for many years and the 2020-2021 ski season is the first time I have been thoroughly disappointed. In the lift lines no one is properly socially distanced and the majority of guests do not properly wear their masks even in the rare occurrence of an employee asking guests to fix their mask. Unless an employee is directing the lift lines most people choose to load lifts normally without leaving empty seats between groups as required by summit county. It would be really nice if Keystone and it's employees enforced social distancing policies across the resort and did more than the bare minimum. If I hadn't already used my pass this year I would be requesting a refund as I feel that keystone is going to be the reason I test positive at some point this season. read more

Been skiing here for years. Love the resort. Less crowded usually and narrower runs with less runways.

Great ski area with lots of varied terrain. Definitely kid friendly with Kidtopia area. There is first come first serve free parking and a few close in lots. The Gondola at the base is awesome and you can even download from the top. You can also purchase a pass to ride the gondola to the lodge up top for lunch and not ski. They have lessons and ski or snowboard rental at the base area. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and Starbucks at the base. You can find most anything you need and there is plenty of lodging too. read more
