We had four evergreen trees (ranging from 50' - 30') in our small backyard in Hoboken that were uprooted following a severe storm on Christmas Eve. We called Skyline on Christmas Day and they came by for an estimate visit on the next day. Called Chris this past Monday July 24, 2017 searching for quotes to have my tree remove that had uprooted from the ground after the rain we had gotten. I explained to him my situation that my tree had fallen off and parts off it went into my neighbor's yard....He went the same day that afternoon to my house and right there he estimated the cost that I couldn't refused. He explained to me that the lower stump he could not take where the roots are because you need a special equipment...and that he could start the job...He finished the job earlier this afternoon since he had other job to do yesterday...Chris will not receive payment until the job is complete.... I am completely beyond satisfied....and I highly recommend Chris... Thank you so much...Chris...at least I don't have to be looking at that tree anymore laying across my yard and into my neighbor's... Really appreciated what Chris did for us. Great job all around. We had a large Oak tree that needed some significant trimming. Chris and his team gave us the cheapest quote and did an admirable job. I love that he does all the work himself, yes he's the one who gets up there, not someone he hires. He cuts out the middle man and has a true love for this kind of work. I suspect that once Chris got up there he realized he probably under quoted me as it was a lot more complicated than he imagined. But he did a phenomenal job, professional the entire way, and left the area in better condition than when arrived. We had an agreement for a tree trimming. the day came, i made arrangements at work, and this tree company didn't show up. I texted the owner who told me he was waiting for his men. I told him I would be at the house all day, and i never recieved a response via text or phone call. Had the gentleman told me they needed to reschedule I would have been more understanding, but no communication at all is extremely unprofessional. Before I hired him, he very patiently fielded my MANY questions about insurance and liability, and satisfied my every worry (and I went as far as taking him up on his offer to speak to his insurance broker and the underwriting company). We hired Skyline Tree Services to trim one large tree and take down another small tree in our building's back yard. On the large tree, they sloppily cut away at the problematic section and left it looking undone. They also left branches in our yard instead of taking all debris with them, as was their job. On the smaller tree, they took the trunk and left all of the branches. We now have to hire somebody else to take the rest of the debris. Worst of all - the man who was running this job, who I assume is Chris since his name is listed on our quote - was rude, unprofessional, and dishonest. He claimed terms that were not included on the contract and had every excuse in the book as to why he did a bad job. We suspect he just unquoted the project and when it took more time than expect, he decided to take the unprofessional way out by not fulfilling his end of the deal. read more

He never called to let me know he was not going to make it, and just kept me wait without any consideration. Later in the evening, (5 hours later) he sent me a message saying he had an emergency and wanted to reschedule for the next day. I understood and was still willing to see him, since it was an emergency. The next day he did the same thing again. No call, no response to my attempts to reach him, no anwer. These guys are inconsiderate of your time and don't care what your issues are. Don't bother with them. We started calling Chris the Tree Whisperer after he came out to inspect a tree in the yard of our condo association that was suffering from having a vine wrapped around it. Some in the building wanted the entire tree removed, while others of us wanted to try to save it. Chris was the ONLY tree service person who came up with a plan on how to proceed in trimming the tree and removing the vine with the goal of keeping the tree alive. His genuine care for nature is so apparent in the way he works. He explained how the vine was strangling the tree and how several poorly made past cuts were harming the tree. He then gave us an incredibly reasonable quote (in the hundreds vs. thousands as others had) and was out to do the work just a couple of days later. While here, Chris also took the time to explain to our neighbors about the tree and his plan to save it, which was super helpful in alleviating their concerns. The work was thorough and clean and we are so pleased! I waited about a month to post this to be able to report on how the tree is doing and it's exciting to say that it is now thriving! It will clearly take a couple of seasons to fully recover, but we are so grateful for Chris' work in saving this huge, beautiful part of our property. Don't let anyone else touch your trees! Chris and his team did an amazing job taking down a very large, 70 feet tall Ailanthus tree in our backyard. They took special care in protecting the surrounding fencing, the pond and detailed work around our patio. They also had to cut up the timber into smaller pieces to be carry out through the building and out onto their truck.
