This will be my go-to for as long as I live in the area! Anytime I've needed work done, they have been able to get me in same day or next day. They are thorough, without trying to nickel and dime you. As a young woman, when I've gone to other service centers, I often feel like I'm being taken advantage of or spoken down to when being told a million things are urgently wrong. At Ken's they give a few suggestions and explain things in a way that helps me make the best choice for me and my car. I recently took my car into Ken's for a state inspection. I bought the car in NY 45 days ago from a trusted dealer. Ken's told me that my rotors were worn to the point of failing my inspection and also recommended that I get new front breaks (breaks were half worn down - HALF). I took my car to another garage at the suggestion of my trusted mechanic and i passed with no issues. While in the middle of this process, I remembered I took my old car to Ken's to get the breaks looked at. Same results. You need new breaks. Second opinion. All good. If this happened once, I would not be bothered. Maybe an honest mistake. Maybe my other mechanic cut a corner. I am not sure. BUT TWICE, CMON. I hate doing this to a local business but do not make the same mistake i made (twice, yes im an idiot). Do not go to Ken's unless you want to ripped off. I do not recommend Ken's Service Center. I went to Ken's for a state inspection to find that my car had failed for an exhaust leak. They told me I couldn't fix the leak or replace my exhaust without basically replacing the whole system (exhaust, muffler, catalytic converter, etc.) They gave me a quote of $2100. I went to 2 other mechanics who looked over the paperwork that Ken's had given me and described it as "highway robbery." Ken's was WAY over charging me for parts (including parts I didn't even need) and not being honest about my options on fixing the leak. I ended up going somewhere else and saving myself over $1500. I also did not find the staff to be very pleasant when making appointments and discussing my options when fixing the leak. read more

Great service i had a vibration issue on my Ram 2500 . I thought my tires were out of balance. The issue was a popular discount tire center had put the wrong load range tires on my truck 2 years prior. I have to thank Bart finding the issue. I had new Goodyear load range E tires installed. My truck now drives smooth as a can be. Feels like a luxury car now not the big heavy diesel it is. I recommend going to Kens service center for any tire or service repair needs. I've been going to Ken's for a few years now. They aren't the cheapest or the fastest, but the work they do is definitely top notch. Their tires are always well balanced and properly inflated, and the maintenance and inspections they do are thorough and accurate. Regardless, I think the most important aspect of any mechanic is honesty. With Ken's, I have never had a problem there. I had a set of tires that were close to their stated mileage limit, so I bought them in for replacement. The guys at Ken's told me they were still good for another 10k and didn't need to be replaced yet if I didn't want to. Another time I brought in my car for scheduled maintenance. They ended up charging me less than they originally quoted cause they said one or two of the things looked fine when they checked them out. Since these guys aren't trying to push any unnecessary work on me, I know I can trust them. They have kept my cars running fine for several years now, and I'm sure I'll keep coming back as needed. read more

We brought two cars in for oil changes on a Saturday and our cars were immediately worked on, they were done w both in less than 45 minutes. Being from Texas, I did not know how to "winterize" my car and had a lot of questions on what to & how to do. They were very patient with my questions and explained everything to me in detail (ie. my windshield fluid was full of water and had frozen solid- oops)! My husband made an appointment to have his car serviced at this location. The car needed basic servicing- oil change, fluid fill, tire rotation, etc. we arrived on time for the drop off and were the only customers in the room. The guy behind the counter acted as if he was being inconvenienced by my husbands very existence. My husband was in his Army uniform and I'm not quite sure if this guy is anti-military or what but it was rather shocking how cranky he was to a paying customer. We left, irritated but whatever. Later in the day the place called to say that everything checked out on the car, no issues. Awesome. Then came the sales pitch. Repeatedly. The guy mentioned that they could clean the headlights as they were looking a bit aged. My husband declined as he has the stuff that cleans the lights. The guy then got really pushy about how it'd make the lights look better. This was on speakerphone so I got to hear the whole thing. He acted as if this was a major issue (no, the lights were in no way hampered, just slightly yellowed). Again my husband declined and the guy hung up. Wtf? Upon picking up the car the same guy who we dealt with upon arriving (unsure if same guy who was on phone) said all of 2 words to us. He gave us the total. That is it. We paid and not a word was said. No thank you, nothing. This was the first and only time we will use this place. I'd happily drive out of our way just so I felt our business was appreciated. read more

The service center is open on Saturdays. The people working in the office and the mechanics are all polite. They didn't try to sell me a bunch of work that didn't need to be done. We came in on Saturday with two cars and they begin working in them immediately. They also offer military discounts. Highly recommended for oil changes, new tires, or any other repair. read more

I called to make an appointment for the next day. The guy who answered the phone seemed very disinterested. He said he didn't have anything available for a couple of days. He just didn't seem to care and made no effort to be helpful. Mind you, all I needed is an oil change. Way to run a business! Does the owner know how his employees are costing him money??? I brought my vehicle in because the engine was doing intermitten puttering and the check engine light came on. I brought it in to Kens. 200 dollars later, they said it was ready. When my wife was driving it back home, the check engine light turned on, and it started puttering again. I called them and demanded to know why I paid 200 dollars for a broken vehicle. They gave the typical excuse, "We cant fix everything! It's really hard." They offered to fix it again, only this time for another 100 dollars. I told them it's their fault for "fixing" my vehicle only to find out its not fixed while we are driving around a potentially dangerous vehicle. They finally fixed it for only paying for parts. They should have fixed it for free after that, but they didn't. read more

After being a loyal customer there for the past 8 years with my two vehicles, I've decided to look for another place to take my business. I have tried hard to establish a long-time relationship with them, but I still feel nickle-and-dimed sometimes. Not every trip there is a $1000 fix; but with all of the business that I have given them over the years, my feeling is that I shouldn't be treated like Joe Blow off the street. But that's exactly how they are there. In other words, there is no consideration whatsoever there for long-time customer loyalty, and I've finally had enough. Went in to get a leaking tire fixed. Claimed that the finishing nail was too close to the side. It was two inches from the edge clearly in the tread. Told me I needed to buy a new one and since I m buying one I should just go ahead and buy four. The tires are low but still got at least 10K left on them. This all took about two hours. I told them no thanks they put the tire with the nail still in it back on the car. I fixed it in my driveway. I don't not like being up sold for no reason. My family and I will avoid them. read more

Kens is the worst place to go if you want honest service. I took my vehicle in for a simple state vehicle inspection and they said my rotors were out of spec amongst other things. I am mechanically inclined so when I got home I looked at the tire. I don think they even took the wheel off to look at the rotor. The specs they looked up were wrong. When I went back to the shop to confront them about THEIR error they just brushed it off while admitting that they made an error. The next thing that failed inspection was the belt. I went to change the belt and to find out there was nothing wrong with it. I went back up there to tell them about ANOTHER part that has not failed and the Manager was just as cold and unapologetic about their error-prone vehicle safety inspection. I went there out of my best judgment and because it is 1/16th of a mile from my house. I guess my instincts were right. It seems like they are in the business of doing SALES not SERVICE so maybe they should change their name. read more
