I did not use Jose's LA Tree Service as a paying customer, but I am leaving this review because of…read morethe incredible integrity, courage, and character he showed when he helped me during a very dangerous situation. A bike carrier hitch failed on my vehicle while I was driving at highway speed. The carrier and bikes came off, landed upright, and spun around in the roadway. This could have caused a major accident. Jose, who happened to be nearby, avoided hitting it, stopped traffic, and took control of the situation. He carried the hitch and bikes to the side of the highway and then helped me safely navigate backing down the shoulder so I could retrieve everything. He had absolutely nothing to gain by helping me. In fact, he put himself at risk to protect other drivers and help a complete stranger. I tried to give him $50 as a thank-you, and he refused to accept it. All he asked was that I leave his business a good Google review and refer customers to him. Jose is a prince. Honest, brave, calm, and decent. This could have had a much worse outcome, and we were very lucky he was there. Based on his character alone, I would trust him and his business completely. People like Jose are rare, and he deserves every bit of recognition and support. I took a picture of him to remember him by.

In July I hired W&L Landscaping, Wilfredo and Lauren Mendez are the owners, to remove a tree and…read morestump. In the end, they did remove the tree, stump and debris as stated in the estimate. We said not to touch our neighbor's tree because it provided shade in our backyard. Because they rushed the job, they were careless. They cut some of the branches of my neighbor's tree making it look asymmetrical now. They are two different trees so you can't mistake one for the other. They broke a trellis, a water feature and cracked several slate slabs because they carelessly dropped chunks of the tree trunk instead of lowering them carefully. The workers were thoughtlessly stepping on plants, putting tools on top of plants. I had to mention the damage to Lauren the owner. Her business partner Wilfredo said nothing to me that damage was done as if it was acceptable to break things in the process. I was beginning to be sorry I hired them at this point because they still had to remove the stump. They were scheduled to come the next day. My wife was waiting in the 90-degree heat outside to save a parking space for their truck and equipment when they arrived. They didn't show. I received no call or text. I called and they cancelled because they were running late with another job. They came the next day to finish the stump and bring the replacement items that they damaged which was a clay pot which was part of the water feature and the slate that was damaged. I was at work and my wife in good faith paid them in full because they said they replaced the slate tiles. When I came home from work, I saw that they brought the wrong tiles and the wrong size and just took tiles from where the tree was removed and replaced the broken ones with them and still there were broken tiles. Nothing was replaced. I decided to let the trellis and water feature go because they weren't serious about fixing this and I wanted these people out of my life. I noticed a couple of days later on my neighbor's tree that there was a tree limb dangerously hanging by a thread and was about to fall. I brought it to W&L's attention being that they caused it. W&L said it was pre-existing damage which was baloney because the break in the tree limb was fresh looking. The limb fell a few days later. If you look on their website, there are two phone numbers, only one works, and it is Lauren's direct cell phone number. There is no official business number. I was going to let this whole thing go, but I don't want other people to go through this. I understand it was a very hot week, and it is very hard work, but it's the owners that are solely responsible for overseeing the work that is being done. Also, it shouldn't take a week and multiple calls to get a simple paid in full receipt. Totally unprofessional! Phil and Chris Buck

I recently had work done on my property by Clearview Tree and Land. Nemias, a representative came…read moreto my house to submit a bid to prune a Crepe Myrtle tree and prune a rose bush. . The bid for the tree was in line but the bid for the rose bush was too high so we negotiated a fair price. Nemias seemed to know how to prune a rose bush. It takes time and patience. Cutting it wrong can and most likely will kill the plant. The rose bush in question at my house produces a huge amount of deep red roses each year so I am very particular of its pruning. He assured me his people knew how to do it. When the day came they did an excellent job on cutting the crepe. However they used a "Hedge Trimmer", that's right a "Hedge Trimmer" to cut the rose bush, which took all of "2 minutes". It was obvious they had no idea how to trim the plant. For the $60 they charged I could have gone into my garage and mutilated the plant with my own hedge trimmer. The site manager Oscar, assured me his man knew what he was doing. He didn't. They didn't. When it comes to trimming trees, I am sure they are excellent. DO NOT, however, let them touch anything that requires "real knowledge" of horticulture. You will be greatly disappointed.
