Save yourself and stay away from Todd Nappi and New York Plantings! I hired them in the spring of…read more2025 to repair the irrigation system on my terrace in Brooklyn. Todd suggested that they do plantings for me as well. I agreed and paid him in advance for the work. (I was an idiot.) Since that time our relationship has consisted of long emails from Todd promising to come by ... descriptions of trees and plants he said he would bring ... a few very brief visits by his "team" and copious flowery apologies. No matter what, Todd would not make appointments and he never delivered. My terrace is far from the oasis he promised and I paid for. It is a junkyard of empty planters and dead plants. DO NOT HIRE TODD NAPPI. He will break your heart.

Todd is a chaotic, pathological liar and a mess of a business man. We hired him and his company to…read moreinstall two planting beds in front of our building. Simple. The site required some advance prep work that upon excavation was going to require additional labor and service. After much back and forth we offered to pay the difference. Our agreement - which we prepaid for - was for an initial installation plus plantings for three seasons (summer, fall/winter, spring). He only did the summer planting and refused to honor the maintenance and remainder of the plantings. I would stay clear of this guy. He's unreliable and dishonest. FIVE NEGATIVE STARS!

Last Spring we hired this company to renovate our front lawn. They came & did the work, but we…read morewere not pleased. Our front yard was torn up & not evened out after roto tilling, & there was still a huge amount of thatch left unraked. We called to have them come back. They said it looked good. We said that it did not, and asked them to redo the seeding. They did. When the grass started to come up, we were horrified to find that there were 2 different colors! I placed 2 or 3 phone calls to the company to say that we were very unhappy. Our calls were not returned. I spent all of last Fall re- raking and dethatching my lawn. It was an enormous amount of work, especially as I have a bad back, and am no longer young. When Spring came around this year again, I had to dethatch my lawn again because so much thatch had been left unraked by the company to begin with. I also had to reseed, to try to get the lawn all one color. We specifically told the company that we needed to have our lawn looking great, so that we might have the option of putting the house on the market within a couple of years. This company was highly recommended, so we are very put out and disappointed. We paid a lot of money for the work, & I ended up having to redo everything myself by hand. I am including pictures of the patchwork looking colors of the lawn, as well as the wheelbarrows full of thatch that I raked and hauled back into my woods. I would definitely not recommend this company.
