Recently I hired J L Tree Care to remove a 30-foot pine tree from my backyard. From the estimate process to the actual tree removal Juan (owner) and his crew did an excellent job. They arrived at 8 am and began work immediately. I was impressed with the skill of the tree cutter and the use of the Bobcat Track Loader to quickly and efficiently move the cut limbs and trunk pieces from the backyard to the front of the house. They came to remove a tree on my front but broke the side walk. They stated they would have a contracted company come fix it however it has been 4 months and no one has come. We have a 40+ feet big tree that's dead and leaning over the fence in our backyard facing my neighbor's house. We did some research online trying to get quotes, and Martha from JC Tree company is the first one who reached out. She was very nice and scheduled a visit immediately the day of. She came by, took a good look at the tree, and explained in detail what her team would do, the job would take about 2 hours, and she wrote me a quote on paper. 1 day later, Martha called to follow up, and said her team can swing by to do the job the next day, and since her price is the best out of the 4 companies that contacted me, I went with Martha's company. They came by at 4pm on a Friday, in a team of 7 people, with a big truck to dispose of the trunks. They did a really great job to coordinate, and they were very careful with handling wires and cable lines at my neighbor's house so nothing is impacted when they cut the tree and trunks landed on my neighbor's backyard. After the removal is done, they reattached all my lines outside of my neighbor's house, and cleaned up both my and my neighbor's backyards. I highly recommend this company~ read more

I called around close to 8 different tree service companies to cut down a couple of huge trees . Of the 8 companies I called , Jc tree gave me the best price for the job (trees cutting + stump grinding ) . In additional to offering me a reasonable quote , they also have a quick response time . A lot of the places i called neither calls me back or calls me back a day later for a quote. On the day of the service , they were a few hours late , so I had to call them a few times to ensure they will be coming . 2 hours later , they finally came with a crew of around 6-7 people. The crew spoke Spanish so I had difficult time communicating with them , I had to call the manager to translate certain questions I had with the crew ... Because the project started late , I was concerned it will become a 2 day job instead of one. As the day moves on, I was told a supervisor will come later to answer any questions I had , but he never showed up ... though another crew of 5-6 people came around 3 pm which helped expedite the whole project ! The project was completed after 8 hours and they did a very good job overall! It just so happens that he came out the same day we called and was able to handle the tree trimming job later that afternoon! In the end he didn't just do our trees but that of two other neighbors on the block the same day! You really will be pleased with their services. Approximately two weeks ago I contracted with JC Tree Care to remove a tree in my backyard and prune the others. I dealt with several companies to get an estimate and by far they were the most responsive. It just so happens they also had the most reasonable price. My primary point of contact was Martha who stayed in regular contact. To my surprise she offered to come out on a Sunday in which to look over the job and provide an estimate. It was part of her process of setting up the week's work schedule for the crew. That Saturday her crew were sitting outside my home in advance of the start time of 8am. By 9am the job was complete and they did an excellent job cleaning up. Martha was right there providing keen instructions. First off, this company gave us the lowest estimate. We had been trying to cut down numerous tree branches from neighboring properties as well as remove dead trees in our own yard, but could never get a reasonable quote. We were VERY impressed with JC. They arrived on time, all in uniform, with their heavy-duty equipment ready to go. They had 8-10 men show up. These guys even climbed up to the top of some of the neighboring trees to get the job done, wearing harnesses of course. On February 12, 2022, I had an appointment with JC Tree Care to trim one tree and cut down two trees. I advised Juan Carlos, the owner of the company, to start with the tree in the front of the house until my arrival which would have allowed him entry to the backyard. Please note that my back yard is completely fenced-in and is secured with a Master's Lock. There is no entry without unlocking the lock with a key. Also note that I forwarded Juan Carlos many updates (text messages) to let him know that I was running late due to transportation issues, but that I was on definitely on my way. I even informed him that it might be best to proceed to another job, as we can reschedule another time to complete my work. At some point, Juan Carlos stop responding to my text messages. Upon arriving at my home, I saw that my fence had been dismantled and the metal links were broken and destroyed as JC Tree Care NY's workers were physically in my backyard. Not only had they dismantled my fence, but had cut down the wrong tree. It is important to note that I have pictures, video and a witness to verify my complaint. When questioned, JC and indicated that he destroyed my fence to gain access to my backyard because "you were running late." This was completely unacceptable. Juan Carlos was not only unprofessional and rude, he took no responsibility for his actions, and blamed the homeowner for his unlawful and unacceptable behavior. Please note that I will be filing a civil complaint against JC Tree Care NY for trespassing and the destruction of personal property. He refused to take responsibility for his actions, and instead indicated "we did the job the same way any other tree company." I do not know of any tree company in America that would trespass, dismantle and destroy a customer's personal property to gain unlawful access. This matter has been escalated and I am seeking a resolution from Angi's List and other agencies. Lastly, his subpar work of trying to put my fence back together is not an acceptable resolution to his unlawful behavior. read more

JC Tree Care impressed me when they came to my property to offer an estimate. Everything was wonderful until I walked the property (alone) after they left. The tree removal went smoothly. The spot in the yard where the tree once stood is as nice as can be expected. However, when bringing the stump grinder into the yard the team damaged new masonry that borders our AC unit. No one told me. No one apologized. When I text photos to the person I worked with, I acknowledged that I understand that accidents happen, but that someone should have told me. I received no response. He did, however, send a different person to my home to collect payment about an hour later. When I asked this person about the damage to the brick work, he said 'All I can say is sorry. They didn't tell us either.' He did not offer to fix the problem until after I mentioned placing an unsatisfactory review on HomeAdvisor. All in all I would say, if you're in a wide open space JC Tree Care is probably a fine choice, but make sure you walk your property before the team leaves. EDIT: My husband found a container that we had a cactus plant in emptied and tossed in the corner of our yard. Seems like they knocked it off our deck and said nothing about that either. read more
