I want to share a mixed experience in case it helps others. The owner of the company was a total class act. He quoted a fair price, explained the scope clearly, and ultimately honored everything he promised. I have zero issues with him and would work with him again if he personally handles the close-out. Where things went sideways was at the end of the job, when the owner's "brother-in-law" showed up to "wrap things up." And to be clear, I don't think this guy was his brother in law at all. He kept contesting that he was Colombian and his brother was of a different nationality. I really don't care if he's from Greenland and you're from the north pole. Honor the agreement. I had set aside an additional $500 to tip the crew, completely voluntarily. Instead of letting me speak directly to the workers, the brother-in-law positioned himself between us and immediately started pushing for extra payment, claiming the job was "more than what was agreed." At that point, my $500 went back in my pocket. I never not tip and it killed my to not do it here. Either way, what I saw and who I was dealing with as the closers, "the workers" who actually did the work would have never seen a nickel of that $500. This directly contradicted the signed agreement. He began posturing and making comments that were inappropriate and unnecessary on my property. At that point, I stopped engaging and insisted he call the owner. To the owner's credit, once we spoke, he immediately reaffirmed the original deal, including post-job cleanup and removal of stump cuttings. Everything the owner said matched what was originally promised. After that call, the brother-in-law made an unprofessional remark along the lines of "I like how he talks to you," which only reinforced that he was trying to assert himself rather than resolve anything. The job itself was done well. The owner handled it professionally. But the close-out interaction was completely unnecessary and uncomfortable, and it turned what should have been a positive experience into a tense one. He needs to get his brother in law away from any closing. The guy doesn't have this ability. My advice: If you use this company, make sure the owner is the one handling payment, close-out, and any post-job discussions. Do not rely on intermediaries who were not part of the original agreement. read more

5 star great service. I had several dead branches in my oak tree and hired them for pruning the branches. They did an excellent job. Their equipment is high class. They prepared the tracks so well to make sure the equipment doesn't harm the grass or soil. They cut all the dead branches even the ones that are impossible to reach. The staff is very professional and clean. After they are done they cleaned all the small branches and even the dust that came down. I strongly recommend this company who needs pruning service or any arborists in general. They don't just cut trees but also assess the conditions of the tree. So it is a full service company. Great company and staff. read more

PROS: This tree service was stacked with equipment that impressed me when they arrived. They have their own tree crane, chipper with crane, stihl chainsaws, a stump grinder, and a large team of workers. They cut down three medium size trees in a timely matter CONS: They parked their wood chipper in front of our driveway despite having the entire street to put it OVERALL: I would recommend this service, but if you do hire them tell them to not block your driveway read more

Diego gave me a fair quote to remove a dead tree and cut back branches from a large oak tree that were touching our roof. On the scheduled day, he arrived on time with a five-man crew and four trucks: a bucket truck, chipper, stump grinder, and flatbed for the logs. I also asked him to remove a large limb from a maple tree. He charged $250 for the additional work, which I felt was very reasonable. Victor (I believe that was his name) supervised the crew. They were well-coordinated, careful, and efficient throughout the job. When they finished, they raked the yard, removed twigs, and even blew debris off the driveway and the street. I'm no longer worried about the next windstorm, our backyard is noticeably brighter, and it will likely be years before we're dealing with piles of acorns again. I couldn't be happier with both the management and the crew. read more

2nd Time customer. 2 years ago they removed a 70 Ft Oak Tree from my backyard and trimmed the other one. I hated to lose it but it was leaning to much. Quite an operation and they left the space spotless. Their guys are really good. Today I had a much smaller job to trim up a beautiful but way too big magnolia tree that had to be cut back and shaped. They showed up early and took very good care of my magnolia and again spotless. I highly recommend them. read more

Had work done in the morning of 5/25/23. Had a bunch of equipment, crane, chipper, etc. When they were all done, you would never know they were there. Absolutely the best. Best price, quality work and cleanup. Diego and his crew are skilled at what they do. Could not be happier. read more

We have a tree that has grown too close to the house and is doing damage to the roof. We contacted A Cut Above and they came out the next day to give us a quote. The price was good so we agreed to use their services. They said they'd be back in 2 - 3 weeks. They never came and and when I contacted them, they said they'd call back to schedule that day but never called back. I contacted them again 2 days later to ask if they would be able to do the service within the next two days and they just said no. Apparently our job was not big enough for us to be a priority to them. I would not recommend. read more

We had a horrible experience with the company, "A Cut Above Tree Care & Surgery". After a couple of cancellations and a new date/time, they showed up 3 hours late without any notification. After the 3 hour delay, the workers did not know what to do and their supervisor was not on site. We eventually were able get Steven Rodriguez, owner/supervisor on a conference call and he did not remember our work agreement. We were extremely disappointed with their lack of professionalism and insensitivity to our needs. We will never do business with them and will not recommend them as a responsible business. read more

Did a decent job with the branches although they left a massive dead branch on one of the trees. They came when they were supposed to. They did damage to the property and when I called to discuss it with them they just never called back. I made multiple attempts. Customer service has a lot to be desired for. Borderline unprofessional. read more
