Today, my very messy backyard was transformed! From early morning to early evening, Hugo and Sammy were delightfully diligent in tearing up weeds (down to the root) trimming hedges, removing rocks, and answering my questions! They were terrific, so I treated them to lunch. When they were done, all was neat and complete! As part of our considerable restorative work regarding our mother's house that had been neglected for several years and thus had fallen into disrepair by 2016, we hired in 2018 a landscaper, J & H Landscaping, to restore the exterior--front yard and back yard, too. For almost two years, this landscaper had beautified (via decorative stones and flowers) and maintained (through use of an installed sprinkler) this exterior. In November 2020, we no longer needed this reliable and excellent landscaper due to this house being finally and successfully sold. I called this company inquiring about a large project. One lady picks up the phone and says hello no identification of a professional company which I expected. I kindly asked if this is j & h and if this is a professional company. I got a extremly rude response. If you don't think we are professionals it's better we don't have your business. When other landscapers didn't return my calls, told me they already had too many clients, didn't work in my neighborhood, or just blew me off because I needed it done within two weeks- she came to our house in-person the very same day to give us an estimate. We negotiated a fair price and work began that Saturday as planned. They stripped away the old spotty grass and weeds, prepped the soil and leveled the ground for about 8hours in the sun. After the sod was ready two days later, they came in, laid it out and consulted with us, even offered to change out pieces we did not like the looks of. By 6pm Monday we had a beautiful grassy yard that our family could play in barefoot just in time for warmer weather and more importantly in time for our kid's Birthday party. Contracted with J&H Landscaping to spruce up our front and back yards. We had a badly overgrown Gold Dust bush, rose bush, and part Forsythia/part Privet hedge that was also overgrown, and where erosion had toppled a couple of the Privets. We also had badly overgrown Rose of Sharon bushes in the back. J&H cut back the overgrown bushes, front & back, and at our request pulled out the forsythia and privet bushes, and replaced them with Encore azaleas that are said to bloom multiple times per year. Everything got done to our satisfaction, and at a reasonable price! Also, they are good people, and are a pleasure to deal with. All in all, we are VERY satisfied, and will NOT hesitate to call them again!!! read more

My back yard was overgrown and very messy. J & H were working across the street at my neighbor's house and I asked them if they could come by to take care of my front and back yards. They called the next day, came by and took pictures and we made a date for the following week. Best thing we ever did. J and H did an amazing job with our backyard which was a total mess before! They took out our old chain link fence, cleaned up, removed and trimmed several large trees and installed a gorgeous new wooden fence for us. Juliet is lovely to work with and was very patient while we figured out what we wanted - she went out of her way to get us the best price on the materials and even worked with our neighbors to make the project happen. Her guys Hugo and Moe worked so hard for about 4 days straight and were lovely as well. While it is true that I did cancel ONE app't, and not several as this Hugo person claims, I had called well in advance as a common courtesy; however, the remainder of his reply is an incoherent and blatant fabrication. Why would I give Julia the courtesy of calling to cancel the first app't only to be so discourteous as not to show up on 7/11? I needed J&H's services, so why would I send her to an imaginary address? Then at the end of Hugo's reply, he said that Julia went to the Yellowstone address and met my brother who didn't know who I was. If Hugo is claiming that I gave her the wrong address, how could she have talked to my brother at the house? How could my own brother not know who I was? It's interesting that 3 days later, after my review appeared, Julia immediately left me a msg with the excuse that she couldn't come on 7/11 because of personal problems. I still have the voicemail. Why would she say she couldn't come if, as Hugo claims, that I had been the one who canceled the app't? We could've avoided all this if she had only shown me the courtesy of calling on 7/11 with her excuse. Thank you for your reply, Hugo (whoever you are), and God bless you. I contacted J & H one day after work around 5:30 pm and Juliet answered and was able to come by to see my yard an hour later. Her quote was very reasonable and she was not a pushy salesperson at all . She was very honest and gave me options instead of pushing unneeded work on me. My backyard was a mess and i was ready to give up and cement it. J & H did a great job for both me and my neighbor and we are both extremely happy with their service. Told me they were doing a job right by my house and how it easy it would be to stop by to give me a quote. Well, even though they were at my neighbors they never came by! I followed with a second call to let them know that anytime, even after hours (7pm) was a good time to take a look around the yard for a rough estimate. Never happened. Now my calls aren't being returned and I'm a pretty good looking guy;) but seriously, nobody is answering the phone, voice mail isnt set up so I cant leave a message... no bueno. Forget this company. Dont sweat. They are not professional in handling their business. First of all, the lady who answered the phone didnt introduce that this is a landscaping co. So you have to wonder. And ask to make sure if this place is legit. Second, didnt write my name down for any type of appointment its verbal so the next time i called she didnt even know that we had an agreement on friday. Third, after the appointment i called again to just sat sorry she couldnt make it and do the job because she's backed up with work and if i could meet up with her in 30 min after the phone call meanwhile this transaction already took a week. Our front and backyard was a total overgrown mess with weeds and bushes. We called on Friday afternoon, they came over to our house on Friday night (which is in an area where they don't even normally work at but came anyway) for a consultation. Then they came over bright and early on Saturday morning and worked and worked. A few hours later and our yard in completely clean. It looks so much bigger now that all those bushes are gone.
