I lost the key fob to my 2007 Prius. I called several locksmiths for pricing. Tommy's told me $350. I called Pick-a-lock and they texted me $200, but when I said OK and sent my address and asked how long before they could come out, they never responded. I called Triple A and they said they couldn't come out for a lost key fob, but would refund me $50 for locksmith services. I filled out an online form for KB locksmith, never heard back. I called this place and he asked if I had an all black fob or one with a silver Toyota symbol on it. Mine was all black. He said $280 and could come in an hour and 15 minutes. Sounded great to me. He arrived promptly, even found his way to my parking lot where the car was. He has a van with a little shop inside, very well prepared. It took him about 50 minutes which he said was longer than usual but he got it done. Fob works perfectly. When I told him about the $350 price I was quoted from Tommy's, he said that's if my fob had had the silver logo. Tommy's never asked about the colors of the fob. I would highly recommend them. I did a lot of research and now you other Yelpers can read my experience and save yourself some time and money. And if you have Triple A, go online and download a form to send in with your receipt to get the refund. read more

I tried to get a smart key copied which needed to be cut and programmed. Of course I was shopping around and calling other locksmiths in the area. I was first quoted for $140 and told them I'd give them a call back. I called back the next day for the same exact service and they quoted me for $190. I mentioned that I was quoted for less and they still chose not to grant it. This type of inconsistency is a horrible business practice. read more

Locked my one and only key in the trunk of my Jetta and knew I was screwed. Spoke with a locksmith who told me that the only way to get a new key was to go thru the dealer. Coincidently I was parked next to a dealership. Was told a key would take 3 days but I needed to show my registration to prove I was the owner. And where does one keep the registration? In the glove box-in my locked car. Just about to surrender to my hours of trying when Joe called. Poor thing had just left the north bay and was already home however he was there and key was made within an hours time. Lost the only key to a 1998 Audi A6, was told by the dealership that I would have to have the car towed in to have a key made and have it programmed. I was looking down the barrel of a $500 mistake. Needless to say I felt helpless, until I called KeyMaster Locksmith. Not only could he come to me and make me a new key but it would be for far less, but thankfully I was able to get the key code from a dealership (which I had to fight for, but that is a whole other story in it's self and a real bad review coming soon to a dealership near you). After calling at least 6 other locksmiths that I found here on yelp, and just got voicemails (and 1 full mailbox....gah), my call got answered, a time was set up (same day!) and he arrived right on time, fantastic. Just replaced a deadbolt on a front door but it was broken open so a little extra time had to be spent, he was gracious and quick, couldn't ask for anything more. Price seemed fair, don't really have anything to compare it to, but I'm happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone in the San Pablo area. Thanks! read more

Search no more and this is the one you should call if you need key or lock service. I call Joe and he give me same day service and come within hours. My side gate was locked and we don't have a key, Joe cut out the old lock and changed a new one with 2 new keys that he has in his van.
