They book 4 people at once for an oil change for one time slot which is inane for 1 mechanic to do. I left and went and got the same synthetic oil change at valvoline and was done in 10 minutes . a mechanic called out sick, and nobody informed me until I asked for my keys back to leave . After spending nearly two hours stranded on the side of the road, that level of responsiveness was a huge relief. Once he arrived, he got right to work and had the tire changed in less than 15 minutes. The entire process was quick, efficient, and stress-free, and we were safely back on the road much faster than expected. My only suggestion for improvement would be to introduce yourself before getting started. It was dark, and we were two women stranded on the side of the highway. When he arrived, he pulled up behind us and immediately started changing the tire without introducing himself. I genuinely appreciated the urgency and willingness to jump right in and get the job done, but in that situation, a quick introduction would have gone a long way in helping us feel more comfortable and know that the person approaching our vehicle was the roadside assistance we had called. It's amazing how several companies replied. Also, several of the companies I called went to an answer center and they just wanted to get you schedule for an appointment and would discuss further with you. At this Midas location on route 40 in Catonsville the women who answered the phone (I forgot her name) and the person who i met walking through the door was the same person. Just as pleasant in person as on the phone. The greatest thing that impressed me was there was no hard sell for additional services. She reviewed with me the observations from the mechanic doing the service. She stated if there was truly something that would affect safety should would have explain the service needed but the decision would have been mine without a hard pressure sale. Because of this experience my father in law is scheduled for this Wednesday. Dropped vehicle for an 11:30 appt. was called less than 2 hours stating the vehicle's requested service was completed.
