He said it's not even a tree. Just a tall bush (I'm blind). And he gave a reasonable price. He asked if I also wanted to have my magnolia tree pruned. Yes! It was really overgrown. We did haggle a bit. But we settled on a price for the 2 things that worked for us both. He came with an assistant and took care of it. No drama. When I went out to say hello, he pointed out that there were actually 2 that were falling over and one good one. Asked if he should take both that were leaning. I said yes. He didn't charge extra! They gave an estimate on when, how long the job would be, and what to expect. They were able to also address all of my questions i had. At the end, we decided it was best to remove the tree. The job was finished in 3 half days (its December, so days are short now), stored and cleaned up the all the branch debris. I was expecting to come home with tree twigs everywhere the day they took down the branches and chipped the wood. I thought i would have to do some light sweeping but was surprised to not find branch/tree debris in my backyard, front yard, drive way or street. They were swift, thorough, efficient! They had a big wood chipper, a big log truck, a big truck to hold all the wood chips, a Bobcat, and a large remote control stump grinder. Since they were here already I decided to ask them about cutting some of my neighbors' trees and bushes that had grown over my side of my fence and were now causing my white PVC fence to turn green. It also helps to reduce the possibility of tree limbs falling on my fence and breaking it. Enrique looked at the job and we agreed on a price. The crew worked quickly and carefully. They cut everything back right to the fence line as high as we agreed to without cutting over my property line. Some guys cut while other guys cleaned up. They even cleaned up the leaves the neighbors's tree dropped in my yard. It was obvious they knew what they were doing. They did such a nice job in the back yard I then had them trim the tree branches over my driveway where birds would sit and "unload" on my wife's car. They did a great job there too. We were made aware that the tree was being removed and we made sure our cars were moved out of the way. They did a great job removing the tree but they needed to come back and grind down the stump. Two days later 2 workers came back around 7:15 to finish grinding up the stump, meanwhile our cars are in the driveway. They start up the machine and it starts sending pieces of the tree flying in all directions, the roof & hood of my new that is less then 2 months old. My fiance runs out and waves the guy down to stop so we can move the cars out of the way. They TOTALLY had no respect for our property! After they left we sprayed the car off, it was covered in sawdust & pieces of tree bark. The next morning I go to leave for work and whatever was rinsed off from the night before just dried all over the car, windshield covered in dried dust. So my finance calls to speak to an owner of this business and speaks to the same guy that created this mess, he told my finace that there was no BOSS to speak to to discuss this matter! I was referred to American Tree by word of mouth. Rich came to do an estimate and we weren't even home. Very convenient. Unfortunately, our driveway was too narrow to bring a crane in the back so it needed to be cut down by hand. Rich handled everything. He reached out to my neighbors for me, temporarily took down a fence, and cut the tree down in a couple hours in its entirety. However, our tree was located in our landlocked backyard and a crane could not be positioned closely enough to remove it. We worked closely with Brian Rombough at American Tree to plan its removal using a climber ... Brian. Brian is a hands-on owner/manager who we've used for many years to feed and trim all of our trees, so we knew we could trust him to take down our tree safely. On the big day Brian supervised his crew from above rather than from the ground. Brian was very cautious and took all the time he needed to assess the removal of each large limb and finally the trunk. He had a small profile but tall lift which he was able to maneuver into our backyard. This specialized piece of machinery made it possible to cut the tall truck into the small sections that were necessary to do the job safely. Brian's team also accommodated the loading of the trunk sections onto our carpenter friend's trailer so that he could cut them into timbers and put this fine wood to good use. Apparently our tree died of old age and the trunk was solid wood. It takes a special person to climb up into a very large tree and remove it from underneath them. Thank you Brian!

They also broke the top slat of my fence by stepping on it to try to get to a branch. This is not my tree nor am I the owner, and while the impacted neighbor had every right to to cut branches that were problematic for her building, you are required to clean up all of the debris. I gave them access, I said to one of the crew members, "you're going to clean this up right?" He looked over and said "oh" and left.
