Owner responds very quickly. Came out same day I requested a quote. Cut 5 trees with crew. Two trees were pretty large. Crew cleaned up well after job was completed. Reasonable pricing. Highly recommend. read more

Elmer from Express Tree Services called me less than an hour after I posted the request on Yelp, came by this morning to give me an estimate, matched a price I'd gotten from a couple of other businesses based on photos I'd sent and did the job today. Amazing cleanup. Other than the hole where the tree used to be (and a broken gate), you could not tell that anything had happened. Photos below show the way things looked before any work was done, how things stood after a friend took all the limbs off the tree and how things look now. Highly recommended. read more

Less than an hour after I requested a quote, Elmer was at my house. Two days later, the tree was gone. The job was not easy, it was a very tight space. He was fast, clean, courteous and very fairly priced. I would definitely use him again without a second thought! read more

I was extremely happy with Express Tree Services today. In fact, I highly recommend them if you have trees to be cut, pruned, etc.. I had three trees that needed to be prune. One of them were over a bunch of telephones wires. In addition, the yard was full of weed. Elmer and his crew came 20 minutes early today. I was already impressed. They wasted no time in getting to work. Elmer promised he would be done in two and half hours, and he was done by that time. Elmer and his men are fast and efficient. In addition they were friendly and professional. When the job was concluded, the 3 trees were pruned and did not reach the phone lines. The yard was clean because the weeds were removed. Again, I was very happy with Express Tree Services, thanks to Elmer and his crew. read more

Absolutely thrilled with the quality of service Elmer provided. Responsive to all communication, polite and professional. Elmer arrived at time agreed upon, efficiently pruned my very large oak tree, removed all pruned branches, and was very mindful of where the removed branches were placed. The cleanup by his team was fantastic. The cost was very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Express Tree Services. read more

Cannot say enough good things!! Elmer and his team were absolutely wonderful. We called them because we needed to remove a tree ASAP for construction. The previous place we called never showed up so I was happy with the responsiveness of Express. They called us immediately and came same day. Due to impending rain he also did the job earlier then expected so we could quickly move forward with our renovation. Elmer and team successfully cut down our tree and grinder the stump in a few short hours and at a low cost. We highly recommend!!! read more

Elmer and his crew did a great job cutting back bushes and trees that were overgrown in my backyard. They were quick and professional at a reasonable price. I received other quotes that were both lower and higher but Express Tree Services had all good reviews so that was the deciding factor. I plan to have Elmer come back later this fall for another project! Thank you so much! LeeAnn read more

I had several trees that badly needed to be pruned. I used Yelps referral service which sent my job to 4 professionals. Elmer was the 2nd to respond and we did a walkthrough of my yard. He detailed and wrote up all of my concerns. His crew came promptly the next day. Unlike many companies, Elmer was on site to ensure the work was completed to my satisfaction. They were respectful of my property as well as my neighbors. The work was thorough and he remembered everything I'd said from the day before. They cleared and cleaned up my yard after everything was done. They did a wonderful job at a fair price. I would not hesitate to use them again for tree pruning! read more

I recently hired Expert Tree Removal for a huge 50 foot copper beech tree, and they did great! The entire operation was quick and painless, thanks to their efficient crew. They expertly handled the entire project: they secured safety of nearby cars & surrounding area. They roped and cut all pieces; they wood-chipped lower branches, had larger branches/trunk carted away; and stump-ground the remains, leaving us enough mulch for all our gardens! The team's speed and professionalism were impressive. From start to finish, they maintained a high level of expertise, making the entire process seamless. I HIGHLY recommend Elmer & skilled group for their exceptional service. read more

Elmer's team was supposed to take down two small trunk trees and one medium trunk very tall tree for about $1800 The crew arrived on time. They took down the tree in about an hour. No problem till Elmer says do you want me to take down the neighbors branch hanging over my fence. Extra fees were too high he brought it down and cut it. Still looking for more money I asked him to take out the roots from two shrubs small ones the machine was on the property he said he did it but after cutting my grass recently I see he cut the tops and lied. Took the extra $50 for what I was doing anyway. Yelp should reimburse me. I'm really upset to see roots that I can't pull up because of my arthritis. He is friendly person but beware of asking for more things to do. If he wants the nicer review I first gave send a check from yelp saying you're sorry.this is an updated from end of May review didn't realize he fooled me in getting the extra cash read more

Although this job started well, I was not pleased with the way it ended. Express Tree Services was referred to us for tree removal in our yard. We had 2 trees on our property that needed to be removed and a neighbor's tree that was threatening our house. Elmer was responsive, met with my wife, and provided an estimate to remove 2 trees on my property and trim some other. He also provided an estimate to remove my neighbor's rotted tree. After reviewing the estimate, we coordinated with my neighbor and decided to go with Elmer and his team. I referred Elmer to my neighbor so they could work together, and he received additional work on my neighbor's property. After completing the work on the adjacent property, Elmer began removing trees on ours. During the job, there was a discussion with my wife about a branch that was over the fence line but not in the initial estimate. Therefore, it would cost us $300 more to remove it. At 12pm - Elmer asked my wife to order pizza for the crew. Although she thought he wanted the phone number to order for them, he said ,"yea if you can place the order/pay since it is only 2 pies." I thought that was very inappropriate and rude to ask my wife to buy his crew lunch without us offering to do so. I returned home from work and began inspecting the property. I noticed the crew was dragging the tree branches along my siding and fence post. They dented my gutter as well. They did clean the siding and apologize for the gutter damage, but I shouldn't have needed to address it. I also had to reset a couple of my fence caps as they were not reinstalled correctly. At the conclusion of the job, I questioned Elmer about the additional $300. The extra branch removal was almost half the cost of a full tree with stump removal. He replied by saying, "Fine, you don't want to pay me, don't pay me. I will dump the truck right here in your driveway." I showed him the money in my hand and made it clear that I was not refusing payment. He started rambling about the fence line and what was discussed. I also reminded him that I referred him to my neighbor and a conversation was a fair request. I agreed to meet half way, and he declined. We eventually settled on $200 for that branch due to the threat of him dropping everything back on my property. Overall, they did a nice job of cleaning up the property, and they do good work. However, I was not impressed by the customer service and the conclusion of the job. read more

Elmer came with his crew and cut down a large tree from my front yard back in December. After he left I noticed the stump was left way too high. He had quoted me a price for cutting down the tree, removing it, and grinding the stump. But the stump was not grinded nearly enough. So I asked him to come back and grind it more. He replied that he would but then never came. And never replied back to me with repeated requests. It became clear to me that he just didn't care to come back and complete the Job. I do not recommend using this company read more

Express Tree Service contacted me back the quickest and was able to schedule an estimate the next day. A man named Elmer dropped by and gave a fair price for the job so I accepted. The day of the job I asked for some additional work and the price was raised fairly. The men did a great job and cleaned up nicely . I had a 60 foot tree pruned that also was also reaching over a fence to my neighbors house. Also had some high hedges trimmed. I was very pleased by their work and would recommend them. read more

from the moment I contacted Elmer him and his office were great. At first, Elmer gave me a very competitive quote. Then, the service Ashley at the office made sure all the paperwork was submitted to get the permit (and the town I live in is a mess-but she kept sending again and again With so Much patience!) . once I got the permit, and had PSEG cut some of the trees down, Elmer came with One day notice. His crew was amazing-they finished the job and workEd so hard and cleaned up all the mess of three huge trees in ONE DAY! My husband and I were amazed! I highly recommend Elmer and will definitely give his contact to anyone who needs tree cutting! thanks so much! read more

I had a tree covered in vines to the point that it died. A large portion blew over into my yard in a recent storm. I reached out to Express Tree Service via the internet on Wednesday. Almost immediately, I was being contacted by them. We set an appointment for someone (Elmer) to look at the job and give an estimate the next morning. He showed up as scheduled and gave a competitive price. I hired him to come by on Saturday. His crew showed up as scheduled. The tree was removed, stump grinded and adjacent tree trimmed in about 2 hours. They cleaned up and left then yard beautiful. I could not ask anything more from a contractor. You will be doing yourself a favot if you hire him read more

Can't recommend them enough. I received estimates from four different places for the removal of a 60' tree but I went with this company because of Elmer. He was the consummate professional; great communication, very dependable, punctual and knew exact what to do. It seemed like a complicated job as the tree was overhanging above the garage and there were at least half a dozen cables and wires going right through the center of the tree. Nevertheless, it was amazing to watch the whole tree just disappear in matter of hours. Again, I can't recommend these guys enough. This was done in Bayside btw. read more

Contacted company through Yelp and owner replied quickly - agreed to come over in a few days to assess and give price - arrived on time and I liked his confidence- we needed to remove four 60-80 foot trees growing close to house deck and fence - owner assured us could be done with no damage at very fair price - arrived a few days later as scheduled on time and crew removed trees and cleaned up with no problems at all or any damage at all - great to do business with a company like this - would definitely hire again - my neighbor was so impressed she hired them on the spot to prune her large maple tree read more

I received a few quotes for getting a couple of fairly large trees trimmed in my back yard, and Express Tree Services provided one of the more competitive bids. But the main reason I chose to work with them was because the guy who came to give me the quote was professional, personable, and seemed trustworthy, and they were very responsive when I had followed up with them afterwards. They showed up on time the day of the work, and when all was said and done, they did what we had agreed to, and they cleaned up everything nicely. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for tree cutting service. read more
