    Reuben sandwich
    Marnie S.

My husband and I polled a Facebook group called "Pittsburgh foodies" to get recs on everyone's favorite Reuben sandwich in the greater Pittsburgh area. With at least 50 responses, Emil's came up in the top 5 so we knew we had to give it a try. We drove all the way from cranberry during rush hour so it was quite the ordeal to get to Rankin but well worth the trip. The restaurant was very busy and service was slightly slow, but not terrible. It's a fairly rundown looking establishment, but the food was great and the server was friendly. I wouldnt say it's the best Reuben I've ever had but it was big and flavorful and definitely satisfied the craving. I would have loved just a little more sauce too! If you love a good Reuben definitely add Emil's to your list!

Been a while. Forgot how amazing the Rueben's are. Too big for me I ate half but the flavor is so good! Stuffed cabbage always amazing!!! Friendly service always a hello.

This place is a hidden gem which has been around for decades. They offer a variety of different foods which are delicious. I recently enjoyed one of their amazing Corned Beef Sandwiches, but in the past I've also enjoyed their delicious fish Sandwiches. The atmosphere and staff are very friendly and welcoming and the service is prompt. The dining room is somewhat small yet not too crowded. In addition to the dining room there is also a bar where you can either enjoy a drink or enjoy both a meal and a drink. This place fills up quickly, so try to get there early.

    Chicken Parmesan with rigatoni

If you're not getting dinner from here at least once a week you're missing out! All homemade food, the nicest and most attentive service. This chicken Parmesan I got for my takeout order was SO good! I got to pick from spaghetti or rigatoni noodles. I ordered this on a Thursday, FYI Thursday is their Italian menu. Also not pictured is their delicious fish sandwich! Highly recommend this place. It is just straight up good food!

I give it 5 stars yet again. Old school Pittsburgh. Grabbed an Iron to be like the olden days. Owner was here and spent a few minutes talking to me and making suggestions. She is so darn friendly. Definitely a neighborhood place, but as a stranger I was made to feel as though I've lived here my entire life. Ordered tonight the stuffed cabbage just like Zimmern did. Wonderful with homemade mashed potatoes. Like my grandmother would make. The people are what make this place special.

Jr fish sandwich with all the fixing's... slaw, Mac & Cheese, Haulski... gotta love it!

Just good Pittsburgh food in hearty portions. Service is always pleasant and the wait for food is minimal. Try their fish sandwich-huge!

The food here is fantastic! I had Chicken Parmesan with a salad and rigatoni. So much food, I had to take half of it home.

First of all you just feel welcome when you walk in the door. There is lots of bar sitting, along with some booths and even a couch. We usually grab some seats at the bar. There are frequently events going on and a wide range as well. Some events are ticketed, sometimes there is a cover and sometimes no charge. The artwork is great and all the fun photographs and sayings. Every time I'm there I spot something new. There is even a gumball machine with poetry in it. How cool. Most often we have gone for live music. This time we were in the area and just wanted to grab a drink. They did have a DJ though which was fun. It was also a great choice because they stay open late when so many local places close early. They do have a limited food menu but I have never eaten there. They have a variety of drinks ranging from non alcoholic to beer or wine, even cider. The cocktail menu is where it's at though. There are so many choices and some unique combinations. It's been fun trying so many. I think my favorite drink on the menu is Galeophobia which comes in a fun shark glass. It's fruity without being too sweet and the macadamia liquor adds just the right amount of nuttiness in the background. I seriously could drink several of them. The Spork House Punch is another favorite. Immediately *pinkies up* with the fancy little crystal mug. The pear and lemon gives such great flavor and it's well balanced and an easy drinker. It also feels like a good value with the amount you get. This time my fiancé tried Elvis' death and loved the toilet mug. He said it was tasty but a bit expensive for what it was so he probably wouldn't order it again. Fun bartenders, great drinks, good atmosphere, enjoyable entertainment.. what's not to love?

The staff was very friendly and attentive- I didn't catch the girl's name but she was very knowledgeable about hookah and had some good tips for us. The flavor was great- we had to try the house-made "Pussy Juice" flavor, which was a combination of different fruits and had a really nice citrus-y bite. My boyfriend wanted to buy some to smoke in his hookah at home but they don't sell it except for on-site use.
