We said that it did not, and asked them to redo the seeding. They did. When the grass started to come up, we were horrified to find that there were 2 different colors! I placed 2 or 3 phone calls to the company to say that we were very unhappy. Our calls were not returned. I spent all of last Fall re- raking and dethatching my lawn. It was an enormous amount of work, especially as I have a bad back, and am no longer young. When Spring came around this year again, I had to dethatch my lawn again because so much thatch had been left unraked by the company to begin with. I also had to reseed, to try to get the lawn all one color. We specifically told the company that we needed to have our lawn looking great, so that we might have the option of putting the house on the market within a couple of years. This company was highly recommended, so we are very put out and disappointed. We paid a lot of money for the work, & I ended up having to redo everything myself by hand. I am including pictures of the patchwork looking colors of the lawn, as well as the wheelbarrows full of thatch that I raked and hauled back into my woods. I would definitely not recommend this company.

We wanted to go with trex decking material. They Came up with a fantastic design. They also had to build a retaining wall. So there were multiple steps in this project. They helped getting all of the necessary permits and dealing with the town for all of the problems that came up. Updating 5/12. They finished the landscaping. They did an amazing job. Attaching before the whole project and the after. It was an immense project and there were roadblocks put up by the town but yellow wagon helped navigate all of those every step of the way. After almost one year we finally have our stairs and couldn't be happier.

The spacing makes the entire front yard look unfinished and thrown together. I was told the boxwoods would fill in within a year; it's been two years and they've barely grown. That was either completely unrealistic or just flat-out misleading. The edging and flower bed work is sloppy and uneven. There's no attention to detail, and it shows. Communication was just as bad. Calls were ignored, and when he did respond, it was with "what do you want to talk about?" -- which is not how you speak to a paying customer. At one point, it honestly felt like his own worker knew more than he did and was trying to guide him, but he didn't listen. This wasn't a one-time mistake, it's a pattern of poor workmanship, lack of knowledge, and unprofessional behavior. Save your money and hire someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Communication, affordability, flexibility, efficiency, assiduity - that's the package you get with Cosmo Landscaping. But what you really need to know is I moved into a new house with a disaster of a backyard - it was full of random old bricks, tiny pebbles, and the corpses of about ten -thousand lantern flies. Those little pebbles I mentioned - man - they were everywhere - and were sort of cheap stone you might expect to find at the bottom of a fish thank rather than sprinkled about your yard like a badly decorated cake manufactured by a kindergartner with free reign of the confectionery cupboard. Alas - such was my yard. And I wanted it fixed - bad. I brought in all kinds of troops. Old friends with big debts to pay who I hoped might do me a favor, family with construction business experience, and even a half dozen landscapers and contractors who all promised the world tied up in a pretty pink bow that would fit right in my backyard. But I didn't trust a single one, until Cosmo showed up. The first thing you gotta know is that I'm not easy customer to please. I can do a good bit of construction myself, and like I say, have the soldiers to rely on should I need a hand. But the thing I don't have is time, and so I hate hiring a guy to do a job that I could have done myself (with a little help from my friends) only to find out the job was done half-assedly and worse than I would have done myself. Cosmo came to give me an estimate in the middle of a horrifying blizzard and stood outside with me for ages thinking through exactly how the project should look. I had half a dozen cockamamie ideas that he talked me out of - thank YHWH - and he even used a bunch of old garbage leftover from the previous owners to demonstrate and help me visualize the ideas he had and to talk me out of my own disastrous line of thinking. Well, long story short, we had a lot of back and forth about the price, the objective, how it would look, the features, and he was good enough to trust that I could handle a good portion of the preparatory labor - so he worked with me on that and we got the job rolling and over a period of time we transformed my yard from no-mans-land to a wee urban oasis. They did remove the branches--and maybe one more than expected--but overall, the work itself was fine, and they cleaned up the debris. That said, the customer experience left a lot to be desired. Communication was lacking throughout, except when they repeatedly followed up for the deposit. They didn't tell us in advance that our driveway and front street needed to be clear for their truck, so my partner had to rush home from work to move the car. After the job, no photos were shared, and when I asked about the price and 3% credit card fee, they pointed to the contract. Fair enough--but it would've been helpful if they had mentioned that upfront. I offered to send cash or a check to avoid the surcharge, but they said credit card is now the only accepted method. Between the lack of communication and inflexibility, I wouldn't recommend them based on customer service alone. Hopefully the residue left on our vinyl fence comes off with a hose.

So why didn't A & H's team show up until closer to ten? "They're coming, don't worry." Easy for him not to worry; I'm the one paying. When I asked Javier about it, "don't worry, you'll get reimbursed back for the time." -Never happened. Never saw a dime of that back. 2.-A year later, needed to get the remainder of the stump ground down. They wouldn't commit to a day or time, or time frame. Told me they'd give me notice. They texted me an hour before. I wasn't home. Did they grind it? -Hardly. They were there and left within 45 minutes, and lo and behold, the stump was not ground sufficiently. 3. We had to have them come back, further cost, and at no point do they EVER remove the mulch. So this is just cost upon cost. And yet again, no communication. 4. At no point do they communicate clearly. Javier seems bothered, constantly. People are dropping thousands of dollars for services, and he seems annoyed, quite frankly. Would leave messages, for about 2 weeks continuously getting told someone would call back. -I'd wait a few days, no call back. The most frustrating experience.
