Even though it was clear he had a very busy schedule, he made a point to visit the site daily and was always available to answer my calls, which I really appreciated. The crew themselves were hard workers and clearly skilled in their trade. That said, with a project of this scale, I found that being a highly involved homeowner was necessary. There were a couple of instances where I had to step in to point out issues that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. Tiles in an outdoor patio is uncommon, so we had a lot of questions from the grading to rebar to water proofing to sealent to grout. FG answered all the questions and accommodated our requests to align with the tile vendor recommendations. Price competitiveness: We spoke with 4 paver companies. 1 didn't want to do Porcelain tiles+ Paver, 1 didn't meet our budget, job was too small for one. Project Management: regular site visits by the site lead. Eduardo is a gem. They helped us pick the right material, picked up the tiles, did the dry layout and kept us updated on the schedule Work site: Saul and his team were punctual, spotless at the end of workday and walked through every step of the process. We've been through the whole process of getting quotes and browsing through Yelp for contractors and I can definitely say that the next time we have a landscaping project come up, we're going straight to Jeff. We received 5 estimates for our backyard - from companies large and small - and Jeff was the only one who actually listened to what we wanted and then gave thoughtful suggestions based on his expertise and actually had a vision for the space. Nearly every other company asked what we wanted but never asked any follow up questions or showed any interest in providing an expert opinion. That would be fine if I was a landscape architect and a botanist but... I'm not!! Jeff is extremely valuable not only for the high quality work that he and his team does, but for the knowledge and expertise that he brings to the table, and the fact that he actually CARES. Early on in the estimate process I mentioned to Jeff that we recently had a baby and that part of my motivation for updating our backyard was to make the space more functional as a fun play space for our son as he grows up. He purposefully laid out the plants and trees so that our son could run through the landscape once it grows in (which is tricky because the hillside is steep), he brought in extra boulders to give him something to climb up on and jump off of, and consciously steered us away from any poisonous or dangerous plants. Easily my best experience with construction projects! I have…read morean old house that has some suboptimal drainage system: some gutter downspouts directly pour onto the ground next to the foundation walls, and some downspouts are connected with an underground pipe system that does not drain very well. Josue and his team provided a very thoughtful plan with every detail in the contract, and swiftly finished the whole project in less than 2 weeks. The whole job includes quite some digging to implement 2 underground water pipe systems that navigate all the way to 30ft away from the house, plus additional gutter downspout installation. Besides, Josue assured 100% customer satisfaction: he is super active during the whole process, almost visiting the site himself everyday, and answered every single of my question( I asked a lot of questions based on my research and he was so patient to take care of them). Moreover, I insisted the plan to be changed in the middle of the work because I discovered other potential concerns with this old house, but Josue did not hesitate to change the plan per my ask and even voluntarily lowered the agreed price due to less work performed in the new plan. The designer incorporated the features we liked rather than pushing a vision on us, the project manager was in constant communication and the labor team were professional and hard workers. They worked within our budget, ran a self-contained job and had almost no impact on our daily lives. They left the place looking wonderful and had a number of nice little touches - moving our birdfeeder, for example, rather than just tearing it down during the construction. My only issue was initial response - I submitted the online form and it took about a week to get a reply, so if you want quick communications I suggest calling them. Over the next month I contacted the company at least 5 times by phone and email. First the wife/secretary was sick, then they were out of town, then "we're working on the May calendar", then another excuse, followed by silence. Since then my son-in-law and I got the ground leveled and prepped and are laying the pavers this weekend. Remember I'm 66 with terminal cancer and already have the pavers AND bullnose. It's NOT THAT HARD. The pergola's going in next week. It's very frustrating to deal with a contractor that has absolutely no communication skills. If you don't want the job, just tell me, don't jack me around for a month. Estimate expired May 14. Such a waste of what little time I have left. Three thumbs WAY down for this bozo.

They also carved out a lovely hillside with custom stairs, a spacious terrace, and game trails perfect for enjoying the view. LEI works with YesPlease.Garden (YPG) who managed the design process and Fresh Coat Restoration who completed the new fence. We are very happy with our project and would recommend LEI because they were professional, courteous, reliable, and provided clear and upfront pricing. Documenting decisions in writing proved helpful for keeping everyone on the same page. Any problems we had were resolved fairly, such as correcting the direction of our stairs. Aaron is a man of his word but prefers to conduct most of his business through texting. We first contacted LEI and they promptly scheduled a time to visit our property with YPG to see what was possible within the budget we set out. We completed the design with YPG and LEI scheduled a time for the project demolition. A later approximate time for planting was set, but that was dependent on the availability of the various plants we had selected. Everything scoped in the design was completed within the budget and any add-ons we later requested were priced separately and fairly.

We were especially impressed by the rock and pebble work, particularly the dry creek and front mow strip. The mix of stone sizes gave everything a natural, detailed, and polished look that really elevated the final result. Aaron also has a strong eye for detail.
