They prepared the tracks so well to make sure the equipment doesn't harm the grass or soil. They cut all the dead branches even the ones that are impossible to reach. The staff is very professional and clean. After they are done they cleaned all the small branches and even the dust that came down. I strongly recommend this company who needs pruning service or any arborists in general. They don't just cut trees but also assess the conditions of the tree. So it is a full service company. I want to share a mixed experience in case it helps others…read more The owner of the company was a total class act. He quoted a fair price, explained the scope clearly, and ultimately honored everything he promised. I have zero issues with him and would work with him again if he personally handles the close-out. Where things went sideways was at the end of the job, when the owner's "brother-in-law" showed up to "wrap things up." And to be clear, I don't think this guy was his brother in law at all. He kept contesting that he was Colombian and his brother was of a different nationality. I really don't care if he's from Greenland and you're from the north pole. Honor the agreement. I had set aside an additional $500 to tip the crew, completely voluntarily. Instead of letting me speak directly to the workers, the brother-in-law positioned himself between us and immediately started pushing for extra payment, claiming the job was "more than what was agreed." At that point, my $500 went back in my pocket. I never not tip and it killed my to not do it here. Either way, what I saw and who I was dealing with as the closers, "the workers" who actually did the work would have never seen a nickel of that $500. This directly contradicted the signed agreement. He began posturing and making comments that were inappropriate and unnecessary on my property. At that point, I stopped engaging and insisted he call the owner. To the owner's credit, once we spoke, he immediately reaffirmed the original deal, including post-job cleanup and removal of stump cuttings. Everything the owner said matched what was originally promised. After that call, the brother-in-law made an unprofessional remark along the lines of "I like how he talks to you," which only reinforced that he was trying to assert himself rather than resolve anything. The job itself was done well. The owner handled it professionally. But the close-out interaction was completely unnecessary and uncomfortable, and it turned what should have been a positive experience into a tense one. He needs to get his brother in law away from any closing. The guy doesn't have this ability. My advice: If you use this company, make sure the owner is the one handling payment, close-out, and any post-job discussions. Do not rely on intermediaries who were not part of the original agreement.

The work started after the weekend on Monday and the 5 man crew was extremely professional. Last fall I had another tree service come to remove a dead tree, sadly they wouldn't budge on helping us out with this last "window-maker" limb. Now that spring is around the corner we found even more of our neighbors trees to be a problem. I had about 6 estimators come to my home but Scott was highly detailed in explaining what the problem, why it's important to my family and how they would address it. Gladly though, the 60 limb wasn't a problem for this crew. The crew worked safely (huge relief) and did a great job cleaning up the yard and even the curb before they left. Downes was able to send someone to assess the situation in a few days (since it wasn't on the house, it wasn't a priority which I understand) and they gave an estimate and then did the job within a week. They actually ended up clearing more than they originally estimated which was good. Their non-emergency service however is severely lacking. I've had multiple (3) "appointments" scheduled to have someone visit my yard and assess the health of two trees to see if they need to come down. I put appointments in quotes because no one has shown up to each one. And each time I call to ask why, they make it seem like I never made the appointment and then they just schedule another one. So while I am thankful for the work they did during an emergency, I am yet to be impressed during normal work hours.
