Even though this place is incredibly small, and is about the size of my bedroom, I have to give it 5 stars since they have an amazing beer selection. My girlfriend and I went here on a Friday night for a friend's happy hour, and they had 2 for 1 drink specials. Great spot. Went with a group on a Sunday night - it was quiet when we arrived around 9:30, but it picked up closer to 11. There was a guest DJ from Japan, and a cool electric-violinist who accompanied different techno music and played on the tables. The drink prices are great - cocktails top out at $12, but they are 2-for-1 until 10pm. Even better than most 2-for-1 deals is that each drink you buy before that point earns you a chit for a free drink. These chits can be redeemed anytime for a free drink - after 10pm, the next day, or months down the line! They have a wide variety of beers on tap (not just the standards), and some interesting cocktails and shots as well. While we were there, a man in the bar who was getting married soon bought everyone there a round of Rolo shots - basically a thick chocolate-y milkshake with a kick of vodka at the end. The bartenders are really nice and very low-key, with good explanations of the beers and cocktails. Super friendly, great spot! Will be making a return trip for sure! read more

I came here with friends to take advantage of the 2 for 1 until 10 pm happy hour since rarely can my friends arrive on time for most happy hour specials that run from 5 - 7 pm. I was afraid that the crowd would skew young, college-age, but was pleased to see a mixed, diverse crowd. I liked my drink - I ordered some mango mixed drink and was pleased and the bartender was patient with me when I asked what were in different mixed drinks. The bathroom was not bad - I was expecting a much divier bathroom but there was toilet paper and soap, which is not always present at dive bar. It was pretty packed when I arrived around 8:30 pm but as happy hour ended, the place emptied enough where my friends I can could comfortably stand around and/or sit near the bar. The music was great - the typical bar music mix of 80s rock and pop with a few oldies mixed in. I will definitely come again! read more

Great place! A friend of mine owns it, and he is friendly, but what makes this a fun and easygoing bar is that people are just friendly in it. I brought a gf for her birthday there and she had a blast. She danced, drank and got to know people. I went there with someone I was seeing and it was just as pleasant. First of all idk what the hell all these reviewers are talking about. Granted, I went on a Friday night so obviously it was going to be cramped. I knew this going in. What I didn't know was how small it is, so as a result me and my group of friends - 3 of us in total - had to keep moving around the bar to accommodate the wave of people coming in and out of the bar. The seating sections were small and all reserved so sitting wasn't an option and I was really annoyed because the yelp page says "lounge" and "dance club" so I expected a space much larger than what they had! I hated it because ever 15 seconds I'd get interrupted with "excuse me!!". The music is horrible (I actually like deep house) but this was something I've never heard before. The art work didn't help at all either so with everything mixed together it reminded me of an edgy movie from the 90/80s. My friends and I literally only had 2 drinks before we were overwhelmed and HAD to get out of there. Shout out for the strong cheap drinks though. read more

Went to Keybar for my birthday based on the deal advertised on the website about free shots as well as the location. Great experience, we got 13 free Lychee Vodka shots, mission accomplished. Great size, good ambience, music was a little too loud but DJ was great. I went here this past Saturday to celebrate my bday!! There are two major things I enjoyed about this place: the 2 for 1 happy hour- even on Saturdays!- til 10pm, and the super nice, unpretentious protocol to reserve a table. First off, this happy hour is a dream. You buy your drink and with each that you buy you get a free drink ticket of equal or lesser value. Now the happy hour goes until 10 but if u still have drink cards you haven't used, you can use it after 10 AND even on another day when you come back! Music to my broke NYC resident ears! Secondly, i got the tip from another yelper to reserve a table bc the place is unexpectedly too small. I am SO glad I did. To make my celebration even more stress-free, they don't require any of that NYC type bullshit that usually comes along with reserving a table such as a per person minimum or any of that shit. No cost to reserve, super easy. The booth was spacious and private. The only gripe I have was there was no table service- we had to get up to get our drinks but I'll take that over the usual bullshit required to reserve a table. Overall this place is an excellent start to the night. Music is more like background even after the DJ arrived, which is great for catching up with friends but not conducive to crazy drunken dance parties. Highly recommend! read more

My best friend was attempting to find a place to celebrate his birthday so he found Keybar and we came on down to give it a go and see if it was birthday worthy... and OH BOY! was it ever! the drinks are good, bartenders are friendly, (and apparently have a remarkable memory). The crowd is pretty mixed and till about 12am it's pretty packed... that just gives you an idea of how awesome it is! they have a 2 for 1 special till 10pm on Friday nights but I see on the flyers that on Sundays and Mondays it's all night 2 for 1 drinks. (I'll get to the drinks in a second). Once it slows down a bit it's even better because you can get the dj to play whatever you want if he's got it. So we chose this for the party celebration...(**note if you make reservations make sure you get there on time because they will book a new party... but no hard feelings lol) We hung around and when it cleared up we got a whole couch for our party! We got to meet the owner (Attila, If I'm not spelling it right forgive me I was very drunk lol) he was a pretty cool cat, and get this... He invented every drink on his menu!!! I like fruity drinks and there is a passion fruit one, and a mango drink that have become my all-time favorites! But I have to make mention of 2 shots.. the Rolo... tastes like chocolate! and last but certainly not least... The Brain Damage... IT LOOKS LIKE AN ACTUAL BRAIN!!!
