This small cafe is very homey. The service is fantastic. My favorite item on the menu is the biscuits and gravy. But all of the breakfast foods are delicious. There is usually a line of people waiting to get a table. It is that good. If you have family or guests coming in from out of town. Take them here. They will be impressed. I love coming to Keithsburg. Good food and good prices. They love their military customers and give a discount also. The outdoor area has umbrellas that can block the sun on almost all angles. Love the small town charm and feel of the people and the inside of the restaurant. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the time it takes to get your order. Definitely a "locals" restaurant. I heard the waitresses greet several customers by name as they came in. Small and clean, no frills kind of place. I visited at lunch on a weekday, so while it was busy, it wasn't as packed as it apparently is for weekend breakfast. I had the meat-and-two with the meatloaf special. The meatloaf was definitely homemade and tasty - not greasy, not dry. The vegetables were most likely not made fresh, but were still tasty. This is not the place for food snobbery, so I'm not bashing. I picked a biscuit over corn bread - it was huge and fluffy. With tea and tax my bill was around $8. Service was friendly and amazingly fast. If you are on I-575 and hungry, it is worth getting off the expressway and taking your business to a local establishment with reasonably healthy choices (i.e. vegetables). read more

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast as it had good reviews. There was a wait but not too long. We were sat at a table by the kitchen.,we quickly realized there was ONE waitress serving all the tables. She was obviously overwhelmed. It took her a few minutes to get to us. We ordered coffee which extremely weak. We placed our order and while we waited the lady sitting at the table next to us was clearing her throat and spitting into a napkin. The food arrived and we were disappointed to see the bacon was very fatty and laying in a pool of grease. Not crispy at all, just very chewy. The pancake was undercooked in the center so we couldn't eat it all. The place is a little run down and very old. There was a overflowing trash can beside our table with trash on the floor. The locals apparently enjoy this little dive. It would have been fine if it wasn't for the coffee, bacon, pancake, trashcan and lack of staff causing rushed service. We won't be returning to this place. I later looked up their health score and it was an 82! Wish I would have looked at that before we ate here. read more

One of the worst breakfast experiences we've had since moving to Georgia. Southern hospitality is lost on this dirty hole in the wall. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, only to be completely ignored by the wait staff. Forget even asking about food allergies! Went outside to the gravel parking lot to find two open tables. Nice decor fairly low quality food. Mom and pop diner. Chicken tenders were pretty flavorless, pork chops were so so, fried steak was ok. mash potatoes tasted like and had consistency of powdered (boxed) potatoes, not bad just powdered tato feel. turnip greens neither my wife or son finished, tasted like frozen, not fresh. green beans were over peppered. Only standouts were the cream corn (wife and son liked it) and the biscuits. Biscuits were large, fresh and very good. So... if you need a six pack of biscuits, come on down, anything else... skip it. read more

GREAT SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY! On our way to Chattanooga, we decided to stop by this little cafe for breakfast. It is very easy to miss because it is so small and sits back a bit. It has seven tables and a counter where you can eat as well. Entering is like walking into a relative's home during the holidays. You are warmly greeted and feel like you're home. I like the fact that our waitress actually pulled up a chair and sat down to assist us with our order. I enjoyed having the owner stop by to just chit-chat. We did not recognize him as owner because we are so accustomed to random people just walking up to us and engaging us in conversation, that it is just no big deal. I finally asked him if he was a "regular" and he said that he was the owner and also pointed to our waitress, (his wife). They serve old school traditional breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs, a biscuit and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were light and fluffy and cooked perfectly. The biscuit was huge and light as well. It reminded me of a dinner roll and was the perfect vehicle for my eggs. The potatoes were shredded hash browns and prepared with a crispy topping. I enjoyed it all and rest assured, if you have high blood pressure you don't need to worry about sodium because they don't add it to the food. This did not bother me because I realize that more diners and cafes are going this route in order to satisfy their primary customer base. Since these were such basic foods, the lack of salt did not adversely affect the dish because I just added it and all was well. I sampled my husband's Keithsburg omelet, (with everything) and thought that it was very good. I also prefer my breakfast potatoes to be fresh cut with the skin on but these had a nice flavor so they get a pass. I will say that the pancakes were not made from scratch but I prefer my own, (from scratch), anyway. I simply wanted to sample these out of curiosity. We both enjoyed our breakfast and the good company and look forward to returning in the future. And yes, I got the t-shirt! read more

I had huge fluffy biscuits with butter and strawberry jelly, a shining pile of 3 scrambled eggs with rich cheddar cheese, big sausage patties that bloomed from a specialty butcher, and grits so perfectly salted that when they touched my tongue an explosion of culinary comfort maxed out my joy meter. Been hearing about it and finally went. Ambiance: A little hillbilly on the outside, a little georgia bulldogs on the inside. But what it loses in location and appearance it makes up for in other ways so don't be scared. Service: I can't stress this enough, if you walk in and see 10 or 20 people waiting in front of you don't worry. In about 5 minutes that line will dissipate and you will be the next one waiting for your table. These guys turn tables FAST. This place runs more efficiently than waffle house from a short order perspective. From the time you sit down and order to the time your food hits the table infront of you, you won't even be a 1/4 done with your coffee. They also do it with a smile, so that makes it even more enjoyable to watch. The only thing that slows this place down is that the customers sometimes take their time eating. Food: It is classic southern breakfast. My recommendation is the Keithsburg Omelette. If it is a traditional southern breakfast meat, it is cooked and stuffed inside a crepe thin fluffy outer egg layers. Probably best for two people as it is massive. Enjoy! read more
