I reach out to Chris and his company based off a referral and was really pleased with the quote he gave me for a large tree I needed trimmed in my yard. I was able to have the work scheduled to be done within a few days. Chris' team was prompt and quickly trimmed and took down the problem branches with minimal effort. My yard looks 1000x better than before. I would highly recommend and will definitely reach out to Chris again in the future. read more

Chris and his guys are THE best option if you need tree removal services. Not only was their price well below their competitors, they did the job quick, didn't damage our house (they had to carry the parts of the tree through our house), and cleaned up after themselves. They also worked quick: they removed a large damaged pine tree from our backyard in less than 4 hours. Highly, highly recommended! read more

We had four evergreen trees (ranging from 50' - 30') in our small backyard in Hoboken that were uprooted following a severe storm on Christmas Eve. We called Skyline on Christmas Day and they came by for an estimate visit on the next day. Scheduled an appointment for tree removal on Monday morning and they completed the entire removal and cleanup job by mid-afternoon. Hardworking, efficient, and affordable service. After calling a few other places, they were definitely on the lower end in terms of costs but they still provide great service. read more

Chris and his team removed 2 40+ foot maple trees from our backyard in record time. They're very professional, safe and efficient. We're still amazed how they were able to scale the trees and cut down the limbs without even damaging or touching the fence below! Amazing job!! read more

Long time overdue review...and kudos to Chris and his crew. This past early Fall, he removed 5 trees from my backyard for a very reasonable price. Really impressive quality of work, from the first contact, the fluent communication and diligence, his polite demeanor and overall, his impeccable work ethics. Fast, reliable and super clean. As a first time homeowner i already had my share of bad experiences with contractors and services, I wish everybody were as trustworthy and professional as Skyline. Thanks a bunch! read more

Competent, quick and pleasant service. Thank you. Reached out Saturday, got a visit and quote Sunday and job was well done by Tuesday. Would highly recommend! read more

I contacted Chris to trim some trees at my mom's house in JC, he was very quick getting back to me, when he looked at the 2 jobs he gave me a great price, I live in Essex county and compared to the tree services there, he was more than fair with the pricing. On the day of the service, he outlined what he was going to do, I was very impressed by his work, he cut all of the tree line as discussed as well as cleaned up all the debris. I've already scheduled him for a 2nd job, he's very professional and fair with pricing ,awsome company read more

Called Chris this past Monday July 24, 2017 searching for quotes to have my tree remove that had uprooted from the ground after the rain we had gotten. I explained to him my situation that my tree had fallen off and parts off it went into my neighbor's yard....He went the same day that afternoon to my house and right there he estimated the cost that I couldn't refused. He explained to me that the lower stump he could not take where the roots are because you need a special equipment...and that he could start the job...He finished the job earlier this afternoon since he had other job to do yesterday...Chris will not receive payment until the job is complete.... I am completely beyond satisfied....and I highly recommend Chris... Thank you so much...Chris...at least I don't have to be looking at that tree anymore laying across my yard and into my neighbor's... Don't mind the fence that's the only damage the tree made and my fiance clean it up after Chris left. read more

Really appreciated what Chris did for us. Great job all around. We had a large Oak tree that needed some significant trimming. Chris and his team gave us the cheapest quote and did an admirable job. I love that he does all the work himself, yes he's the one who gets up there, not someone he hires. He cuts out the middle man and has a true love for this kind of work. I suspect that once Chris got up there he realized he probably under quoted me as it was a lot more complicated than he imagined. But he did a phenomenal job, professional the entire way, and left the area in better condition than when arrived. We will need trimmings in the future and we will only use Chris for that work. read more

Like other reviewers, I also had the unfortunate experience of waiting around for Chris on two occasions when he said he would show up to provide an estimate and didn't do so, nor did he have the courtesy to let me know that he would not be able to make it and would need to reschedule. I would steer clear of this company as they don't seem to respect their potential customer's time or are too busy and don't need the additional business. read more

We had an agreement for a tree trimming. the day came, i made arrangements at work, and this tree company didn't show up. I texted the owner who told me he was waiting for his men. I told him I would be at the house all day, and i never recieved a response via text or phone call. Had the gentleman told me they needed to reschedule I would have been more understanding, but no communication at all is extremely unprofessional. He is a nice guy but communication would have been appreciated. read more

Chris and Skyline were excellent and easy to work with. We had a couple of small trees in a problematic roof planter and they were able to remove the whole thing and properly dispose of it. Thanks again! read more

Skyline came out and quickly dealt with our job in Weehawken. They quoted a fair price accurately, did the job quickly the next day and were very polite and professional. Recommended! read more

Chris and his team removed one tree and significantly pared back another huge problem tree in my yard. I couldn't be happier with Chris and the way he runs his business. Before I hired him, he very patiently fielded my MANY questions about insurance and liability, and satisfied my every worry (and I went as far as taking him up on his offer to speak to his insurance broker and the underwriting company). He showed up exactly on time for both the estimate meeting and the actual job. He explained exactly what needed to be done and why, and then did exactly what was planned, and finished in one day. He and his team removed every piece of debris and swept up where necessary. And he was diligent with making sure he was wearing his mask whenever I came outside to talk. I highly recommend this business! read more

We hired Skyline Tree Services to trim one large tree and take down another small tree in our building's back yard. On the large tree, they sloppily cut away at the problematic section and left it looking undone. They also left branches in our yard instead of taking all debris with them, as was their job. On the smaller tree, they took the trunk and left all of the branches. We now have to hire somebody else to take the rest of the debris. Worst of all - the man who was running this job, who I assume is Chris since his name is listed on our quote - was rude, unprofessional, and dishonest. He claimed terms that were not included on the contract and had every excuse in the book as to why he did a bad job. We suspect he just unquoted the project and when it took more time than expect, he decided to take the unprofessional way out by not fulfilling his end of the deal. read more

Chris did not show up and did not return my texts asking if he wanted to reschedule. I am disappointed because his work is good.

Great job! Very professional and was able to get an estimate the same day and the trees trimmed the same week. Highly recommend and will definitely use his services again. read more

Hired Skyline and Chris to remove a tree from my back yard. We live in Jersey City and our back yard is only 20 feet square with other people's houses and yards on all sides. Chris and his partner expertly trimmed the branches from the tree, taking care to avoid dropping anything into the neighbor's property, before cutting down the main trunk. They removed everything in small sections through the house and cleaned up after they were done. Really professional job done quickly and for the quoted price. read more

I highly recommend Skyline Tree Service! Chris gave me an estimate on a big maple tree I wanted trimmed in my backyard. I could tell he was knowledgeable and his price was reasonable so I decided to book with him. The next day, him and his crew trimmed the tree back and also took out another smaller tree. They cleaned everything up and our backyard looks great. I would definitely use his services again. read more

Chris and his crew took care if a tree that was dropping limbs in my neighbor's yard. What looked like a a daunting task Chris was able to make quick work of and give the confidence that the jobb was done safely and properly. He also helped identify some other problem areas that I will need to address in my yard. I wont hesitate to bring Chris back out in the future and recommend him highly for anyone needing tree service in my area read more

I definitely recommend this company!! Chris came out in a timely fashion and provided a free and very fair estimate. The work was completed by the very next day! Chris is very knowledgeable and professional. The work is exceptional. We will be sure to have this company take care of the trees on our property from now on! read more

Chris was supposed to show up for an estimate. I left work early to meet him, and he never showed up. He never called to let me know he was not going to make it, and just kept me wait without any consideration. Later in the evening, (5 hours later) he sent me a message saying he had an emergency and wanted to reschedule for the next day. I understood and was still willing to see him, since it was an emergency. The next day he did the same thing again. No call, no response to my attempts to reach him, no anwer. These guys are inconsiderate of your time and don't care what your issues are. Don't bother with them. It doesn't cost you anything to say I cannot make it, but it costs your client time and money to keep them waiting there. Why is that so difficult to understand?? read more

Hired Chris to deal with a dying tree in a samll yard. His demeanor is chill but his work is very skillful and he's completely professional (arrived on time, finished on time, at the price quoted). I'd recommend Skyline to anyone. read more

Needed to remove a rotting tree and some branches from an overgrown maple tree. Chris gave an affordable quote came in the next day and in a few hours completed the job. Chris first came to my home, walked around my yard, and gave an honest and affordable quote. He returned a few days later and completed everything that needed to be done at the agreed upon price. We had a tree fall in our backyard during the last snow storm in Hoboken. It was a tricky job because the tree was resting against the neighboring building and our fence. Skyline did a great job of removing the tree at a fair price and in a responsive manner. read more

Very professional and quick. Immediately called me back to schedule a quote meeting and completed the job the next day. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Chris. First and foremost, he was punctual arriving when scheduled both when providing an estimate and the day of the job which is a big plus for me. Chris was knowledgeable, professional and took pride in his profession. I had been having issues with a neighbor's large tree dropping cherries and damaging my deck and blue stone patio. Chris was able to come and expertly trim the tree in a manner that not one more cherry should drop on my property for years to come. He and his crew were efficient, careful and made sure to clean up after finishing the job. Good guy overall. read more

I highly recommend Chris! He did a great job at a very reasonable rate. He was on time both when he came out to give an estimate and when he actually completed the job. Super efficient -- worked quickly while still paying attention to detail. I have one of those places where the only access to the backyard is through the unit and he and his team were very carefully when carrying debris out so as not to make a mess. In addition, he was very honest in assessing the trees in our backyard. I had a very invasive ivy growing in the backyard that he was able to completely clear out, as well as a small tree to needed to be cut down. He even spotted some poison ivy growing in the back and was kind enough to remove it. He really knows his stuff! Highly recommend! read more

We started calling Chris the Tree Whisperer after he came out to inspect a tree in the yard of our condo association that was suffering from having a vine wrapped around it. Some in the building wanted the entire tree removed, while others of us wanted to try to save it. Chris was the ONLY tree service person who came up with a plan on how to proceed in trimming the tree and removing the vine with the goal of keeping the tree alive. His genuine care for nature is so apparent in the way he works. He explained how the vine was strangling the tree and how several poorly made past cuts were harming the tree. He then gave us an incredibly reasonable quote (in the hundreds vs. thousands as others had) and was out to do the work just a couple of days later. While here, Chris also took the time to explain to our neighbors about the tree and his plan to save it, which was super helpful in alleviating their concerns. The work was thorough and clean and we are so pleased! I waited about a month to post this to be able to report on how the tree is doing and it's exciting to say that it is now thriving! It will clearly take a couple of seasons to fully recover, but we are so grateful for Chris' work in saving this huge, beautiful part of our property. Don't let anyone else touch your trees! Call Chris! read more

Chris and his team did an amazing job taking down a very large, 70 feet tall Ailanthus tree in our backyard. They took special care in protecting the surrounding fencing, the pond and detailed work around our patio. They also had to cut up the timber into smaller pieces to be carry out through the building and out onto their truck. It was not an easy task but Chris and his crew were highly skilled and did a fantastic job! I was truly impressed by their professionalism and proficiency. Highly recommended! read more

I just called him for a 3rd site and he helped me determine that it was the city's tree--saving money. What an honest guy! Thank you. read more
