Plenty of them either took long to respond or came back with high estimates. Some companies didn't even respond at all. Joe and his team responded quickly and gave a really reasonable price. In addition to that, they were able to schedule the job the same day because they were in the area and got there within 2 hours. The crew of about 6 men chopped and removed the tree within 1.5 hours and cleaned up the area. By noon, everything was already done and gone. The stump remained but was treated for easy future removal. I was super impressed because I considered it a really big tree for Brooklyn standards, but they made it look so easy. Phenomenal job! We paid them $7,000 -- a wildly overpriced amount -- but because they did a good job for us in 2022, we trusted them again. That trust was a huge mistake. It is now three months later and my yard is still in complete despair. The owner, Joe, specifically agreed to also remove the stump, and yet it still sits rotting in my backyard. Because of this, weeds have overtaken the space and my family hasn't been able to enjoy our backyard the entire summer. I have called, texted, and left voicemails multiple times. Joe occasionally responds just enough to string me along, then disappears to chase new projects and new customers' money, while completely ignoring the work I already paid him for. His behavior is unprofessional, dishonest, and absolutely disgraceful. At this point, I've contacted officials, and my attorney will be handling this matter moving forward. We agreed as a favor to be nice and they also said they would leave us some left over wood. We removed our cars and they were parked there using our driveway and worked throughout the morning and afternoon. While they were here they broke some of the concrete on our driveway, broke retaining wood from the garden area and left one of our collection of bricks in a messy pile. We have tried to call multiple times and contact the company and they hung up on us and will not pick up anymore. I do not recommend anyone work with a company that is so careless and doesn't take responsibility for their actions. The worst part is this tree removal service had nothing to do with us, we were just being helpful to allow them to use our backyard and driveway. And this was the result.

This year the SLFs won! My yard was covered in honey dew. Deck plants etc and it seemed to be killing my neighbors trees with the heavy dew on the leaves. Arborpolitan used an insecticide and a few days later they started to all fall off the tree. I pick them up and toss them daily to keep the bees or any other insects from investing any possible insecticide. Arborpolitan also gave us an estimate to trim the tree this winter. They were a little more expensive than other quotes I got but they are a smaller company in Brooklyn so I decided to give them the project.

It's definitely listed on there but if you come to my house now, you can see that the branches are still too close to the building. What a joke that I ended up paying over $2000 to then find out that they could not cut anything beyond a 2" branch when he originally said 4". My neighbors were laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. They trimmed for 5 hours and left a mess behind in front of my home. Learn from my mistake and book elsewhere. I gave 5 stars because it's a small business at the end of the day and I hope they can pivot and serve the tree and homeowner better.
