Had a giant, massive tree removed in front of my property. 1. Little to no communication. Was told I needed to have police come (an extra not cheap cost) at 8 am. So why didn't A & H's team show up until closer to ten? "They're coming, don't worry." Easy for him not to worry; I'm the one paying. When I asked Javier about it, "don't worry, you'll get reimbursed back for the time." -Never happened. Never saw a dime of that back. 2.-A year later, needed to get the remainder of the stump ground down. They wouldn't commit to a day or time, or time frame. Told me they'd give me notice. They texted me an hour before. I wasn't home. Did they grind it? -Hardly. They were there and left within 45 minutes, and lo and behold, the stump was not ground sufficiently. 3. We had to have them come back, further cost, and at no point do they EVER remove the mulch. So this is just cost upon cost. And yet again, no communication. 4. At no point do they communicate clearly. Javier seems bothered, constantly. People are dropping thousands of dollars for services, and he seems annoyed, quite frankly. Would leave messages, for about 2 weeks continuously getting told someone would call back. -I'd wait a few days, no call back. The most frustrating experience. read more

We hired A&H Tree Service based on a neighbor's referral to remove a few branches from a large tree in our yard. They did remove the branches--and maybe one more than expected--but overall, the work itself was fine, and they cleaned up the debris. That said, the customer experience left a lot to be desired. Communication was lacking throughout, except when they repeatedly followed up for the deposit. They didn't tell us in advance that our driveway and front street needed to be clear for their truck, so my partner had to rush home from work to move the car. After the job, no photos were shared, and when I asked about the price and 3% credit card fee, they pointed to the contract. Fair enough--but it would've been helpful if they had mentioned that upfront. I offered to send cash or a check to avoid the surcharge, but they said credit card is now the only accepted method. Between the lack of communication and inflexibility, I wouldn't recommend them based on customer service alone. Hopefully the residue left on our vinyl fence comes off with a hose. read more

TRASH!!!!!!!! Owner came to my house a few months back and gave me a quote for 4 trees at $8000. Couldn't afford it at the time but I called back and asked for one tree to be done and another very nice guy named Peter quoted me $2500. I gave a deposit and they told me they would be here today, that was Wednesday. I JUST now got a phone call from Peter telling me he got in trouble for quoting me a low price for one tree and they told me they wouldn't do it!!!. Again no show and another follow up call to the office to see when the landscaper would come. (landscaper called at end of day only to advise that soonest available schedule for the service would be 2 months out). Spoke to Mary and she apologized on staffs behalf of lack of communication. I took of 2 days from the office to stay home waiting only to find out that landscaper was a no show and services cannot be fulfilled until 2 months out. What a waste of everyone's time... Completely disorganized and unreliable. After inspecting and photographing the tree that fell on my house, the owner failed to send me a quote. When I called their office to confirm the tree removal would take place on the day that was promised, they instead scheduled another one of their "tree experts" to come out to inspect and photograph the fallen tree. I re-contacted them to remind them that had already been done. After a few hours, they found the record of the original inspection but told me it was too late and they needed to reschedule for the following week. I had already told them I'd be out of town that week and that the work needed to be done that day. They clearly do not value their customers or keep their word. I went with another tree service that followed through on its promises and was not so unbelievably dysfunctional. read more

This is the 2nd time I used A and H Tree Service company, and both jobs were acceptable as far as tree removal. The customer service is poor to fair and for that reason I will not use this company or recommend this company for future tree removal jobs. More specifically, I agreed to pay approximately $2700 for a tree removal and I paid $500 upfront to get on the schedule. I was out of town and once the work was done, my wife called me, and I called the company to pay the bill in full. At the same time, once the work was done, one of the workers sat in the middle of the staircase to the entrance of my home and told my wife that he was not leaving until he received payment. My wife had to walk to the far side of the steps in order to enter our home -- the staff member displayed very intimidating behavior towards my wife. Due to miscommunication, the owner charged me the entire bill of $2700, not unknowing that the $500 was paid upfront and they received over $3400. I received 2 calls from the owner apologizing for the billing error and for his staff's poor customer service towards my wife. Nevertheless, all the owner said was "sorry". We were charged an extra $500 and now have to wait for those funds to be refunded back to our credit card, and the owner still has disrespectful staff on his team. Zero Confident in this Company!! No additional tree removal services will be requested at all. read more

Everything was good until the stump grinding. The grinder burnt part of my green giant (which was next to the tree removed) which was unfortunate. Tree removal, customer service was great and I'll give them a 5 star, but the grinding was a 1 star bringing the overall experience to 3 star. Holmes promptly arrived to give a quote, was extremely professional, gave me recommendations, and guided me through the process. He gave a very fair and reasonable price. I was happy to hire A&H after interviewing several vendors, and was not disappointed. Holmes and his team removed a 65' tree in the front yard, ground up the stump, and removed several large tree limbs in the back yard. A crane had to be used for the job, so we had to get a permit and he helped me with that process. On the day of the removal, Holmes let me know when the team would arrive (early) and was there to make sure all went well. The team cleaned up all branches and leaves that had fallen during the process - they even used a leaf blower to clean up after everything was done.
