He heard me tell someone "weapon" so he got scared and asked what I was talking to someone else about. Our office was broken in to (no damages, no forced entry, nothing stolen, just a picked lock because we have no deadbolt). I told someone, "What if someone comes back with a weapon next time?" No one is coming that we know of. It was just a passing thought. A "what if" scenario. He got scared and said he wouldnt come. He wouldn't listen or communicate. He just kept repeating himself to go find someone else and that he was not coming. This is fine, but to not communicate and keep repeating himself felt childish and unprofessional. We called for service this morning. We were told the fee just to come is $100 and the rest will depend on the work that needs to be done. Apparently, Jerry doesn't work anymore. We were charged $250 to have our front door lock fixed....mind you, fixed (not replaced). $250 for half an hour walk is too much in my opinion. But we did not have a choice at that point as we would still be out $100 if we did not proceed with his service because that's his minimum charge just for showing up. He is a nice guy and he was upfront that the call fee was $100...it was my fault for assuming that the $100 would count towards his labor fee. It was also my fault that I did not ask for quotation from other vendors. I just chose the company due to our prior good experience. But I definitely do not remember being charged so much...that's why I gave a previous 5 star rating. I'm still giving 3 stars though because he was responsive, arrived on time, and fixed our front door lock. We were supposed to use him again to eventually replace our front door lock but I can't afford to pay him over $600 for it!!! read more

My truck was missing the front passenger door cylinder lock. I ordered a replacement from eBay however it needed to be rekeyed to match my ignition and other doors. Jerry is the best at what he does! Let me explain. Our key broke off into our car door and we had it towed to the house. For a week it sat there waiting for this other guy we contacted 1st to come help us. He acted like he was just too busy like he was a well know body shop or something for 120 dollars. After contacting 2 other companies not open on weekends and also never contacted us back even after leaving messages. Our last resort was Somers lock and keys they were #4 on Google search which they should be #1 for the whole bay area. Allow me to explain we contacted him that Saturday night at about 6pm as our last hope he answered asked where we lived and got there an hour later and told us this could cost between 140$-180$ desperate we did not care we needed to get to work after bumming rides from co workers. It took him almost two hours to get that damn tiny piece out the door just when I gave up he looks up and says I got it so we offered to go get him some water he excepted. YALL we were gone 6 minutes we come back he had 2 keys made right out of his company car YALL !!!!with the door back on all nuts and bolts in they're original spots. And after 3 hours of helping in the cold on his knees he still only charged us 140 and we couldn't except that after all he did we gave him a 40$ tip. I contacted Somers Lock & Key because I believed that someone had tampered with my front door lock because my house key no longer worked. They asked me what the problem was and I told them that my key would no longer fit into the lock. They stated to me that the weather may have caused the problem and to spray some WD-40 on the lock.
