The set up is quite unassuming, both inside and outside, BUT they are cranking out a pretty good fish sandwich! Hand breaded and fried with a nice crunch. Biggest fish sandwich you'll ever get. The sides were decent, asked for fries but got potato pancakes. The hot sauce was also unique, I was a big fan and it went great with the fish. Staff were friendly and definitely has a regular crowd. I highly recommend to give this place a try!

Best fish I've had in the area. They have large..I mean LARGE portions of fish. I didn't realize why people order an extra bun until I had one. I also got the lobster bisque which was amazing. The place is set up for takeout but there seemed to be a small sit-down area. However, that area was closed due to covid precautions.

I am happy to be the first reviewer of Keith Heinritz Catering. This is the place to come for incredible fish sandwiches on the east side of Pittsburgh. Don't be alarmed by the "hole in the wall" appearance from the outside because the inside is the same (ha ha). This is a pretty clean place for the high volume of activity going on here. If you order a large fish sandwich - it is enough to feed 2 people (but you may want to get an extra bun or 2). The krinkle cut fries and clam chowder soup are also very good. What makes the fish so good? Very good light breading but most importantly - extremely fresh tasting big chunks of perfectly fried fish. The big hunks of fish tend to fall apart when you eat it. Not greasy like some fish fries. No sign of a bad or old taste to the oil and fried stuff despite the long line and high volume. Perfect and yummy. They have about 7 or 8 workers swarming in the little kitchen and they seem to be serving it up fresh with minimal wait. A few more important notes - CASH ONLY. If you want to go on a Friday in Lent, you should consider ordering and picking up before 5:00pm to avoid the longer lines. There are some tables in here but most people take out. These folks are the experts - much better fried fish than that church basement down the road (please don't tell the priest or pastor that I said that). Give this place a try.

From the outside it's a basic building and appears to be a bbq restaurant. Upon entry you're transformed back in time a bit, starting with the old school kool cigarette machine. The vibe is less restaurant and more bar. Full bar; high tops, and a few booths. We were told to sit where we want. We were immediately offered drinks and menus. The menu styling is very basic. No colors, pictures, bells or whistles. It's a white piece of paper typed up in the default font and laminated. Personally, I found it charming. The server told us about their specials not on the menu: po boy, Mac and cheese, and shrimp. We ordered off the standard menu. I got a Cuban sandwich. Co workers had wings and ribs. Everyone loved their food. We also got a couple of salads. It was colorful, fresh, and abundant. Everything was super affordable. $5 salads and $11 entrees. Service was prompt abr friendly. We were in Pittsburgh suburbs for three days and this was the best food we had. It was casual and straight forward, but friendly and yummy. If you're visiting North Versailles I definitely recommend this place from the options available.

I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and attentive, she was great. I ordered a rack of ribs with cole slaw and fries. The fries were just luke warm....like they had sat around awhile, very dissappointing. I'm not sure why kitchen staffs (not just here) will put fries on a plate knowing they're not fresh. Maybe the ownership doesn't allow them to make fresh ones until the old ones have been served or they think people like barely warm, half hour old fries....dunno. The cole slaw was decent but had very little seasoning. The ribs......well they were, ok. The sauce was a bit too sweet but the ribs were over done. They weren't mushy but they were over done, I guess in an attempt to have them "fall off the bone". The ribs were forgettable, I didn't finish them. Unfortunate, I'm 3 miles from this place and really wanted to like it.

Instead, this was hands down the fastest large-group dinner I've ever had. Orders moved quickly, food came out hot, and nothing felt chaotic. For a group this size, that level of execution is genuinely impressive. Let's be clear: this is not Texas-style, 18-hour, smoke-ring BBQ--and it's not trying to be. What they do well is consistency and customization. You get six different sauces, and they actually ask whether you want your meat lean and dry or juicy. I went juicy, and my portions were flavorful, tender, and satisfying. I ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork, and also tried the pulled pork sandwich. Solid across the board. They were out of the cream corn (bummer), the mac and cheese was fine and comforting, and the cornbread was excellent--classic, slightly sweet, and the clear standout. This is BBQ built for scale: fast, reliable, and crowd-friendly. If you're feeding a large group and want everyone served quickly, with options and no drama, Mission BBQ absolutely delivers--even if it's not chasing smoke-ring perfection.

We happen to be in the area so after about three years of avoiding them, I said why not give them another try. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was exceptional. It had a pleasant ambiance you could actually have a great conversation without excessive noise. I ordered the fish dinner and did they ever redeem themselves. It was no longer like Mrs. Paul's frozen fish, two very nice meaty breaded filet served with French fries that were hot and crispy cooked just right. Great snap when you crunched them. The breading on the fish was not overpowering and the fish itself was large and robust with the flavor of fresh caught cod. I was very impressed. Our waitress Caleigh who was wonderful.
