Amazing cleanup. Other than the hole where the tree used to be (and a broken gate), you could not tell that anything had happened. I was extremely happy with Express Tree Services today. In fact, I highly recommend them if you have trees to be cut, pruned, etc.. I had three trees that needed to be prune. One of them were over a bunch of telephones wires. In addition, the yard was full of weed. Elmer and his crew came 20 minutes early today. I was already impressed. They wasted no time in getting to work. Elmer promised he would be done in two and half hours, and he was done by that time. Elmer and his men are fast and efficient. Elmer's team was supposed to take down two small trunk trees and one medium trunk very tall tree for about $1800 The crew arrived on time. They took down the tree in about an hour. No problem till Elmer says do you want me to take down the neighbors branch hanging over my fence. Extra fees were too high he brought it down and cut it. Still looking for more money I asked him to take out the roots from two shrubs small ones the machine was on the property he said he did it but after cutting my grass recently I see he cut the tops and lied. Took the extra $50 for what I was doing anyway. Yelp should reimburse me. I'm really upset to see roots that I can't pull up because of my arthritis. He is friendly person but beware of asking for more things to do. Elmer came with his crew and cut down a large tree from my front yard back in December. After he left I noticed the stump was left way too high. He had quoted me a price for cutting down the tree, removing it, and grinding the stump. But the stump was not grinded nearly enough. So I asked him to come back and grind it more. He replied that he would but then never came. And never replied back to me with repeated requests. It became clear to me that he just didn't care to come back and complete the Job. Although this job started well, I was not pleased with the way it ended. Express Tree Services was referred to us for tree removal in our yard. We had 2 trees on our property that needed to be removed and a neighbor's tree that was threatening our house. Elmer was responsive, met with my wife, and provided an estimate to remove 2 trees on my property and trim some other. He also provided an estimate to remove my neighbor's rotted tree. After reviewing the estimate, we coordinated with my neighbor and decided to go with Elmer and his team. I referred Elmer to my neighbor so they could work together, and he received additional work on my neighbor's property. After completing the work on the adjacent property, Elmer began removing trees on ours. During the job, there was a discussion with my wife about a branch that was over the fence line but not in the initial estimate. Therefore, it would cost us $300 more to remove it. At 12pm - Elmer asked my wife to order pizza for the crew. Although she thought he wanted the phone number to order for them, he said ,"yea if you can place the order/pay since it is only 2 pies." I thought that was very inappropriate and rude to ask my wife to buy his crew lunch without us offering to do so. I returned home from work and began inspecting the property. I noticed the crew was dragging the tree branches along my siding and fence post. They dented my gutter as well. They did clean the siding and apologize for the gutter damage, but I shouldn't have needed to address it. I also had to reset a couple of my fence caps as they were not reinstalled correctly. At the conclusion of the job, I questioned Elmer about the additional $300. The extra branch removal was almost half the cost of a full tree with stump removal. He replied by saying, "Fine, you don't want to pay me, don't pay me. I will dump the truck right here in your driveway." I showed him the money in my hand and made it clear that I was not refusing payment. He started rambling about the fence line and what was discussed. I also reminded him that I referred him to my neighbor and a conversation was a fair request. I agreed to meet half way, and he declined. We eventually settled on $200 for that branch due to the threat of him dropping everything back on my property. Overall, they did a nice job of cleaning up the property, and they do good work. However, I was not impressed by the customer service and the conclusion of the job. read more

The day of the job I asked for some additional work and the price was raised fairly. The men did a great job and cleaned up nicely . Can't recommend them enough. I received estimates from four different places for the removal of a 60' tree but I went with this company because of Elmer. He was the consummate professional; great communication, very dependable, punctual and knew exact what to do. It seemed like a complicated job as the tree was overhanging above the garage and there were at least half a dozen cables and wires going right through the center of the tree.
