I called this locksmith after having my key stolen. was told I was going to wait about 45 minutes into two hours. the locksmith was very rude, but honestly super efficient. I've had to get a key made before and it was super fast. Maybe took 15- 20 minutes. I did have something wrong with my key and needed to get it remade. when the driver arrived, he complained and accuse me multiple times of breaking the key. Made me key and requested me to pay for the broken key. again, the new key was made super fast and as little as 20 minutes. the work is super fast. one, the guy said my lock was not pickable, which is a lie and a common grift so that they can just quickly drill your door. But then to replace the $10 cylinder he offered to charge me $120. That's not the best part. There are two screws that hold the lock in place on a door. HE HAMMERED the lock with a chisel for 20 minutes until he sheered the front screw off of this $700 door mechanism Instead of taking it apart to get the screw out, and then said it was broken before he got there and offered to replace the whole thing with a cheaper mechanism for $1100. Contractor friend came out and bought a new cylinder and a screw and fixed it in about 20 minutes for $30. Charge ended up being $200 to destroy my door, good job folks read more

I lost my keys and they came promptly to Richmond. The guy who helped me was named John, and he was really polite and quick. It surprised me how fast they work: it only took about 5 minutes. Although my phone malfunctioned when he called me in the morning, the original time we scheduled, I called the main office and they helped me reach him and he came super quick. The key itself doesn't really slide in nice into the door (I kind of have to jam it in) and it is kind of expensive (over $300 for the first key and $40 for a copy), but for the service, excellent communication, and quickness, I would highly recommend. I understand that this might have been because he was super busy that day and might have been rushing, since we missed our original schedule for the morning. This place is an assault on your wallet!!! Just this afternoon, I called to ask for a locksmith to install a smart lock (that we already had!) at our home in Berkeley. A couple of minutes later I get a call from a guy named "Jordan", saying that he would be in the house within 2h max. I thought "great", "quick and efficient". Jordan arrived at my house at 2:30 pm (pic attached) and gave me a call saying he was outside. My husband and he went on the installation details, and I could not believe that he was asking for $300 (for the installation) + $150 for 1h labor. We thought it was outrageous and should have said "No, thank you", but the guy was already here, and we really needed the door to be safe - so we let him do the job. 1h and 40 min later, Jordan leaves our home without cleaning the mess (pictures attached) he made, and asks for $591! $591 for: 1) a smart lock installation that was already purchased by us; 2) a hole that was wrongly measured, so he could no longer screw the metal piece that comes with the lock; 3) a mess; 4) $12 more than it should have been (1h40min it's not 1h50min); 5) a bunch of excuses to explain why he couldn't install the metal piece on top of that hole; 6) $29 for the call Not only took him more than 1h to do the job, but he also required my husband's help to align the lock. Scammed....sent out locksmith in an SUV to our place of business. He did not know what he was doing. Gathered Materials from Home Depot a number of times and said it was industrial locks. He ran back and forth to shop and Home Depot . Used wood drill bits for metal frame and mangled the door frame. Locks would not latch when door shut. I had to pay almost $700.00 for work to be done when he 1st arrived. I had to fire Eastbay Locksmith and hired another professional "REAL" Locksmith company to repair and install new locks. Just know that the technician is very nice and they are responsive, but they will charge you the very upper most part of the range they give you. It was $159+ to unlock an interior door. They offered to send the invoice to explain. So $19 + whatever work the technician believes necessary so an not to damage the door etc. This was a standard interior door lock. We set up an appointment for the next at a specific place and a specific time. We arrived, waited until 10 minutes after our appointment time and called to make sure our tech was coming. A very gruff man answered and yelled that he had tried to call me 3 times to find out what kind of lock I needed to break. I received NO calls, none were registered on my cell...so it wasn't a " I missed the ringer" type deal. It was just a lie. He finally said he would send a tech who would arrive in 15-29 minutes. The tech arrived...took over one hour to break a standard rotary lock and them charged us $435!!!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM, THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO MILK YOU FOR YOUR MONEY! I would give them Zero stars if I could. I am giving this Locksmith service one star because of their poor customer service. It seems like the employees there do not communicate with one another. My key shattered in my pocket and I called them to see if I could have a technician come out and fix my key. I spoke with a lady (who apparently was the manager), I gave her my information and she proceeded to tell me that she didn't have my information on file. I provided her with my name, number and address and she still could not find me in her system (which was incorrect b/c I purschaed a key from them later last year). I called them back with the hopes of speaking with someone else, I managed to get another operator who was able to pull up my information right away. They had a technician get in touch with me and he was extremely hostile, telling me there was a service fee that I all of a sudden had to pay b/c I asked to speak to another technician b/c of his hostility. He proceeded to say "I don't like your way" and hung up in my face. This is not the first unpleasant experience I've had with him. I can't believe they allow someone with such poor customer service and awareness work for them. It was super easy to schedule because they are available any time of day which works perfect for people who work long hours or have busy schedules. I had Locksmith East Bay come to install two Medeco locks. Unfortunately the technician Jordan did not know how to do this. When he widened the hole in the back door, he made it too big. When he put the lock in, there is now a 2 inch crescent gap, widest area is 1/4 of an inch. I can actually see into the inside of the lock. Jordan left without telling me he had made this mistake - it was on the outside of the door. I discovered it later. I was not happy. I have been trying for a week to speak with the Manager whom I was told was Steve. Every one asks me to call back at another time and when I do, Steve never takes my call. Even set his phone to say "the prescriber is not taking voices mail at this time". Worse than that is no one will connect me with the higher management person who should be handling this problem and accept responsibility for this damage to the door and the inappropriate installation of the locks. The safety features of the lock were not installed - like the steel case for the dead blocks in both locks. Some one needs to accept responsibility for this damage. No one has even come to inspect the door. I have not been able to initiate a claim. Replacing the door will not be cheap. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! If you have a problem, they will leave you hanging!! read more

I contacted this company very late last night since my husband had a problem with his ignition being locked. They scheduled service for me the next morning and were very prompt with the work! John came and did the work. I asked for a second issue with my vehicle and he looked into it. He tried to resolve it in any way he could and told me that it would have to be replaced.
