DO NOT HIRE THIS LANDSCAPER unless you thrive on frustration. I got an estimate from Erik Morales to lay pavers (which I already had), install some bullnose on a couple of large raised planters, and build a redwood pergola for a ~15'x18' section of my back yard. He came back with an almost $14K estimate on April 14. I'm 66 and have lung cancer, and needed the work done, so I signed the paperwork. Then the waiting game started. Over the next month I contacted the company at least 5 times by phone and email. First the wife/secretary was sick, then they were out of town, then "we're working on the May calendar", then another excuse, followed by silence. Since then my son-in-law and I got the ground leveled and prepped and are laying the pavers this weekend. Remember I'm 66 with terminal cancer and already have the pavers AND bullnose. It's NOT THAT HARD. The pergola's going in next week. It's very frustrating to deal with a contractor that has absolutely no communication skills. If you don't want the job, just tell me, don't jack me around for a month. Estimate expired May 14. Such a waste of what little time I have left. Three thumbs WAY down for this bozo. read more

I'm so disappointed with Kerri Landscape. I called them and talked to Eric who set up an appt for a walk through. We had the walk through and talked and I gave him a photo showing ideas of what I had in mind. I still had the former yard design done in 2013 and Eric asked to borrow it when he left. I was told I'd hear back in a week. I've waited three weeks and my attempts to get in contact with someone at the main business number and also at the direct number Eric gave me are being ignored. I also left a message for Eric asking him to return the old yard plan he'd "borrowed" but I haven't had any response about that either. Professional and Reliable! Rich was very easy to work with and was responsive to all our questions and requests for design modifications including a last minute one that happened later on in the project. We were extremely impressed by the professionalism of his crew and their quality of work. We put in new irrigation, leveled the ground around our house and added concrete. For the amount of digging up that had to be done, the guys always left the accessible areas clear and clean at the end of the day. Once they started putting in the plants around the house, we especially appreciated their flexibility in accommodating a last minute change. So far so good...we've been wanting to upgrade our front yard for some time and finally found the time and some money to get our act together. The job was completed in December and except for some early weeds popping up things still look great. We really wanted to use a local company and made several calls. One person showed up, seemed very nice, but never got back to us as promised. Jenna from Kerri came out next. Jenna was very personable and offered a lot of very good ideas that either complimented what we thought we wanted, or made it better. She put together a drawing and price sheet that provided different options so we could use our budget to get what worked best for us. We asked for a few changes and they were done immediately and a new drawing was provided. They worked with us on the installation dates and the installation crew couldn't have been better. Dave and his crew were on time, very polite and cleaned up our front yard each day before they left. Our driveway, the sidewalks, our lawn...everything was cleaned up and not left a mess. Dave is very knowledgeable and doesn't just look at the plan and move ahead without any thought. He knows the plants and how they grow. Though I had a general idea of what I wanted done, Rich brought some great ideas to the table (like removing a fence and gate to an unused dog run to open up the area) that made the final product even better. What I like best about working with Rich is that he provides drawings of what he proposes with detailed bids. This allows me to picture his vision and then work with him to ensure we end up with a look we are both proud of. His crew is always on time and professional. We hired Kerri Landscaping recently to fix our deck which was sagging from erosion due to poor drainage underneath (our yard is on a hill). They also extended the drainage from the gutters out further in the yard into "sump" pits they made to avoid future erosion problems. I can't speak highly enough about how extremely professional they were: they started every morning on-time, they were extremely organized and tidied up after there day, and they worked very efficiently. They even brought their own port-a-potty! The foreman, Dave, came every day to make sure everything was going as planned, and Rico the lead made sure the plans were executed flawlessly. Superb company. Hire them! Did our entire backyard from scratch - design through installation - and were great at every step. The designer incorporated the features we liked rather than pushing a vision on us, the project manager was in constant communication and the labor team were professional and hard workers. They worked within our budget, ran a self-contained job and had almost no impact on our daily lives. They left the place looking wonderful and had a number of nice little touches - moving our birdfeeder, for example, rather than just tearing it down during the construction. My only issue was initial response - I submitted the online form and it took about a week to get a reply, so if you want quick communications I suggest calling them. The design phase, scheduling, adjusting to changing ideas, presenting options as the work progressed, and cleanup were all first rate. There were numerous areas were the crew went above and beyond. For instance, at the very end of the job, we discovered that there were intermittent electrical connections from the sprinkler valve controller to the valves. This guy is a rip off merchant! plain and simple! I had Rich come and quote a job. A retaining wall his first quote for the repair work was $3120 then eight months later I had him come and re-bit the job and my neighbors retaining wall - a simple wooden structure and are you ready for this sticker shock. his second quote was $6641. When I asked him why their was such a difference in price and even presented him with the original quote the best answer he could give me was "I don't have the original drawings for the job so I dont know" WTF??? I sent him the original quote for the EXACT SAME JOB!!! there was no change in my requirements, just fix the damm broken retaining wall!!! I persued his lame responses and he gave me more of the same that is lame ass excuses he got caught with his pants down being greedy. When I asked him if he would negotiate the cost he said no. Well Kerri Landsape Fleecing services you can shove your BS excuses and servies where the sun doesn't shine :) I didn't even get to have this loser do work on my property and further more you should get a second opinion before committing to this joker. The two other landscape gardeners I interviewed quoted around $3500 for the same job 8 months later. He also tried to fleece my neighbors by quoting them $6500 for repairing a simple wooden structure retaining wall...WANKER! In an answer to your below comment below Rich; YOU DID NOT COMPLETE OR PRESENT ME WITH A 'SCALE DRAWING" for the first or second time you bid my job!!! So what are you talking about??? As I noted above the scope of my job did NOT change in any way fix a retaining wall!!! Your mark up of jobs between bids was over a 200% mark up, How the hell do you even begin to explain that?! the other bids I received were half of your second bid HALF!!!! A great job by a local, Livermore landscaper! I first want to commend the Kerri team and the work that was done by Silvestre Frayle and his crew. My project began on New Year's Eve day and was completed on Friday, January 11. We did a complete front yard make-over starting with design, complete tear out of the old yard, new paver sidewalk, slate tiled entry way, irrigation system and other hardscape. The finished product was exceptional, and we could not be happier with the results! Silvestre and his crew arrived every day, very early in the morning, and worked through some very cold weather to complete our project. They worked very full days, and were very dependable. Silvestre was very easy to work with, as we made some small adjustments to the plan along the way. They were very accommodating and wanted very much to please us. I gave Rich an open-ended job - I agreed to pay by the hour for as long as it took to get a job done (fixing a masony post by my driveway). He quoted 3 or 4 hours, and finsihed up charging me 3 hours flat. The work looks great, done reasonably quickly (I wasn't in a rush), for the low end of the price range that was quoted, with no payment up front. I couldn't be happier. BTW - for the gent who wasn't happy with the quote he got from Rich - if you don't like the quote, don't hire him. Just because he wanted more for the job than you wanted to pay is hardly a reason to rip him on Yelp. It's not like he quoted one thing then charged antoher, or did inferior work. I called this company up And within a couple days I got a response to set up an appointment to have the owner come out an give me a quote. At the time of the appointment I had some ideas of what I wanted. After talking it over with the owner he decided it would be best to have a detailed drawing that we could make changes to. This was completely un-expected, but I thought if this guy was willing to take the time and do this that hiring him would be worth it, and it was. We made a couple changes to it, and then agreed on a price, which he was more then willing to work with me on. The job took exactly 1 week. The workers showed up every morning promptly at 7. They were very respectful and always could answer my questions about work being done. Their day would end between 3-4 and there was never a mess, they cleaned up all the dirt from the sidewalk and they never left cups or food trash. The final product far exceeded my expectations, it was absolutely perfect. My wife and I were very pleased with this company.
